Final Weblog Essay
The Narrative of the Johnny Bunko manga talks about a career guy who learns six different lessons from this spirit name Diana who helps him with his career. The lessons that he used in this story helped Johnny with his project, including providing excellent career advice that could be useful. Also, I plan to graduate from college with honors. To find myself a steady journalism job so I can be financially secure for the rest of my life and that my work will be highly recognized by my peers. The one who inspired me the most is Max Robinson, his work in the news media industry was highly recognized, and I chose to go to that field because I want to make a difference in my community.
My strengths is getting my work done, being a professional journalist, getting my news assignments recognized in the news media community, and being on time for work. There was that one time in Junior college when one of my classmates were helping each other out, including myself studying for our public speaking final, as well as my other classmates helping me with my English and my digital media work as for the teachers they gave me their feedback on how to improve my work and how to learn from my mistakes. Furthermore, quitting is not always a smart move I think if you are persistent in pursuing a career goal of what is set, I think you should go for it's not always to be delusional or annoying as someone thinks if an individual is just fresh out of, college then they must be determined and persistent enough to try to reach that goal. There are times I feared that I was so stressed out so much about college life that I want to drop out and become a failure, and there are times when I failed in something like getting a bad grade or getting rejected I feel as though I was going to be nothing in life, but we can't let failure defined us if I have a Nickle every time I failed a quiz ill probably be rich, but that's not the point is don’t let failure defined you from who you are as an individual. I often always asked myself do I want go to Howard University Cathy Hughes School of Communication or go to Hampton University Scripts Journalism school to get my third in Journalism or radio. But I always was too afraid of telling my mother that because she always hoped for me to finish my degree in Broadcast Journalism at UDC and then finding myself a job by the time I graduate next year hopefully.
From what I read from the manga so far, four of them were at the restaurant eating then Johnny ended up breaking one of the chopsticks to summon Diana and then they learned one more lesson from her final departure. Also, during my time in the convergent media class, I managed to do things I wasn't even aware of, such as creating a proposal pitch that could convince the audience to go with that pitch because it was very effective. Or that creating a blog posts or book reviews of my work might look good on my resume or portfolio. As well as me creating a webinar on HBCUs On How They Integrate LGBT Students and International Students was a good way because I was able to convince the audience to do more research on UDC and other HBCU campuses. Now, for my creative qualifications during my spring semester in this class, I managed to create an Annotated bibliography that was useful for my topic about LGBT students and international students on HBCU campuses. As well as doing a book review essay about Donkey Girl including researching for my weblog to help me with spreading my important news info across campus.
My technical qualifications from what I improved from this course was easy during my time on convergent media I managed to create a google slides webinar seminar based on my topic on HBCUs, Which shows the technical qualifications I learned from this course will help me in my field. Additionally, I managed to build content that could be useful for my major so it can be useful to the media that might get the audience's attention. My ideal job is to become a broadcast journalist, an individual who is interested in working in the media field as well as telling important stories that could get the audience's attention on what is going on in the D.C area.

Field Trip Essay
After going to the African American History Museum, I have discovered many artifacts and artworks about Black history I wasn't even aware. Such as George Clinton's Spaceship, the gold painting of two shoes, and an HBCU graduation gown. Now each of these artifacts described something. For example, George Clinton's spaceship describes what he used during his concerts that represent a space like the description of a sci-fi theme to his persona. The second artifact was an artwork of a gold painting of two shoes, which represent stepping as they do back in Africa.
And finally, the third artifact, the graduation cap and gown from Bennet College describe Black education and Black excellence of what historical black colleges and universities mean in the Black community. Also, the artwork/artifact that has the best point is the Bennet College Graduation gown that truly represents Black power in education of what an HBCU is. The second-best point is the Divine nine artifacts they have during the exhibit, which describes Black history and Black excellence. The third best artifact is the George Clinton spaceship gives off the vibes of the TLC music video No scrubs with a hint of funk and soul. The fourth artifact/artwork is the gold painting of two shoes that represents stomping on the yard and how this great piece of art represents African American history.
Plus, these artifacts represent the events that ever took place in Black history and what Black people have to do to become leaders and historians in their community. Also, what makes these three artifacts very interesting is that these artifacts/artworks represent Black society and what Black people have accomplished over the years, whether it's education, entertainment, architecture, and politics. This shows these artifacts I did my research on can tell you some stories about Black history and Black Power in the Black community. Furthermore, the books and gifts that can be bought in the African American History Museum gift shop is the Karmala Harris Book called The Truths We Hold An American Journey. Additionally, this says a lot about the works of art and artifacts in the museum that might convince the audience that each of these African American artifacts in the art exhibit has a certain background with all of them and how that piece of art might inspire a Black individual to do something meaningful in the Black community.
Plus, who decides what goes in the African American History Museum is the museum curator because the museum curator is in charge of all the artifacts and items in the building. Not to mention, they get this privileged because they get to choose which artifacts/artwork based on their worth as well as the historic impact those items were use during Black History. Also, there should have been an exhibit in the museum of people who were victims of Police brutality and deaths in honor of George Floyd, Sasha Bland, Briana Taylor, Travon Martin, and many more who were kill because of police brutality. They didn't put it in there because it would have been offensive to people. Furthermore, what should have been added to the museum gift shop would be a poster of Black leaders and historians that did great work in the Black community they did not put it in there because they already have a book about Black leaders such as the Karmala Harris book.
Lastly, I believe these things were left out because they don't hold any historical meaning that can be useful to the museum. But it should be because we need these exhibits and gifts. After all, many years from now, some black people may forget all of their accomplishments of our ancestors have made over the years and as people of the Black community, we need to honor our Black ancestor's work and legacy so we can pass it on to the next generation. In closing, this trip to the African American history museum was a great and intellectual trip that really show the true meaning of Black history and Black culture  and I hope if anyone who is interested want to learn more about this museum and its artifacts then I recommend you go there and be amazed what you might see in there.

Book Review Essay Updated
The Historically Black Colleges and universities book was written by Bobby L, Lovett brings a certain Black history vibe as well as an educational vibe the author Bobby L, Lovett who is the author of this magnificent novel is a history professor at Tennessee State University. Also, the book covers 390 pages, and the book talks about the end of the civil rights movements and Black and white Philanthropy, which took an impact on HBCU Institutions. After reading this book summary section, I can honestly say it brings out an HBCU history vibe and a cultural appropriation vibe towards it. This novel right here was written by a college professor who works at an HBCU institution called Tennessee State University this novel explains, "the book concludes movements and Black and White philanthropy had much effect on the development of these minority institutions. Northern White philanthropy had much to do with the start and main of the nation's HBCUs from 1837 into the 1940s."
Additionally, the Bobby Lovett book about HBCU's bestseller rank is 3,056,292 this novel right here should be ranked number 1 because of its esteemed and profound history about HBCUs, and many more people should read more about this book. Also, the HBCU book utilizes a pretty impactful history of the end of the civil rights movement and how HBCU institutions played an important role in helping African American people get a decent education. "HBCUs depended upon the financial support of philanthropic groups, benevolent societies, and federal and state government agencies, but the survival of HBCUs became dependent, mostly on their creative responses to the changing environment of higher education.” Plus, after reading this book about America's Historically Black Colleges and Universities, a narrative history honestly, all I can say is I have never been so in love with this book in all my life. Although it is not a New York bestseller, this book written by an HBCU professor should deserve an award for best-selling author, and they should give him his props for creating such an excellent book about HBCUs.
Of course, this report I am typing up can be said to any other book. But this novel right here, this HBCU book, let's just say this book should be recognized in the HBUC community that might be very useful for high school students who are interested in going to an HBCU college. Now in case you want to read more books by Booby L Lovett, here are some books I have recommended. The African American History of Nashville Tennessee (1999), A Black Man’s Dream (1993), The Civil Rights Movement In Tennessee (2005), and A Touch of Greatness a History of Tennessee State University (2013). Furthermore, for this report, I have provided Bobby L Lovett's previous work that he did as a great author and as a college professor and how his work of the previous books he written has a target based and that is Black history and Black culture, and how it all began with this book about HBCU history. Why the books he has written might even convince the audience to buy his books.
This shows this report I have typed up contains important, info about the book. Historically black colleges and university's narrative history from the nineteenth century and the twenty-first century. Is a great piece of literature, and the previous work that Bobby Lovett did should be highly recognized by his colleagues in the HBCU community. This shows that Bobby Lovett's book about HBCUs is an interesting novel about HBCU history and culture of Black people getting a decent education and how this type of history about HBCUs is a great history lesson in college and high school. Furthermore, the total cost of the HBCU book is $22.01 although, this may not seem popular to the younger generation but trust me this report I am typing up will convince the audience to buy this book so it can be ranked #1.

Book Review Essay Of Cosmos
The Book Cosmos brings a certain of sci-fi educational wonder to readers. Carl Sagan is the author of this novel, not to mention this book is based on a TV show. Also, in this book review, there will be reports, recommendations, timelines, and costs about this magnificent book. After reading this book on the summary section, I honestly can say it brings out a space like a wonder of astronomy, but what interests me about this novel is it's based on a TV show and explains the scientific complex. This book right here this book is about every person dream who wants to learn more about astronomy and the scientific complex. Also, the book Cosmos brings out the essence of space, like a wonder but a child-like wonder because kids may want to read this book if they are interested in astronomy. "Shortly after its release Cosmos became the best-selling science book ever published in the English language and was the first science book to sell more than half a million copies." (Wikipedia) In this report, the style content of the book Cosmos utilizes "a light conversational tone to render complex scientific topics readable for a lay audience on many topics the book encompasses a more concise refined representations of previous ideas about which Sagan had written."(Wikipedia) Furthermore, after reading this wonderful novel written by Carl Sagen, I had never been so focus on a book like this in my life, knowing this book is actually based on a TV Show and how this novel popularity grew and evolved after its release is simply spectacular. Of course, this book review I am typing can be said to any other book, but this book Cosmos right here let’s just say the author deserved an award for a best-selling author. Now, in case anyone else wants to find great work like this from Carl Sagan, you can go to the htps://carlsagan.com/book/ there you will find his best-written works besides Cosmos such as The Demon World Science As a Candle In the Dark (1997) A Vision Of The Human Future In Space Pale Blue Dot (1997),The Dragon Eden(1986), Brocas Brain: Reflection On The Romance Of Science(1986), and the Billions and Billions(1998). In this report I have typed up, you can see all the previous work that Carl Sagan did which all of his books are targeted based on the mystery of space and science. This Shows the report I have provided information about the Book Cosmos contains very important pieces of literature about the mysteries of space that is highly recognized in the scientific community. Furthermore, in my report, I have provided an initial cost and how many copies did the book cosmos sold according to Wikipedia states "Cosmos sold over 900,000 copies while on these lists and continued, popularity has allowed Cosmos to sell about five million copies internationally. Shortly after Cosmos was published, Sagan received a $2million advance for the novel contract. This. was the largest release given an unwritten fiction book at the time.” This Shows, after its popularity grew the total costs of how many copies of the book was sold increased up to a million dollars due to its popularity and notoriety.

The Story OF DONKEY SKIN BY CHARLES PERUIT
Tumblr media
This Story I'm going to tell will be based on a French fairytale called Donkey skin by Charles Perrault. The Synopsis of this Fairytale takes place in a Kingdom that has a powerful, King and a queen and a beautiful princess who was just born. Unfortunately, tragedy struck the Queen when she became ill, and there was no cure for her illness. Before she was about to depart up to heaven, the Queen asked the King to promise him to find wise women and more beautiful than to provide an heir to the throne. Unable to find a woman with such beauty, the Queen believed that her beloved husband would never remarry, but the King accepted the Queen's condition then shortly after, she died in arms. For the time, being the King was inconsolable in his grief both day and night months later, urging other kingdoms he will.
Be remarrying again. But the matter was not an easy task he have to keep his promise to his late wife but, he was not able to find a wife with all of his attraction. Only his daughter with such charm and beauty which the Queen could not possess, thus the only way the King can keep his promise is by marrying his daughter. Also, the historical background of this Story, is traced back to an incestuous and quasi relationship. According to tor.com, it states "the King of France himself had married his cousin, Maria Theresa of Spain Largely for political reasons." His brother Phillipe Duke of Orleans had married another first cousin, Henrietta of England, before marrying a more distant cousin Elizabeth Charlotte of the Palatine Whose, grandmother was related to the French Royal Family.
The moral of this fairytale is that this French story is nothing based on forbidden love and unhealthy feelings about a father who wants to marry his daughter. What is so sick about this fairytale is its based-on King Louis XIV marrying one of his relatives just for political reasons. Not only is it just incest but, it's morally wrong in the eyes of God. Also, there have been retellings and adaptations such as Peau D Ane, Donkey Skin, The Tale of The Skin, and Unnatural Issue. This Shows there have been many adaptations of how popular this fairytale is. The three social themes of this Fairytale can, be implied to pedophilia, Incest, and Unnatural Love.
These three things can be implied in telling the story because it talks about an unnatural love of a father who wants to marry his daughter. This leads the Story to pedophilia because it deals with a sick man who wants to have sex with his daughter. The French fairytale Donkey Skin was written by Charles Peruit. It talks about a "King who had a beautiful wife and a rich castle including, a marvelous donkey whose droppings turn to gold one day His wife died after making him promise not to marry a woman whose beauty and attributes equaled hers. "The King grieved but was in time persuaded to seek another wife it became clear that the only woman who could fit the promise was his daughter." "The Daughter went to her fairy godmother who advised her to make impossible demands as a condition of her as constant a dress as bright as the sun a dress color of the moon and a dress of all of the colors of the sky and finally hides his marvelous donkey which produced gold and thus was the source of the Kingdoms' wealth.”
Such was the King's desire to marry her that he granted all of them the fairy godmother gave her a marvelous chest to contain all she owned and told her that the Donkey skin would make an excellent disguise." The princess eventually found a royal farm where they let her work in the Kitchen despite her Ugliness in the Donkey skin." "On feast, days she would dress in fine gowns her father had given her, and one such day the prince came by her room and peeked through the keyhole." "He fell in love at once fell in with his longing and declared that nothing would cure him, but a cake baked by Donkey skin and nothing they could say of what a dirty she dissuaded him." When Donkey skin baked the, cake her ring fell into the prince found it and declared that he would marry only whose finger it fit. Every Other woman has failed that Donkey Skin tries and, it fits her perfectly.
When she had dressed in her fine gowns, his parents were reconciled with the match. Donkey Skin would later find that her father found and remarried to a beautiful widow, and everyone lived happily ever after according to Wikipedia. In closing, this fairytale is one of Charles Peruit best works ever and if anyone  wants to read or want to learn more about this story Donkey Skin I highly recommend you read the book first.

Tumblr media
This Blog Post will truly show the true meaning of what it means to be a UDC firebird and how the University Shows the true meaning of Black excellence and culture by helping its students gain the skills they need to be leaders to the world. Although we are going through a pandemic right now, that leads to alot of cancellations of events on campus. This year the Phoenix Times will be using social media like Instagram to be on the lookout, For UDC events and entertainment going on campus. Also, the meaning behind this blog site will be targeting the only public HBCU in D.C that will explain how UDC Shows the true meaning of Black Lives Matter, Black culture, and Black excellence as its students make a difference in the Black Community.
By getting their degree. However, People believe HBCUS like ours does not prepare Black students like us for the future or that we're not diverse enough. But there are students all over the United States who share one part of their culture with us.
This shows HBCUs like UDC had made an impact, In Black History in the Black community. Of course, what makes UDC unique from other HBCU institutions is that they are considered the only public HBCU here in the D.C area that is affordable for students while other HBCUS like Howard is expensive for people who cant afford it. Although, this blog site I am working on that is targeting UDC college students' lives and what they are working towards will inspire people in the Black community. here in D.C to go to a Historical Black College and University, the Phenix Times Blog Site will get some information on the latest trends that UDC now college students are doing these days such as Fashion trends and trends going on social media. Not to mention, getting some valuable information about the Townhall Meetings about the numbers of Covid 19 cases on campus has been since the pandemic started. For this blog site to work I have taken the liberty of participating in the upcoming Back to School Jam this Spring 2022. To get some great information on students who are new and returning on campus.
The reason I am creating this blog post and why I called it Phoenix Times. Because I want HBCU students like us UDC students to give people. To understand the value of what HBCUs stand for in the Black community and how they play a significant role in Black History. In addition, I believe UDC will change in the next ten years by being the most prestigious institution, which is famous for its alumni status its programs, and good networking connections that might help students be leaders of the Black Community. According to the University website it state "Embedding its essence as a public historically black urban land grant university in the nation's capital UDC is dedicated to serving the needs of the community of the District of Columbia and producing lifelong learners who are transformative leaders in the workforce, government nonprofit, sectors and beyond".
This Shows that UDC is a prime example of what an HBCU stands for fighting for Black rights and helping the Black community by helping its people get a decent education to survive life. Once this bog site is a big success it will inspire the entire UDC community on campus to fully realize how important UDC and other HBCUs are In the Black community and what significant role they play to gain a reputation for turning Black people into Black leaders. In closing, Firebird Media will change the faces of UDC students like us for not only getting a decent education but being a voice to our Black brothers and sisters that going to an HBCU like UDC will help people to become leaders of tomorrow.

Hey Mitchell Media Readers, this is your homeboy Kenlaun here about to post my final blog on this perfect GOGO band I heard back in the day called Mambo Sauce. Ok, my readers, to give the full layout story of my last blog post about this hottest, not to mention the greatest GOGO band here, are some facts about this band. For example, this band was an American gogo band from the great Chocolate City, also known as Washington D.C the, home of GOGO the band. Breaks into the music industry in the year 2007. Also, their music in 2007 was really cool and very creative as, someone who has a deep passion for D.C GOGO music I got to say this band has its great moments in the music industry and their songs. For example, the Miracles and Welcome to D.C have received perfect comments from their fans. Additionally, the members of this band, are Alfred, Jol, Jermaine, Patricia, Christian, and Khari these guys are the remaining members of the band, others that I have done my research so far left. DC GOGO BAND OF THE WEEK HUCK A BUCKS
Hello, my Mitchell Media readers, it's your boy who always brings the news Kenlaun about to give you guys this week GOGO, band of the week is Huck A Bucks’ That is right, the greatest GOGO band in the early 1990s in Washington D.C they were pretty well known back in the day and made several hits nationwide. Not to mention, produce several songs as well. Also, the members of this band consist of Joseph, Lil Joey, Timms rapping/singing, Charles Ricky, Yancy, Lamont, Ray Ray, and many more in the list to speak from additionally it has a single song called the Bud. While listening to the lyrics of the song. It had a funk style towards it. I mean, the lyrics, in there were so retro. Also, the band has an old-school style towards it which proves the band Huck A Bucks has some of the Greatest 90s music in D.C history. People, if you are throwing a 90s party or a cookout, I recommend this song and this band because you don't hear lyrics like that anymore. Also, don't get me started on the other song Get down while I was listening to their music, you can tell there is Black people's magic in their music. Because the lyrics they have in that song were just so groovy, hip, and not to mention so, cool it's, like you were back in the 90s listening to their music. This shows that Huck A Bucks is the greatest GOGO band. Of course, I must go so, this is Kenlaun Mitchell signing off.

When I was doing my journalistic work on this GO-GO, a band I just got to say they were like old school back in the day as one of the earliest GO-GO bands in Chocolate City, AKA, Washington D.C. According to DCLM.com states "On February 24, 2002, the Young Senators included in the GO-GO hall of fame in Washington D.C the Young Senators was the very first GO-GO band to have a number 1 record Jungle." Also, my readers, the members of this great band are Jimi Dougahs, the late Eddie Kendrick, the late Leroy Flemming (Sax), the late Bernard Miles, the late Calvin Charity, James Drummer Johnson(Drums), and Frank Hooker(Keyboard and vocals). As well, moving their bodies to the beat when I listened to their song it makes me feel more appreciated with their music. This shows proves that Northeast Groovers are the awesomest GOGO band in music history. When I first listen to Northeast Groovers music, it made me feel appreciated about 80s music even though it's old school. Sadly, I love to talk to guys more about Northeast groovers but, it's time for me to go until next time this is Kenlaun Mitchell signing off.
