Economies
Today in class we were doing economies. We had to balance a simple paper RPG the our teacher gave us, i think my team did a pretty good job. Now we are adding transactions.

First Week Over... Again
Today is the last day, of the first week, of my second year. We are currently learning about the psychology behind games and why people play them. We have learned about behaviorism and cognitive sections of psychology. It is very interesting learning about the science of why people play.
Can’t wait to make some awesome games with awesome people.

Play Uncharted 4!!!
I picked up Uncharted 4 the other day because my old teacher recommended I play it. In order to see an amazing example of how to lead a player and how to tell a story without words.
Oh my is this game amazing. At no point did i struggle with where to go even though it seems as though you can go anywhere. Every scene has props set up that allow the player to establish what happened there without actually being told. From a messy attic, to all the areas with shoreline (a mercenary company that acts as one of the main antagonists) equipment set up all over the place.
All the audio and effects made for a very immersive experience and every time Nathan began to fall down a cliff, or a bridge broke, you could feel it and it gets your blood pumping
I recommend you pick this game up if you have not already.

This year has been amazing. Enough if it was stress filled and annoying, in the end it was awesome. I have learnt so ,much this year its amazing. I have made many a friend and many a contact in the industry.

Colourblindness and you
So I am colourblind for all those unaware. Yesterday as a class we did 3 different colourblind tests and after all the “seriously you see a 24, its a 6″ kind of comments it was really cool to see everyone else learning about it. We used an app the simulated colourblindness and everyone was looking in there phones trying to find games that are bad for colourblind people whereas i just listed some i have actually played. So yesterday was good to see a whole bunch of people learn about something that is actually really common and learn how to make games in a way that makes them accessible.

I may be feeling like poop at the moment but that didn't stop me from pushing the group in order to get well bellow the line for the next week. Im hoping I will feel better for PAX in the next few days, time to rug up in bed and rest to get over this poopy feeling.

Testers are butts... not really
So yesterday i gathered a whole bunch of names of people who said they would be able to test today. a third of the people decided to change there minds and said they could not test. I also realized we need to put a lot more enthuses on letting the players know how to play the game. We noticed a large variety in how people were playing the game, most of which was not how you should play our game. Though they still had fun doing what they were doing they it wasn't our game. we have made a few changes to our game that are both small in scope, but will largely affect the game. Hopefully these help a lot.
