" when did they become these people? weren't they just some kids in love at a camp not too long ago? what changed them? maybe it was the harsh reality of the celebrity world. maybe it was the newfound fame that mitchie discovered. she wasn't sure but what she did know was that this relationship was slipping through her fingers. it was one that was valuable and precious to her heart. mitchie didn't want to remotely risk losing it in any platform ... if they didn't survive their struggle, oh the tragedy she'd face.

she grabs his hand in hers, biting her lower lip for a moment before speaking. mitchie takes a gulp, anxiety skyrocketing through the roof the more her thoughts processed what their life and relationship would become. " i don't know, maybe ... we need space. " the phrase made her nauseous and dizzy. her heart was breaking, shattering. this was everything she hated. he keeps his gaze on her even as she looks away , as if she'd vanish if he looked away for even a moment . he takes a deep breath at her words , shaking his head a little bit . " i want us to be together , mitchie . always . " he admits , letting the words slip out before he can think twice about it . but it doesn't matter ; its how he feels . no matter how wrong things were going right now . " — but i don't know what happens right now . because something is wrong here , mitchie ; it feels like we're slipping right now . "

even though mitchie becomes rich and famous, she still values school. mitchie manages to get her degree in business at university of southern california and takes an entertainment law course to know how to read her contracts.

MITCHIE : dame besitos (give me kisses) is an album filled with songs that i wrote at my last summer of camp rock. it’s really just love letters to shane that represented our youth and who we were and still are. so mi amor, you better love this album or else the dogs and i are going to sinaloa for the weekend!

INTERVIEWER : there’s this big conspiracy theory about you and shane and these cowboy hats. how the connect 3 fans think he’s leaving the band to form a duet with you instead. it’s trending all over!

MITCHIE : pinche cabrón! no okay so let me explain! what happens is that this man goes into our - my closet - and steals my hats before his shows. i don’t even realize until videos are posted!

INTERVIEWER : does your family approve of your relationship with the connect 3 singer, shane gray considering what his past is like?

MITCHIE : my mami is probably our biggest supporter in the family. i’m the first granddaughter, niece, my parents only child. the first of my generation. it’s not a matter of whether they like him or not. my family is just protective over me regardless of who i date.

TOURING, REPRESENTATION AND THE SINGLES.

MITCHIE : this tour has been an absolute dream come true. i have worked my ass off to get to this point and like it’s showing not only in me, but my friends, family and fans.

MITCHIE : i mean, it's crazy that i'm going to these latin countries to perform my music pero i'm just a girl from inglewood, california. now i'm also considered representation. like when did that happen?

MITCHIE : i love the feedback i’ve gotten about everywhere and my happy ending. i was conflicted about releasing my happy ending because it’s a sad vault song but shane agreed it needed to be added.

ADDRESSING RUMORS AND THE DOCUFILM.

INTERVIEWER : tess tyler was spotted leaving your concert the other night in new york city. care to address the rivalry?

MITCHIE : my abuelita always said: “si no vas a decir nada bueno, mejor no digas nada.” ( if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it at all ) i’m kidding. well, she did say that but, no - tess is great. you just have to … dig deep with her. that’s all i’m gonna say.

INTERVIEWER : you have a new documentary coming out on hbo max about the making of your album, your childhood and your summers at camp rock.

MITCHIE : no yeah! from the wood, with kisses. it talks about everything close to me. to me, it’s the most vulnerable i have ever been with the public about who i really am. where i really come from.

mitchie’s parents met at inglewood high school and were high school sweethearts but connie found out shortly before graduating she was pregnant with mitchie. to be specific, they were 18 when connie got pregnant and 19 by the time mitchie was born. the two eloped and have been in a happy and loving marriage ever since.

mitchie is second generation american on both sides. her maternal grandparents are both from sinaloa, mexico and paternal grandparents are from guadalajara, mexico and both families moved to inglewood, california. she frequently visits her family in mexico as her grandparents left property in mexico to her parents and herself.

it’s tradition that on fridays mitchie’s family and friends from the block get together and connie makes food for everyone!!

" you don't have to say it. i know you. i know us! " it's in their passion for each other. their desire to be together. the look they give. their intimacy went so far beyond something physical. sometimes it scared her the depths of what their love entailed. this was forever ... at least, that's what she always believed. somewhere they went wrong and some aspect went wrong. what mitchie thought was unbreakable cracked. piece by piece, it became a bigger fracture in their relationship. could she survive this earth without him? that seemed unimaginable. impossible.

dark hues roamed the room, looking at anything but him. this was the first time she every found herself in such an unhappy place with him. it felt like they were over but ... they weren't. they couldn't be : [ could they? ] " where do we go from here? " the words came out of her so suddenly it shook her to her own core. it was unanticipated, something even she was shocked to say. " what do you want? "

he's not sure where things took this turn . how they took this turn . it's not how it was supposed to go ; they were good . they had been so good for a while now , something that surprised his brothers , sometimes even surprised him . but its what happens when you're in love , isn't it ? you're the best version of yourself with them , they bring this out of you so easily .

( and , evidentally , they break your heart , not as easily . )

" i'm not asking you to not finish your tour , mitchie . " his voice sounds strained on his end , & he closes his eyes for a moment at her words , teeth sinking into his lip to stop it from shaking for a moment . he would never ask her to not live out her dream , especially not when he & his brothers are on the road themselves now too . this is what's best right now for her & her career , this tour . but as she mentions missing him , he feels that same longing going through him , that lonely chill making him shiver. " i miss you too . a whole lot , " he admits too , eyes opening again as he pauses for a moment . " and i hate missing you like this . "

dame besito (give me kisses) originally only had love songs on it dedicated to her relationship with shane but after their rough patch and some time afterwards, she released a deluxe album with songs she had wrote to describe how she was feeling about the relationship and towards him and even towards herself. it was something honestly healthy for her to get off her chest because it really allowed her to move on since this is the album that had started it all.
