What does your dress say?
As I search the internet or visit popular stores, I can seldom find Modest Women’s Clothing or clothing for tall women given that I am 5 feet 11 inches tall. I find that I have to scan through over 200 dresses before I find one that is modest and modern. The internet is bombarded with short dresses, clubwear, low cleavage, daring cutouts and alter tops. It becomes difficult to find Modest Women’s Clothing, especially for tall ladies. Not to mention, a tall lady who is also a Christian. When I ask, “Why is there not much modest clothing fashion?” I was told that “sexy sells!” Women want to look sexy, attractive, confident and glamorous. Apparently, the less you wear, the more you say. But, what does your dress really say about you? Does that mean that when you exchange the short dresses to the maxi ones, or the miniskirts to the midi, you are less attractive and less confidence? I hope not because confidence comes from within. Modest Clothes does not mean 1920”s, modest clothing can be chic, vintage and trendy. Modest Clothes reflects elegance, sophistication, sweetness, calmness and classiness. Modest Modern clothing provides ease and comfort and does speak louder about who you are inside out. Having modest attire does reflect confidence but a deeper kind of confidence, a kind that says I don’t have to reveal it all to believe in myself. I once saw an expression that states that when you dress immodestly, be careful of the type of men that you attract. Remember being modest says much more than being conservative, it says more about who you are. “You can dress attractively without being immodest. Within the Lord’s guidelines, there is room for you to be lively, vibrant, and beautiful both in your dress and in your actions” Thomas S. Monson.
