I have little to no idea what I'm doing only half the time. One must count their blessings.

Reconstructed floor tiles of a villa urbana in southern germany approx. 110 AD
Today I visited a small archeological site of an ancient roman country estate. I looked at those beautiful tiles and immediately thought how this would make a wonderful quilting pattern.

nr. 5
the key
It can open up doors previously locked for us.
At the same time, the person in possession of the key has the agency to decide who is granted access to something. It gives the ability to filter negative influences from accessing us. It can be a symbol for a secret well kept.

This is nr. 4
Shooting stars stand for the fulfillment of wishes or the appreciation of fleeting joys. They can also mean a new beginning for the journey of the soul.
Don't forget not to tell anyone what you wished for, until it has come true ;)

Nr. 2 and Nr. 3 are finished!
The orange flame is a symbol of the hearth fire or a bonfire and therefore connected with comfort, warmth and community. It's all about a stable home.
In northern germany there is a legend about a dragon-like spirit (Fürdrak, Gluhschwanz) which lives in the fireplace. It brings treasure through the chimney into the house, if the fireplace is kept tidy. (It steals the treasure from other houses, that's what it does ;)
The blue flame on the contrary leads to a journey or action. It symbolizes guidance to the right path. Or a path from the darkness to the light. In some fairy tales the blue flame is a helpful little spirit. It leads to hidden treasure or grants it's masters wishes. (Why is it always about the treasure? Do I look like I know?)
Blue and orange flames can also resemble powers of opposing beliefs. This is fairly common symbolism if you think about it. Zuko and Azula from ATLA, Shoto and Dabi from MHA, ...

Look at this cutie ;)
I started on a blanket with 48 squares, which will be filled with symbols for good luck and other blessings.
This one is from a german folk belief, that a snake with a little crown or ring lives in some houses, barns or caves and brings prosperity, wisdom and/or protection for the lifestock. There are various fairy tales about people who gain such a crown or ring as a present for helping the snake. It usually grants magic power like talking to animals and seeing hidden treasure. Or it can just be a lucky charm. If you offend the snake or try to hurt those who helped it, you will have the worst of luck.
The crown is embroidered and the snake is a patch I made from another fabric and then sewed on.
47 more to go, wish me luck

Just watched arcane s2 and was inspired to write this poem. I think this better fits for Jinx's and Vi's dynamic in s1 though.
I'm not sure I fully understood what happened in the last episodes, I'll probably rewatch, oops. But I will love to. I think Arcane is a masterpiece, art-wise, music-wise and plot-wise.
