"cr spoilers" is a tag I use. just a note A nerd/geek/dork, a wannabe writer, and a bit weird. I enjoy D&D a lot, and most of my posts seem to revolve around that now (either games I'm in or shows like Critical Role).

New D&D character! I decided I wanted to try figuring out different outfits sheâd wear (including a fancy option!)
I originally drew her holding the spear, because pose, but I highly doubt itâs on her all the time, lol. (Also spear into wineglass was a hassle, lol.)
Rokka the Monk, ready to face the world and punch a disease until itâs cured!
#my art#my D&D character#it was fun!#slowly figuring out new ways to do things!#also I can't wait to play her!#but i'll have to#for a couple weeks at least#she was trained by a follower of Pelor#hence the sun motif of the fancy clothes

I was in a 20th level game run by @pathfuckery and it went awesomely! After we killed one, we got an undead tarrasque friend (named Terry) thanks to one of the witches! So hereâs the party riding into battle!
(My druid isnât pictured, because she was an earth elemental at this point and that seemed boring to draw. So letâs just say this is from her POV.)
#d&d#my d&d experiences#tarrasque#it was awesome!#awesome group#awesome game#everything just awesome#also tarrasques are so big#like what is scale even#there's a gnome next to the winged house on the tail#but can you see her?#and the earth genasi is enlarged at this point#everything is just sized weird#also i forgot the back arm#sue me#it's just reaching back#perfectly hidden behind the body#my art

Hey, D&D players!
A Facebook acquaintance of mine is working on her PhD, which involves studying the experiences of people â and particularly women â who play Dungeons and Dragons. (Yeah, sheâs living the dream.) As part of her research, sheâs passing around three surveys.
1. Main survey (open to all D&D players; takes about 10 minutes tops)
2. This survey asks people about their characters - very quick
3. Finally, this survey is aimed at non D&D players.
Please pass these around â letâs help this fellow nerd get a robust dataset! (2/11/20)
@randomitemdropâ, @prokopetzâ, @dungeonqueeringâ, @battlecrazed-axe-mageâ, @yourplayersaidwhatâ, would you mind signal-boosting?

My first character - Samara Semavera - a half-elf bard v. my most recent character - Borna Kruger - a human brawler.

Three figures lay dead along the path. The party recognizes them as the werewolves after getting closer.
The werewolf allies managed to get the jump on whoever killed them, and a bit of the blood and flesh that can be found is not human. (Maybe a high enough check can determine what it is.)
The werewolves have some identifiable wounds. Some claw marks that are too narrow to be another werewolf. Welts of concussive force damage on their chests, over vital organs. Perhaps one was forced to sleep out the battle and was killed without being able to put up a fight.
Could be there's also tracks from where a pie cart was overturned. Perhaps one small, frightened, injured, and starved child managed to wriggle free. If they're found, they could provide a semi-helpful account of what was heard during the battle.
... This is what your situation inspired in me. Maybe it inspires some things in you. I also don't know how long ago the battle was supposed to happen, but after a couple nights it could be worth noting that nothing, not even the undead disturbed it. Strahd could preserve the scene to either win their favor or taunt them for losing allies.
DM Help pls
Sooooooo in Curse of Strahd my players have done a thing and I need a little advice from you wonderful people out there in the tumblr hivemind.
A little background:
The Party have made an alliance with some (Neutral/Good) werewolves after overthrowing the evil pack-leader and promising to rescue the new pack-leaderâs husband from the BBEG.
The party are also aware that some mysterious old ladies have been trading addictive narcotic pies for children in a local town for some unknown nefarious purpose.
Since theyâre in the middle of another quest, theyâve sent a message to the werewolf pack asking them to rescue any children they see being taken by these old ladies, which the werewolves have agreed to do.
What the party and the werewolves donât know is that the old ladies are actually Hags and the one thatâs been taking the children is, in fact, a Night Hag (CR5).
Resolution:
So what I think I want to do is have a small hunting party of werewolves set out to find the old lady and rescue the children. I donât see them sending more than 3 for just one old lady.
Anyway, Iâm thinking that they would lie in wait for her and ambush her to attempt a rescue of the children. Considering that werewolves are CR3 and the Hag is CR5 with at-will magic missile that totally negates the werewolvesâ immunity to physical attacks (plus damage resistance to anything they can hit her with and the ability to go into the ethereal plane at will), I donât see this going well for them but Iâm finding it hard to imagine how this would play out, especially considering that there would be captive children caught right in the middle of this.
So my question is: I want the party to find the aftermath of this battle. What do you think that would look like?
tl;dr: What would the aftermath of a battle between a child stealing Night Hag and 3 werewolves look like?
#dm stuff#advice i can maybe give#just love this community inspiring each other#glad to be a part of that#curse of strahd#curse of strahd spoilers

So a devil was stealing a bag of holding on order to get a magic item inside of it.
A party member stabbed the bag, making sure the item was not in the devil's possession even if the party lost.
I didn't expect that. It was amazing.
#ps: im not angry at my group at all#the caps yelling is a joke and they know it#it was an awesome session#everyone was in agreement on that#dnd#d&d#d&d 5e#my dming stuff

I homebrewed a monster! Donât know how good itâll go. Itâs being used tonight (what, no, I definitely did not decide what todayâs session will be the day of, of course not).Â
But yeah, I did just work out some details and none of the monsters I knew of/could find filled the niche of the monster I wanted.Â
Soul Shepherds are from the Shadowfell (which is sort of a scary limbo in my world) and have the duty to take departed souls to their proper afterlife (should they have one). A couple of these poor guys have wandered through a portal that flickers in and out thanks to the thinning veils between planes. They donât know what to do, so just decide to keep up their roles from the Shadowfell, just with living creatures this time. Letâs hope this works.Â
Also it looks way more thought through after being put together in homebrewery.naturalcrit.com than it did on my phoneâs memo app.Â
#low key proud of it#my d&d stuff#my dming stuff#d&d#homebrew monster#d&d homebrew#hope it works#maybe i'll do an update after playing with it tonight

Would this mean that people with the light cantrip basically just have a little keychain flashlight hooked to their belt loops at all times?
Update your D&D campaign to a more modern setting by changing the Darkness Spell into the wizard just walking to the nearest light switch and turning it off.

So I've got 3 new-ish ttrpg characters happening (or will happen later this week). I decided to make some aesthetic boards with my phone's collage app.
Rava'aislinn the moon elf wielding her mother's old bow. She's not the friendliest, but keeping others at a distance makes it easier to avoid emotional pain.
Wayra, an ex-street racer who's now a mech pilot as well as starship pilot. Nothing beats the freedom of flying.
Mirai, with her familiar Tropos, who tangles and messes with the threads of fate. She's also good at weaving regular threads, but that's not as important.
#my d&d character#the mech one is for a system called lancer#i found these images on pintrest#im not trying to claim them#rava the moon elf#wayra the racer#mirai the thread witch#my creation

New D&D character, Mirai. A witch from @pathfuckery 's homebrew.
I haven't decided what her tattoos will look like yet, so they're not drawn. I'm picturing runes that run up her left arm and across her back and chest. Also not pictured, her owl familiar, Tropos.

My mom doesn't want a dog.
She has a new robot vacuum though. She's been scolding it for trying to go to places it gets stuck over and over again. She tells me "he'll learn eventually"
She doesn't need a dog. She has a dumb robot now.
