Q&A: Every Time He Saves Money for a Business, He Ends up Spending It

Question & Answer from Eagle member: “Every time he saves money to start a business he ends up spending it before starting the business.” This is not uncommon. Starting a business is not just about the ideas. Starting a business requires commitment, dedication, faith, desire, planning, persistence, hard-work, discipline & the list goes on. There will be a-lot of personal growth on your part, to prove that you actually want the business. Here are some suggestions: Discipline yourself to save for your business. Being intentional to save for the business is part of strengthening your ability to commit to starting & growing your business. Start a separate account specifically to save for startup costs. Separating the funds prevents you from using the funds for the wrong things. Determine the kind of business you are passionate about & the startup costs needed. When you are passionate about a project, chances are you will be excited about the processes to lead to its fulfillment. 4.Automate your saving process. Set up a direct deduction with your bank to send funds to your savings account monthly. This is a proven way of making sure your funds are allocated promptly. Depending on the level of desire you have for your business. You’ll protect that asset of yours with your heart including developing the discipline required to make the business work. Remember to commit to the journey if you are going to save up for your initial investment. Train yourself to save, allocate resources, develop inter-personal skills which will be required in business. Therefore, starting a business is a combination of building yourself up as an individual so that you become a better business owner & also developing the disciplines. Otherwise, every weakness you have as you start your business will be highlighted a hundred folds. If you are weak at budgeting, or delegating tasks, it will show in business. #startingabusiness, #discpline, #commitment Read the full article

Why Do We Procrastinate?

Why do we procrastinate? #procrastinate Hello Eagles! How is everybody doing? It's Mother Eagle here. Well, I'm glad you guys are joining me for this live. Today, well it's morning over here in LA. I'm getting my coffee. I was wondering, why do we put off things, why do we procrastinate? Yes, I know, you can go on Google and read up on all the reasons we put off things. The goal is so big, we are unmotivated, all kind of things. But, then I was thinking, "Why do we really, really, really procrastinate?" (Hi, thanks for joining me. Tell us where you're from in the comments.) I really wanted to get to the root of why we put off things. One exercise I know to do, is every time you're trying to get to the root of a personal development issue, is to ask, "Why? Why not?" You have to drill down to almost seven levels of asking why? Every time you get an answer, you ask why, again? With a piece of paper and a pen, get to that issue you're putting off. Ask yourself, why have you put it off? First you say maybe, "Lack of time." Then ask yourself, why? again. Then, maybe you say, "Lack of time." Then keep asking, why? You'll end up somewhere, where maybe it's fear, or just the inability to just do things. Some things just need to get done. It's not the money, it's not the lack of motivation, it's none of that. But, the little root at the bottom is maybe, I don't know, laziness or something. Procrastination can hinder you in every possible way. (Hi Justin, thanks for joining!) Procrastination can hinder you in all kinds of ways, because of the illusion of the things we think we may need. How about if you just go ahead and do it? How about if you have faith, that as you do what you think is logical to do in this moment, the next door will open as you go along. This video, I guess the encouragement here is find that thing you know you need to do. You know you have put off for a long time, but it's necessary to do. Find a logical step that you can do right now, then start doing it. Yes, because sometimes when we look at the whole spectrum of things that need to get done, to get to where we are going. It may look so big, and we fail to start. But, take it just a day at a time. Pick one thing that you can do towards where you're going, and that should be … that should help. Because, sometimes we just assume. Do you know there are projects that you can have, that you've sat on maybe for five years? Is it really the money? Maybe not. Is it really lack of motivation, and you said in those five years you were not motivated at some point? If you were motivated, you chose to put your motivation somewhere else. You keep thinking about these things, and you realize procrastination, it's a dream stealer. It steals dreams. Face it, pick that project that you want, and get started. Let's see here who is on the line. (Hi Adam, welcome! Brenda, welcome …) Justin is saying, "Fear for me …" Okay, yes Justin. Yes, fear is a real issue when it comes to transitioning from nine to five, to self-employment. Your faith has to be built, and you have to walk through your fears. One, if you go to Lifethenfinance.com, I wrote an article there. I'll post it below. It's called, "Transitioning from nine to five, dealing with fear and anxiety." I know that because I dealt with that many years ago when I was transitioning from corporate, to owning my own business. I was so afraid. I would wake up at night anxious. But then, it was the idea that I was doing something different, the idea that I was breaking away from the pack that made me so scared. But, as I went down working through each fear one at a time, you come to find that you can invalidate all of them. Especially when you have a place, and you transition slowly. For example, in Justin's case, you can start building that retail business while you are at work, and you start transitioning through slowly. (Hi John Paul, glad to see you here!) You can build that business, and you start transitioning slowly. The more the business works out, the more confidence you'll get. And, you start working out all those little, little things of, "Do I have the proper suppliers? If I need to make a change, am I employing the right people? Did I train them?" You'll be okay. Anyway, the topic for today is work out that procrastination so that your dream is not killed. Let me see here, "You're right, because I've been having sleepless nights." Yes Justin, it happens to the best of us. Don't feel like you're failing, no. There are many emotions that come with doing something different. Yes, you will encounter all kinds of new challenges that will test your abilities. Guess what? You will grow through them, there will be less ones, there will be stepping stones to the next level. Just deal with one issue at a time. Just remember, you're moving from one level to another, and God himself is guiding, and protecting you, and showing you the way. He'll bring the right people to guide you through every level as you go. Well guys, I better go. It's nice chatting with you always. It's Mother Eagle here, I love you. Take care. Bye. Limitless Says, the View of Life Is Better at Higher Altitudes

Limitless says, the view of life is better at higher heights. It's Mother Eagle here. And I wrote this quote when I was thinking about limitless, the potential we have, the abilities we have. Can you imagine the things we can do, the things we can create if only we allowed ourselves to actually do them and actually create them? We have potential; potential that has been untapped. I encourage you to look within. You don't have to copy. You don't have to be like someone else. Find your own inner genius and go within and be you. Be you because as you shine along the way, other people will tap into your light, and they'll find their way too. We have limitless potential, untapped abilities. You know that little voice that speaks to you and tells you, "Go and try it out. Don't be afraid. All life is supporting you." You know you've heard that voice before. My question to you today is: Will you go out and explore the limitless possibility that is in you? Will you stand up for what you believe is true if and when it contradicts your surrounding? Will you do that? Go out and be you. Be strong. Draw the strength from within. The power is not outside. It's within you. Limitless says, the view of life is better at higher altitudes. This is Mother Eagle. I'll talk to you soon. I love you from my heart to yours. Bye. #MotherEaglequotes, #limitingbeliefs Read the full article

Making a Living vs Making a Life

Making a living vs making a life ... The rules of engagement for making a life are different. You have to engage yourself, unlearn & relearn aspects of yourself, consider past & future generations, let go of things that don’t serve you anymore, find your true self, embrace personal responsibility & accountability..... You are the captain of your ship 🚢.... Hello Eagles, how is everybody doing? It's Mother Eagle here. I hope everyone is doing well. It's Thursday, and we are having a wonderful day. Well, today I was thinking about making a living, versus making a life. The interesting thing is, the rules are totally different. It was sparked off by that quote by Michael Angelo. The rules are so different, because when you think about making a living, right? You can just get plugged in into an existing system, which is our society, or get a job at the office, and everything, you just follow along. It's like being either on a treadmill, or assembly mill. There are always processes, procedures already made. (Hi, welcome!) It's always wonderful, well yeah, wonderful to get into a system of those sorts if you're looking to making a living. Then, if you're looking to making a life, the rules are different. A live means you have to be … Making a life means you have to be present. It means you have to discover the best version of yourself. You have to discover your gifts, you have to polish them, you have to know how to solve them, you have to develop things that no one told us, like compassion, patience, integrity, generosity, all these things. Learning to see the big picture, learning not only to use your mind, but connecting it to your heart. It's a total game changer. Because, the life you want to live, you have to decide what it will look like. Once you decide what it will look like, then you decide the steps to take. They will not be obvious in most cases. It will be something you have to discover. You'll have to go, to jump through hoops, to get to where you want to go. You have to break, and let go of certain things that don't serve you anymore, you see? That is part of making a life for yourself. Making a life means you're thinking about your generations, past and the future. Because, most of us are right there in the middle, where maybe your parents are aging, and you too, have young children, right? Then you're thinking about your children's children, how to leave an inheritance. Thinking about making a life is such a broad spectrum that you really have to be intentional, you have to sit and think through it seriously. Then take steps, then find other people who have your kind of mindset so that they give you encouragement. One of the things I've learned by taking the roads that are less popular, is that not everyone goes with you. Not everyone follows along with you. Because, making a living is an easier way. You get up in the morning, go do what you're going to do, then go home and watch TV, or just chill, right? It's totally different. Welcome, nice to see you all. Let us know where you're from. Yeah, so making a living is one lane. Making a life, is another lane. My question to you today is, what do you want to do? Are you making a living right now, or are you making a life right now? The way society is designed at this point, is most of us who start by making a living, and then transition into making a life for ourselves. What will that mean? That means sometimes you'll be lacking time, because you're spending maybe 40 hours a week in the office. Then after your work, then you have to start on building your life. If you say, "I don't have time, I spend 40 hours at the office." Well, what's your priority? Yes, you'll be, maybe in a day, eight hours at the office, then in the evening, you dedicate maybe four hours to building your life. Because, your life is priority. You dedicate your weekend to building your life. It is priority. It's not easy, but it can be done. It can be done. (Welcome! Thank you. Emma, welcome!) Glad to you have here. Well, as always, make a choice. Do you want to make a living, or do you want to make a life? Then start designing your choice based on this new information you've got. As always, share this video, I love you guys. Have a wonderful day. It's morning here in LA, beautiful morning. Very hot too. All right, bye, love you. Read the full article

Are You Keeping the Main Thing, the Main Thing?

Are you keeping the main thing, the main thing? #priorities, #focus, #goodistheenemyofgreat Hello Eagles. How is everybody doing? It's Mother Eagle here. I hope you're doing well. It's … what's today? It's Tuesday. As you've seen the title, right? Keeping the main thing the main thing. I was reminded of this yesterday when I caught myself the whole day. I was working on something that I know I shouldn't be working on, though I enjoyed it. And I was wondering, are my priorities not right? It was a good thing, but in order to get to the next level, you have to be able to prioritize, to stick to what you know you have to be doing next, versus what you already know how to do. So my priority this week was to work on something totally different, but because I enjoy what I was working on yesterday, though it has no place anymore, I kept working on it. It reminded me of the quotes that goes “Good is an enemy of great.” because most of us are working on things that appear to be good maybe. You can be a giver and a nourisher. (Welcome, thank you for joining!) You can be a giver and a nourisher, giving all your time to things, though they are good, they are not aligned with the goals and where you're trying to go, which causes a real big hindrance. The action point for this week is to look at what you're doing. Are your priorities right? Are you keeping the main thing the main thing? Do you know what your main thing is? That one thing you have to be working on to help you propel to the next level. Are you willing to let go of some of the things? Though they used to be good, they have no place anymore in order to go to the next level. You may have to let go of the good enough and do the things for the next level that will put you on your path to greatness. (Hi, welcome.) So it's just something as an eye opener I guess, to be aware that sometimes we can get stuck in something that's good enough, yet we can do better. And it all goes back to priorities, keeping the main thing the main thing, and maintaining that order. Well, as always, it's Mother Eagle. I'll talk to you soon. Nice seeing you all. Leave your comments below. Love you. Bye. You can also view this video article here. Read the full article

Thinking Out Loud

Thinking out loud ... What if, You believed God’s unconditional love, would you receive it What if, God didn’t want anything from you? Would you know how to rest in his love What if, God’s plan for you is perfect. To give you a hope and a future, would you wait for it patiently with joy & gladness What if, There’s no separation between you & God? Would you trust yourself with the power of God in you & walk in it. What if, There was nothing to do, or places to go, would you know how to be you & go with the nature flow of life. What Are Your Expectations When You Say You Are Ready to Go to the “Next Level”?

Hello Eagles 🦅❤️🦅, What are your expectations when you say you are ready to go to the “next level” ? Considering your “next level” will require a paradigm shift which is a fundamental change of approach or underlying assumptions of how you do things ... Meaning, you have to be ready to change your mind. Learn, unlearn & relearn new ways of doing the same old things, which will produce different results 👌🏾 My encouragement for you today, be open to a world of endless possibilities ❤️ #mothereagle, #nextlevel, #possibilities, #madeformore How is everybody doing? It's Mother Eagle here. I just wanted to check in. I hope everybody's fine. I thank you so much for all your wonderful messages. I do my best to respond to you. And if you're waiting for response, I'll get to you as soon as possible. Today, our topic is next level. I hear that with a lot, we all want to go to the next level, but what does it really mean to you? What does a next level mean to you? What are you trying to do? Where are you trying to go? How are you trying to get there? Have you ever taken the time to actually comprehend what you're asking for? I was thinking about it the other day. Yeah, we think a lot lately, right? Don't only think with your head, but also feel in with your body because some days, when you're thinking just with your mind, if you're very analytical, you will argue yourself in, argue yourself out, and still fail to make a decision. But when you feel with your body, sometimes you will know. You're trained to make a decision, then you're having all that butterflies in your stomach. That's a sign. Check into it a lot. Anyway, thinking about the next level, there has to be a paradigm shift. And a paradigm shift in thinking or approach is just a fundamental change of the basics, of how you do things, of the assumptions you're basing all your decisions on. For example, maybe in a society, you can have the assumption that as soon as you graduate school, you get the big job, and get the big house, and get the dog, and the three kids, and the marriage all in the first two years. I'm just making this up. That may be the assumption. And then you find yourself maybe not accomplishing all those things. And you're wondering what is wrong. Maybe nothing is wrong. Now you may have to get a paradigm shift in order to approach things differently, meaning, you break down that basis. So the assumptions you've been making that as soon as you finish college, you get that big house in the first two years. So your new assumption may be something like ... okay. When I finish school, school doesn't end there. Then there comes personal learning, lifestyle. You become a long life learner. You learn new things, figure out how you want to live, whether you get the business or the big house or you get the marriage. So you change that overall basis, and the overall assumption of how things work. And that's the paradigm. The problem is most of the assumptions we have we've grown up with them. The generations past have lived on these assumptions, and it worked at that time. Right now, some of those assumptions don't work. So we have to rethink most of the things we are doing. And uprooting those assumptions into something different to get that paradigm shift, then move to the next level, that is where the real luck comes in. Own yourself because you'll have to take personal responsibility without blaming the generations past or the generations to come. And take real steps to change your paradigm. Usually the way life has it, it may force you to change paradigm just by life circumstances. For example, if you've been broke for so long, you may be tired and disgusted of being broke, that you force yourself to change the paradigm. You go out searching for personal finance information. You start developing personal finance habits. You're saving, you're investing, you're managing your money, and making sure you're not overspending. Things like that to help you change into the new assumptions you have acquired. And in the process, you find yourself going to the next level. When you're thinking about next level, think that things are going to change. You have to be open to receive new things. Be open to implement the new things you have received. And be able to stick to the new things, keep trying because they will not come natural to you. You will find yourself in situations where you're like, oh my God. This is so new. Should I be afraid? Oh my God. It's way easier if I just stay in that old, same old. But you know that same old thing is not working anymore, so you don't want to stay there either. So when you're thinking about the next level, you should remember there will always be a paradigm shift, and a paradigm shift just means changing the assumptions that you already knew your fundamentals. They're going to change to something different, whatever that something different is for you. That is up to you. Well, as always, this is Mother Eagle. Leave your comments below. And some people were asking me for more videos. Well, we have a new YouTube channel, so check out that YouTube channel. It's Life then Finance. Then check out the website, mothereagle.net or lifethenfinance.com. There are so many videos. Our archive is full from way back, 2011. So you can never run out of information. And remember, we learn by reputation. So keep planning, keep planning, implement, share, teach others what you're learning, so that it can be cemented and concreted into you, so that it's second nature. As always, I love you guys. Talk to you soon. Bye. Read the full article
