obviously it is brilliant and scathing and still relevant to our world today, and it is also hilarious. valerie was not only a gifted thinker but her turn of phrase is decisive and wry and utterly distinct. like i love the contents of the manifesto but i also love her Voice as an entity unto itself
but again uncool people will never know this, because if any criticism of XYs isn't padded with a full paragraph of the most bloodless caveats you've ever seen (cishet gender conforming able-bodied mentally sound middle or upper class white men with IQs of 85 or higher) they shit their britches and die

17 year-old Juliane Koepcke was sucked out of an airplane in 1971 after it was struck by a bolt of lightning. She fell 2 miles to the ground, strapped to her seat and survived after she endured 10 days in the Amazon Jungle.
After ten days, she found a boat moored near a shelter, and found the boat's fuel tank still partly full. Koepcke poured the gasoline on her wounds, an action which succeeded in removing the maggots from her arm. Out of 93 passengers and crew, Juliane was the only survivor of the LANSA flight 508 crash that took place December 24th, 1971.

i made a post on my old blog about how women should not cape for random men on the internet because those men wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire and the notes were so embarrassing
like men in general do not have solidarity with women. i have seen maybe a handful of believably genuine posts or comments or whatever from men about how great women are—strong, intelligent, funny, capable of amazing things, deserving of respect and dignity—as opposed to like 10 new posts every other day about how men are so sweet and have soft bellies uwu and how it's akin to murder to make small dick jokes
as this woman says, get a fucking grip
