Some people in the queer community need to stop being terrified of beards and facial hair, especially when it’s not on a gentle soft muscle chub binary gay man or on trans men. Nonbinary people and lesbians who have facial hair do not deserve to feel as alienated from their communities just because they have facial hair. Amab enbies can have beards and present masc while still being nonbinary the same way that afab people can still use makeup and still be non-binary.

If you think it’s crummy to just assume being non-binary is just woman lite, then we have got to make queer spaces more friendly and accepting of men and masc people in general. Otherwise you start getting terfy and falling into the very same rhetoric you claim to hate. And that’s not even touching on the harm this gatekeeping is causing to those diagnosed with PCOS, a hormonal condition that can cause excessive body hair growth in cis women. Masculinity is not ugly and queerness does not equal the exclusion of masculinity nor the presence of femininity. We are a community, not a “no boys allowed” club. This isn’t Drag Race where the least campy queer loses and gets sent home, we’re all trying to fucking survive here.
