Well, Willy Wonka as a God is a popular interpretation so it's not far off

we never know about 2005 wonka's mother so I would say he is a demigod of hecate, so it makes sense because of how he's the only capable magical stuff person in a logical, non-fantasy world. and you can't tell me dr. wonka wasn't the one to summon hecate to move his entire house lmao.

the monsters simply avoid him because of how whimsy and unhinged he already looks. also the way he's probably the only one who knows such non-existent places like the loompa land (because that place is in his mother's domain) henceforth mere mortals don't acknowledge, so that's why it never exists in map. and he would run away from camp half blood out of spite after tasting nectar and ambrosia because he wants to make them himself.

The recent Wonka movie shows a trap many writers fall into—making characters too likable. The 1971 movie shows what to do instead.

I watched Timothée Chalamet’s recent turn with Willy Wonka. I liked it, but I didn’t love it. I feel like people forget that he’s a bit of an adrenaline junkie. He went exploring in a dangerous jungle with a machete. He clearly has a blast on the boat ride when everyone else is horrified (except Charlie). He has almost no reaction when elevator drops and jerks around. He put Charlie and Grandpa Joe on it and hit Up and Out, not even knowing if they’d survive. Our baby girl has that Freudian Death Drive. Is he just a thrill seeker or is he like…. passively suicidal?
