PHOTO MONTAGES
Collectively creating four photo montages which combine humans and non humans, this explores the relationship they is explored within Victoria Dock.
This is includes the Seagull which actively explores both land and water in a traverse manner, the occupancy of this non human would need to be a key consideration, whilst also adapting the next photo montage to explore the influence of tourism, this involves the high foot traffic, changed lighting conditions and also the key buildings which become of higher focus when exploring this human client. The originally chosen Sand Whiting, adapted to show its connection with the other human client, being the fisherman, perhaps an ironic adaptation as its a unique relationship due to the role a fisherman plays on the non-human. This montage instead shows the fish occupying the fishing boat and next to no sign of humans, except the foot print on that path. These are all combined in the last iteration in an almost chaotic manner, whilst also introducing more key artefacts/life from the dock, a specific need for controlled chaos is needed in the development of Victoria Dock and how to house the non human and human combination

TASK 1B: SAND WHITING PROTECTIVE CAST
Exploring a design which absorbs vibrations, whilst also reflecting the intensity of the vibrations within the water.

Continuing to develop prototypes for the design, exploring the design and how it can fix to sand whiting of different size whether this meaning a design which can be oriented differently depending on size or having folding plates that will contour, a design implementation that will have to be thought of closely as the whiting vary from their typical size of 25cm up to 55cm which is a astronomical difference

Continuing to explore the client and the specific shape and form to create the protective cast, with the idealistic design not restricting the clients movement and focusing on the idea of removing the effects sound pollution and vibration have on sand whiting

Initial Design Proposal: Exploring sound pollution within Victoria Dock and the effects this has on the fish within the environment, the sound generates vibrations. Highlighting the prone areas on a sand whiting when these vibrations occur, specifically the dorsal and pectoral fin which cant operate as they need to in this scenario causing a lose of balance and disorientation to occur to the whiting.

40 minute prototypes developed with a similar motif though differing significantly in final form with a stronger focus on contouring to the client and looking at which body parts needed to be focused on more whilst not restricting the client.

Prototypes for protective cast, exploring the stabilising fin and the effects of vibration and sound within the water, with fish becoming disoriented and unbalanced. Such large human and mechanical occupants within the area see this continuously becoming an issue within the environment
