Years ago, before the advent of all of the current social media platforms became the rage; I chose Heifer as my go to charity. It was total serendipity as I was not looking for them at all and yet; I received the most interesting catalog I'd ever seen: World Ark. As I went through each page and saw all of the work and the countries they served and as I studied it more; I came to realize this wasn't just your average charity. You know; the ones that are "give it to the poor because they need help?" Not that I am knocking those charities. I found that not only was Heifer doing that but they were teaching people in villages and at their base camp on how to sustain themselves: The Teach a Man to Fish Way. Not only that, it was nearing Christmas and I had no idea what to get my friends that year so long ago. They had everything and then some. I asked myself, "What in the world can I get them? They have it all already?" Then I turned the page of World Ark and saw their program to purchase animals in a person's name in lieu of gifts. I had my list of who already had everything. You know--the people who are just hard to buy for.... I started small with a flock of chicks in Peru. I knew the power of their pay it forward program for the recipient and that it worked. I kept going. I was determined to put people's name and impact in as many countries as I could. Some I did anonymously and others received their "Surprise! Here's what you did in Peru!" Card. I kept going. I told my students about it. They created a "Challenge Team Board" (that was so cool back then). Heifer is more than a handout-it's a hand up into a better way of living and community. If you saw the TedX speech or even if you remember Oprah Winfrey's "Save our Children" efforts and school--perhaps you will be inspired to give back too. All you need is one person, one reason, one decision and one word coupled with a YES to keep going and often that person is you! Hats off to Heifer International from a now "big girl" who had no idea what to buy the wealthy or hard to shop for during the holidays over a decade ago! This is part of why I give and why I am passionate about letting girls learn and why I am fully committed to the empowerment of women, diversity and global economic sustainability. Above all; I am a woman with an Education and I would hope that if the tables were turned; someone would think enough of me to provide me with an opportunity to help myself get out of poverty and into school. Dignity is a deed that should have everyone’s name on it. Thank each of you for standing with me in your commitment to see change in the way women are not only viewed globally but also positioned in their marketplace.
Watch the Video and Help Pay It Forward! This is my Charity of Choice 10 years and counting. Now I invite you on Social Media to join me in serving others! With Gratitude, Natasha Stevens

It IS possible to walk on water as long as you remember Peter walked by Himself while his boys watched.... http://www.neveragainministries.com/helping-wrong-people/ Written for Shon Hyneman, a very cool brother in Phoenix, Arizona. His wife is even cooler. When I 1st wrote this as a guest blogger I was 100% honest and I still am. I just have an awakening as to helping the wrong people. Stay Tuned for the Turn Up on Television.

Let’s talk about Esther shall we? Proverbs 21:1 says: “The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turns it wherever HE wills." I have heard people say to pray that whoever is over you or whoever you submit to that if they are not treating you fairly to pray for the Lord to turn their hearts towards you and your situation. But when I look at the verse and cross parallel it with Queen Esther’s Story; that prayer sounds more like manipulation. God is a sovereign God and the verse is clear: His Omnipotence will decide where HE turns a "King’s heart.” Esther had favor with the king but that favor she had nothing to do with. Do you want to know the truth about why the King’s Heart turned towards her when she ran to him in a crisis? Not because she was beautiful. Not because she was elegant. Not because she learned “Kingdom Protocol.” The King’s Heart was turned by God through her because she out of all the people he had trusted before did one thing they didn’t: She told him the TRUTH. She didn’t care about losing her crown or her position or her status. She cared about the lives and the land she came from. She was “Myrtle” before she was “Made." If you can risk all earthly things by being honest with those you serve and even risk relationships of any kind by being honest; you have an unseen crown. Wear it with Humility and trust in God. One cool thing about Esther—she was not afraid of the crowds. One pep talk from Mordecai and a host of people fasting and praying and above ALL: God’s Sovereignty. The TRUTH made the king angry. The truth made him hurt. The truth made him experience a lot of emotions; however, the TRUTH turned it–entreat that I might find favor with the king-Esther Know who to call on to pray in a crisis and be as Esther-Quiet, Assured and Fearlessly Honest!

While some of this “pop info” is dated and some couples aren’t fully one ethnicity; this brought some much needed light to society. While none of this is new; many women of color having been a slave mistress of their masters and by no means are any of these or other women who have chosen to date and marry outside of their race; I was intrigued for many reasons-one being personal. First of all as a mixed woman in America who identifies with being a black woman; as many of us have heard from some of our “brothers” the myriad of “reasons” they chose to leave the “drama queen black women and date the "easy going White Chick or submissive Asian or hot Latina” none of those labels coming from African American males for any woman are acceptable. Sure; it is your choice but do remember that we as women have choices as well and some of my sisters are just as fed up with you! And they are loving with no drama!
My real first “boyfriend” was white. We dated when we lived in Spain and beyond. Like me; he experienced reverse racism having lived in Grambling and his parents the friends of other African American Professors. Crosses were burned in their yards with “Nigger Lover” spray painted on their home. He was boo'ed while playing with the Grambling Marching Band. Not by the band who asked him to play at age 14 because he was so gifted but by the crowds. The fans. The Paparazzi if you will. We shared what undoubtedly many interracial couples shared and at our age we did just like these couples: Ignored everyone and kept it moving! You love who you love and Kermit is green! Marriage is meant to be forever. Date who you like and marry who you like and you will love them forever! Sure it may be hard on “the poor kids who have to grow up in a racist world,” but therein lies your responsibility as parents and leaders to teach the essence of love!

Finally..... An Author and a Filmmaker and Finance Liaison can take a real break and cheer for all the women and young girls on 3 continents that can say without flinching: I AM FREE. Young boys and male entrepreneurs with little to no assistance can discover what a Freedom Dream really is. It's been a long time coming and I am so proud they they are taking the leap for themselves. They've challenged me and they have pushed me to the edge---none of us were satisfied to stay on the edge. When you're given a mandate by God; it's on His Watch and it's His way. Timing belongs to Him but Freedom belongs to you. Stay Tuned America and let Freedom reign in your lives too. It's so not what you think and it's not about us at all. We go through things for people that we don't even know. Can't even speak their language; except one: LOVE. In every culture the symbol is a heart. ❤️
