DAILY LIFE IN GAZA

This is a rough summary of my life in northern Gaza. It doesn’t showcase the constant noise, the fights due to being packed in a small room for almost two years, the smell, the mosquitoes, the terrible taste of the unclean water, and the hours spent trying to find a way to convince strangers to help us. This is only a small part of the humiliation we’re suffering.

I’m unhealthy and deeply depressed, I want this to end, I see no future for us, but I swear I’m trying my best to be okay. I still study and complete my university projects despite having lost my ability to focus or to memorize anything. I’m still taking care of my siblings and my grandmother. I still scroll through Instagram to try to feel even the smallest amount of joy. It’s just so hard. I want to stay lying down on my uncomfortable mattress forever. I want to give up. I would give up if it wasn’t for my family.

Please help us. I swear I don’t know how else to ask anymore. No explanation can convey how expensive life is in northern Gaza now. Everything helps, even just sharing, so please do it. It’s just one second of your life, please.

Etaf and her family need your support.

Etaf is a wife and mother of 5 from Ghazzah. Last year, she and her family's home was destroyed, a long with her husband's source of income and their car.

They were displaced for 200 days, all the way induring the hellish tribulations of genocide. Luckily, they were able to flee into Egypt; however their struggles are not over.

Due to their lack of income, Etaf and her husband struggle to provide their children with food, clothing, and education. On top of that, they are struggling to pay the rent on their house as winter approaches.

In order to help Etaf's children continue their education and to help the whole family afford basic necessities, they need to raise €100,000. So far, they've only managed to raise €5,690 and their last donation was 18 hours ago.

You know the situation in Gaza, for more than a year we suffer every minute we live.

I had a beautiful life, but the war destroyed everything, destroyed my dreams, I lost my job, my whole house was turned into rubble and our car became a wreck.

I suffered the horrors of war every day in Gaza, we were struck by fear, terror, cold, and severe hunger, and my children were afflicted with diseases due to epidemics.

Food is very expensive, and if we find it, we do not have the money to buy it, and the same applies to medicine.

I sleep at night crying because my children go to bed hungry and I cannot feed them.

I search every day for a piece of bread for my children so that we can stay alive, and I rarely get help.

I live in a poor tent made of cloth that does not protect from the heat of the sun during the day, the cold of the night, or the rain of winter.

I move and flee from one place to another to escape danger, but danger is everywhere.

I wish this war would end while we are alive so we can live in safety and have a home where we can forget the painful suffering of war and bring a smile back to my children's faces and create for them a life they deserve. Please 🙏 help us survive so we can live a better life ❤️.

marah @freepaleatine95 is a young woman in gaza and she and her family need our help. marah was studying computer science before the occupation destroyed her dreams, and now she is displaced in a flimsy shelter with her family, where they struggle to provide themselves with even basic necessities.

i humbly ask you to consider donating to marah and her family so that they may be able to procure food, water, medicine and better shelter for themselves as winter approaches. these funds are being used not only for marah's immediate family including her parents, who both have diabetes and need medical attention that is not available in gaza, but also for marah's married sisters' families, which include young children.

I've been messaging back and forth with @mohammedalanqer after he shared his fundraiser with me, and very quickly into our conversation I offered to draw a comic about him to help boost his gofundme. he was incredibly excited about the idea and shared so many lovely pictures of his family for reference. the text is based off his story of him and his family living under constant bombardment, which you can read here.
