Camera views and storyboards
I drew out and labeled the camera movement and scene changes in my own sketchbook, which gave a basic reference to the style of the project and the rendered video.
The 10-second cyberpunk animation storyboard aims to convey a dual perspective on the future city through the depiction of a miniature square street corner. On one hand, it showcases the elements of cyberpunk, such as technological prosperity, towering buildings, and futuristic cars. On the other hand, it highlights the decay and squalor of the city's lower layers. The gradually illuminating neon lights symbolize hope and vitality. Through the play of light, the abandoned streets and aged structures become mysterious and captivating, expressing the undiscovered potential and possibilities that still exist in the city's underbelly. Overall, this brief animation seeks to communicate complex emotions about the future city, emphasizing the juxtaposition between technology and societal issues, while revealing a glimmer of hope amidst the ruins.

Basic light attempts
I exported the file to .fbx format so that I could do the most basic experimentation with light in Windows, I would try various angles and colors of light and then pick the one that best suited the style of the image
Lighting Options
46 degree angle
HSV
Light 1: #FF28C9 Light 2: #6EEA2 Light 3: #D32E2E
The main light source is on the front side, so you can see the details of the object more clearly
287 degree angle
HSV
Light 1: #2DFF34 Light 2: #E8E8E8 Light 3: #000000
The theme color is too green, and the overall light source is the left side of the light, highlighting the outline and tension of the image
146 degree angle
HSV
Light 1: #35227A Light 2: #FFFFBC Light 3: #FF4400
The image is too warm, which can leave the scene in a twilight state

1.4 Initial ideas and inspiration

Dreamhome Stories of Art and Shelter

Cube room

Sketch
i refer to the precedents and the 'Dreamhome Stories of Art and Shelter' works, which have inspired my design, and from 'Dreamhome Stories of Art and Shelter' I get a certain inspiration: dreams and reality are not completely separated. From 'Dreamhome Stories of Art and Shelter' I got a certain inspiration: dream and reality are not completely separated. So I am going to make my project in the form of an interior, based on the cyberpunk style, to make an interior space in the form of a cube, and at the same time to separate each floor in layers, each floor has a different style and story

About Futurism (artistic and social movement of the 20th century)
I looked up my undergraduate coursework on the history of modern western art, and Cyberpunk's worldview is predominantly futuristic, with people living in anti-utopian forms, which led me to conduct in-depth research on futurism in order to allow me to better understand the style of Cyberpunk
Artists of futurism
1.Russolo 2.Carrà 3.Marinetti 4.Boccioni 5.Severini
Manifesto, 20 febbraio 1909
The Futurist Manifesto is a manifesto published in 1909 by the Italian poet Filippo Tommaso Marinetti. In the manifesto, Marinetti expressed a philosophy of art known as Futurism, which consisted of a rejection of the past and a celebration of speed, machinery, violence, youth, and industry.
Russolo, Solidità della nebbia, 1912
Depicts a group of people walking in the darkness of the night, but the real protagonists of the painting are the propagation of light through the fog (thought to be a materialization of the atmosphere), rendered through a series of concentric circles that they expand in two directions (upward from the source of the light, and downward from the source of the light reflecting off the earth). The subjects are difficult to recognize: they could be people walking down a street illuminated by streetlights, or a group of soldiers of war marching through the night fog
Sant'Elia, Stazione d'aeroplani con funicolari e ascensori stradali, 1914
Futuristic architect Sant'Elia is known primarily for his anti-utopian buildings. These buildings are dominated by clean forms, ordered lines, and materials such as iron and glass. The main focus is on façades, symmetry, and unadorned linear designs.
Fritz Lang, Metropolis, 1927
Metropolis is a 1927 German expressionist science fiction silent movie. The movie's visuals are futuristic and cubist in nature
In futuristic artwork, the environment is composed of technology and skyscrapers, while the buildings are angular to express a sense of power and oppression. Overall, the environments are depressing and fantastical.

1.2 Refinement of visual elements
Some cyberpunk visual elements:
Hacking, cyberspace, scanning, holographic projections.
Artificial intelligence, bionics, prosthetics.
Skyscrapers vs. slums, neon cities vs. barren lands with bad weather.
High-tech vehicles, bizarre costumes, and more. What form do they take ??

1.1 Conceptual design stage
First of all, the cyberpunk world needs to have a timeline, the era and the degree of technology is closely related, so that the right items appear in the scene that should appear, for the future is not absolute, everything is possible, but the design of obeying the law will make people more convincing. And in the past works can be seen, people's perception of the sense of technology is also a big change, the early cyberpunk works like to use a lot of cables to express the sense of technology, and now Apple's minimalist design, holographic projection is more technological, so we should abandon the outdated elements in the classic cyberpunk, to the future to unfold the imagination.
Chicago in Reality
Chicago in ''Watch Dogs''
For the planning of the entire world, generally will be a realistic city as the prototype, such as GTA5's Los Santos, Watchdogs 1 ~ 3 were based on Chicago, San Francisco, London as a prototype, LD according to the text speaks of the division of the wild and the city area, that for the Cyberpunk for the wild setting is generally experienced after the destruction of the war in the barren wasteland, bad weather and barren land, there are abandoned factories and poor people's strongholds, and the city's skyscrapers and the slums to form a stark contrast

Idea
Cyberpunk is a fascinating culture and subgenre of science fiction that blends highly advanced technology with extreme societal issues, creating a future world that is both futuristic and filled with darkness and chaos. In the cyberpunk universe, the problems of a high-tech society often exacerbate themes of inequality, corruption, abuse of power, and moral dilemmas, making it a culturally significant phenomenon with deep societal critiques.
The world of cyberpunk is typically characterized by elements such as urban crime, black-market trading, bio-enhancements, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence. These elements collectively construct a challenging and perilous environment that prompts people to contemplate the interaction between humanity and technology, as well as the potential impacts of technological advancement on society. Protagonists in cyberpunk works are often lone rebels who strive to find justice or freedom in this dystopian future.
One intriguing aspect is that cyberpunk is not merely a fictional art form; it also has profound connections to real-life concerns. As technology continues to advance, we are indeed facing ethical and moral challenges similar to those depicted in cyberpunk works, such as the development of artificial intelligence, encroachments on privacy, digital surveillance, and the exacerbation of social inequality. Therefore, cyberpunk works can be seen as a warning about potential future problems and a reflection on how we should address these issues.
In summary, cyberpunk is a unique and profound cultural phenomenon that serves as more than just entertainment; it is a crucial window into contemplating the relationship between technology and society. Through dark and highly futuristic narratives, it triggers reflection on technology ethics, freedom, justice, and humanity, making it an inspiring and thought-provoking subject.

I have an interest in punk culture and futuristic worlds.
The following is a summary of my research and knowledge, which will inform my future modeling work
Cyberpunk culture is a subculture heavily influenced by science fiction novels, movies, and games that focuses on highly technological futuristic worlds and usually includes the following elements:
1. **High technology and low quality of life**: the future world in cyberpunk culture is filled with highly advanced technology such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, mechanical modifications, and skyscrapers. However, this world is usually accompanied by social inequality, crime-ridden and depraved urban environments, making the quality of life low for most people.
2. **Cybermodification**: Human modification and mechanical modification are common occurrences in cyberpunk worlds. People can augment their abilities with microchip implants, robotic arms, and other high-tech modifications. This raises many questions about human identity and ethics.
3. **DIGITAL SOCIALIZATION**: The importance of virtual socialization and the Internet is high in cyberpunk works. People often communicate through virtual reality worlds, social media, and the internet rather than interacting face-to-face.
4. **POLITICAL AND SOCIAL RESISTANCE**: Cyberpunk culture often contains themes of resistance and revolution. People at the bottom of society may organize against powerful tech companies or unaccountable governments.
5. **Hacker Culture**: Hackers are common characters in the cyberpunk world, and they play an important role by cracking systems, stealing information, and overthrowing authority.
Overall, cyberpunk culture explores the tensions between technology and society, emphasizing the ethical and moral issues that a highly technological future may bring. It reminds us that while technology brings progress, it also requires careful thought and ethical trade-offs to ensure a more just and sustainable future. This culture has inspired profound reflection on technology and humanity, and has continued to evolve in art, literature and media.
