SETUP & INSTALLATION OF THE MYWIFIEXT MX1200 WI-FI RANGE EXTENDER

Extender Setup and Installation:
Use Wi-Fi Protected Setup to set up the Mywifiext MX1200 (WPS) Make that your router is turned on, connected, and broadcasting. Set theMywifiextMX1200's On/Off switch to on and connect it to an electrical outlet in the same room as the router.
This is just for setup; you'll transfer it to the best spot afterwards.
You can then go ahead and hit the WPS button on your router, which is usually situated on the back or side of the unit, until the Mywifiext MX1200's Too Close and Too Far red lights are blinking simultaneously (this can take up to 35 seconds).
For at least one second, press the WPS button on the Mywifiext MX1200. Wait until one of the range lights on the Mywifiext MX1200 is solidly lighted. That indicates a strong connection with the router.
Move theMywifiext MX1200 to the room you'd like to extend from and plug it into an electrical outlet. It should take about 20 seconds for the unit to power up and sync with the router, and the light panel should indicate whether you're much too close, too close, much too far, a bit too far, or in a good location. You should be able to discover the sweet spot where the green LED is solidly lighted after some trial and error. It's important to remember that the Mywifiext MX1200 can only extend one band at a time, either 2.5GHz or 5GHz. In a bigger home, 2.4GHz is a good option, while 5GHz is perfect for HDTV streaming and gaming, given that the end devices can see the 5GHz band. The trade-off is that 2.4GHz networks normally have a longer range but slower speeds, whereas 5GHz bands have a shorter range but much quicker speeds. Turn on the wireless feature on your phone, tablet, or laptop and browse the various networks after the Mywifiext MX1200 is in the ideal place, lighted solidly green, and on the appropriate band for your home and devices. If your router's 2.4 GHz network is named MOTO1234, the Mywifiext MX1200's now extended network will be named MOTO1234-EXT, and if your router's 5GHz network is named MOTO1234-5G, theMywifiext MX1200's now extended network will be named MOTO1234-5G-EXT5G. It's important to remember that the device can only lengthen one band at a time. Don't expect to see anything ending in 5G-EXT5G if your 2.4GHz band is being expanded. Enter the wireless password/key for your extended network. The wireless password/key is the same as the one you use to access your router's networks, which is either the default on the router's bottom sticker or a personal password if you modified it at any point. Go to Mywifiext MX1200 Wi-Fi Range Extender: Personalization to learn how to change the name of the extended network and the login credentials if necessary. Without using WPS, set up the Mywifiext MX1200. You can try a manual configuration if your router doesn't have a WPS button or if the WPS setup failed. A Setup Device, such as a computer or laptop that may be wired via Ethernet or a laptop, tablet, or Smartphone with a wireless connection and an internet browser, is required for the manual setup. In this strategy, a wired setup is strongly recommended. Disconnect the Ethernet wire or switch off the Wi-Fi connection to ensure that your Setup Device is turned on but not linked to the internet.
Set the Mywifiext MX1200's On/Off switch to on and connect it to an electrical outlet in the same room as the router. This is just for setup; you'll transfer it to the best spot afterwards.
Connect your Setup Device to the Mywifiext MX1200 with an Ethernet wire if your Setup Device has that port with the provided cable once the Mywifiext MX1200's Too Close and Too Far red lights are flashing concurrently (this can take up to 35 seconds). Look for MOTO-EXT or MOTO-EX5G in your Setup Device's list of possible wireless networks if you want to connect your Setup Device to the Mywifiext MX1200 wirelessly. The Wi-Fi Extender Login page may open immediately in the browser on your Setup Device. If this is not the case, open a browser window on your Setup Device and type SetupExtender.net into the address bar. When you type SetupExtender.net into your browser, you can get a splash page.
If any of the Red methods are used to connect your Setup Device If this is the case, make sure you're using a Green way to connect to theMywifiext MX1200 using your Setup Device (listed below as Your Device, Your Phone, or Your Ethernet-capable device): The setup page's login password is Motorola. The Quick Setup is what it's called. At the bottom of the page, click the Start button. A list of available Wi-Fi networks should be presented. Select the wireless network of your router, i.e. the network you want to extend. This may be called MOTO1234 or MOTO1234-5G (depending on which band you've set the Mywifiext MX1200 to extend) or Smith Residence or Smith Residence-5G if you've renamed your networks. Click Finish after entering the wireless password/key for the router's wireless network.
TheMywifiextMX1200 lights will flash, and you will get a Congratulations prompt in your browser after about 15 seconds; click OK to continue because the configuration was successful. Move the Mywifiext MX1200 to the room you'd like to extend from and put it into an electrical outlet. It should take around 20 seconds for the unit to start up and sync with the router. If you're much too close, too close, much too distant, a little too far, or in a good spot, the light panel should indicate it. You should be able to discover the sweet spot where the green LED is solidly lighted after some trial and error. Go toMywifiext MX1200 Wi-Fi Range Extender: Personalization to learn how to change the name of the extended network and the login credentials if necessary.
