The animatic takes advantage of movable camera and objects to tell the creative group the general direction objects should be moving. During production of the animatic I took sounds to help scenes express the mood by adding a constant unchanging drum beat to keep the audience guessing on what will happen next. The Jet Plane sounds follow the script of the golf balls described as passing over the pond with the speed of jets. colour coding to make fish stand out from environment.
Worked on facial expressions to determine which fish is talking and looking. Will need to work on easing to make motions look more believable.

This was the result of using my limited drawing skills to draw simple shapes to depict a pond within a golf course. Wide shots were mostly used to set up the pond and allow the golf ball to enter the scene while still making the fish stand out.
During class I used the idea of drawing shades showing where shadows, objects and characters were. I also figured that drawing the objects/characters that are used in the scene first will help establish the scene and make it less stressful trying to add new objects/characters to the scene.

This was the current state of the storyboard, lacking use of proper camera shots and perspective I proceeded to redraw all of these panels with proper shading.

Storyboard final part 2. I’ve yet to figure out perspective, made a little effort to make a long shot of the pond within the golf course, to show off the golf ball’s speed by making it speed over a large distance to fit the script’s intention of advertising a stronger and straighter trajectory with Ezone golf club.

Storyboard final part 1
With the new shots after the first golf ball lands in the water, the scene isn’t as confusing as the camera will simply zoom and pan out from shot 5 to shot 6.

All Boards except the top first board were meant to be in the latest storyboard but were found to break the 180 rule. After the first board, the next shots force the camera to turn exactly 180 degrees, so the fish on the left side of the shot becomes the fish on the right side in the subsequent shots, confusing the viewer.

These are the thumbnail drafts for different parts of the script read from left to right, top to bottom. The parts includes the introduction shot that is meant to be an establishing long shot of the pond. The thumbnail directly right is a long shot showing the golfer while the camera is right above the pond with reeds, which can lead up to the camera panning down to unveil the fish in the pond. The 5th thumbnail is a rough of the camera view after panning the camera down to ground level, showing the fish and the rock that is used later in the script. The 6th thumbnail is meant to show the fish hiding behind the rock while a fish stunned from a golf ball floats up. The 8th and 9th thumbnails shows the scene of the fish above the pond surface with a top down shot, though it was not referenced for further development because the a wider shot can show the speed of the golf ball instead of a top down close shot. The rest of the thumbnails are ideas for the final few seconds of the scene where a fishing hook lands after the fish submerges back underwater.

This is the basic floor plan to help with creating the storyboard. The blue Circle is the pond while the area to the right is the hill where the golfer will be shown on camera to establish the plot of the animation.
