I was everywhere but not here

Sorry isn’t big enough to say apologies for being lost so long. The Shop went crazy so many orders. YAY! Like that! But I lost time everywhere. I had so many shop updates, new bags, exclusive sets. Don’t worry you gonna see them in due time.

Where should I begin? First of all some Crochet-Blanket Updates. My first blanket I started is no longer mine. We have a visitor cat, that loved the crochet from the first loop onwards and it is pretty time consuming if the cat lays on the blankie and you try to crochet on it. Even when the blanket was not wider than two rows, Püppi (the cat) throw herself onto it. A very sweet picture.

Have a look at the tongue. So sweet. Aww!

Shortly before Püppi got hold of it I was able to catch a picture.⠀

One third is finished. Maybe one day when Püppi looses interest in it I will be able to work on it again. Hopefully.

But what is a household without a crochet blanket I hear you say. Well nothing. I chained a new one right away.

It is not very wide - but slowly but surely it will grow - fingers crossed.

Crochetblanket Progress

Here is my progress on the scraps of scraps blanket. Normally I would highly doubt, that I like that crochet item. But I very much like this thingy.

On the third picture you’ll see the biggest lover of my blanket. My cat Püppi. The blanket is about as wide as a scarf. But Püppi knows how to kneat and push that she can have a good lay down on it.

This blanket has got a little Story.

I am an 70s kid. Due to that fact all things crochet scare me and I did not like them at all. I appreciate the work and effort that went in it but it is not my cup of tea. There are still nightmares about ill fitted crochet bikinis at the poolside happening at night. Thank god my Ma didn’t forced me to wear such a thing. For the christ of me I still don’t know why adult women did it volunatrily? Still don’t know.

Now then, Mrs. Sarahlinde liebt Wolle is to blame for this. On monday evening I sat down to watch one of me favourite podcasts. “Sarahlinde liebt Wolle” and she showed her Granny Stripe Blanket. Boooooom! Drooling began. At something crochet? Wow! I rushed to grab some Sockyarn scraps and blew the dust from some crochet hooks. Pulled the pattern out of uncle Google. Instant chaining and there it is: Scrapblanket out of the Scrapblanket scraps. I didn’t want to. So Sorry! For Real! Entschuldigung.

May I introduce: my very first needlecase

Its been a long time since I sewed my first needlecase. Over a year of constant development and effort I am proud to introduce you to my very first needlecase for knitters and crocheteurs out and about. You have all your beloved knitting/chrocheing essentials, such as a gauge, scissors, dpns, circular needles or a crochet hooks on hand. Every thing and more fits in it. You get plenty of space.

My new needle cases will be released during my next shop update. That will happen this week. I will report back when. :-D

There will be lots of colours and different lining fabrics. Something for everyone. If you can't find something you are looking for ... please do not hesitate to contact me.

Meine ersten Nadelmappen

Ihr Lieben! Endlich ist es so weit: nach über einem Jahr der Entwicklung, viel Schweiß, Tränen und Nachdenken darf ich Euch endlich meine erste Nadelmappe für Unterwegs vorstellen. Dieses Täschlein hat alles, was das Herz begehrt. Ihr habt jede Menge Platz für alle Eure Schätze die ihr Unterwegs so gerne dabei haben möchtet. Ich habe darauf geachtet, dass in die Fächer auch die etwas größeren Addi-Swing Häkelnadeln passen. Ihr könnt Nadelspiele bis zu 20 cm dort unterbringen. Vorne ist ein großes Fach für alle Kleinigkeiten. Rundstricknadel, Nadellehre, Schere, Maschenmarkierer usw. Ab meinem nächsten Shop-Update werdet Ihr die Nadelmappen in meinem Shop bestellen können. Dieses Update wird noch diese Woche stattfinden. Ihr erfahrt hier, wann es genau stattfindet. Ich wünsche Euch noch eine schöne Woche und lasst Euch nicht zu sehr von der Hitze ärgern.

First in many ways

Latest FO. Fresh from the DPNs. A custom dyed Sockyarn for my Christmas Bags. This pair is a firsty in many ways. First indie dyed selfstriping Sockyarn. Thanks again Nicole for the awesome job! First Afterthought Heel which is not wonky and way too big. Still figuring out how many setting up rows for the instep and how many stitches to add to close the holes at the corners. But it is getting there. When I think of my very first "normal" Shortrow Heel. Uuuuh. This is way better. For shure! And first Sockpair knitted Magic Loop. I just used DPNs for the heel. It's quicker. Back for good :)

After some health difficulties I'm back for good. :-D Let's start thick and fast ... an FO. My first Afterthought Heel. It's a bit wonky but, I can imagine to knit some more in future socks. Aaand I mastered the kitchener.  What's next? Maybe Brain surgery... Cozy Memory Blanket

At the End of last year my 85 year old Mum asked me to knit her something, because she is freezing all the time. Well, normally I knit for no-one but me. Except I love that person dearly or the person is highly knitworthy and I never wanted to neiter knit nor own such a blanket. This is too colourful for me.

So yes, I Mommy will get her Blanket. I told her that it will take me at least this year to knit that. But she is totally cool with that. Way back when the teached me to knit and she knows that this is a lot of work.

So I teamed up at the beginning in 2017 with some other knitters around the globe. We cheer us up in knitting squares. And have a blast. We knit 5 blanket squares a week. No matter what. You can knit 5 squares in a day or every day one. Either way is good.

I use the pattern by Kemper Wray aka Junk Yarn Podcast called The Coziest Memory. This is a free pattern on Ravelry.

It has grown quite a bit. 2 Rows are complete. One Row has 15 squares. And I love it. I love to look at it.

Kunsthandwerkerinnen Markt 2016 in Niederzier (Neue Mitte)

Am ersten Samstag im September war es mal wieder so weit. Der Kunsthandwerkerinnen Markt in Niederzier findet statt.

Die Vorbereitungen

Um auf dem Markt auch genügend Ware anbieten zu können, muß genäht, genäht, genäht und genäht werden.

Der Tag vor dem Markt ist immer hektisch. Es muss noch sooo viel erledigt werden, aber es ist sooo wenig Zeit vorhanden. Labels entwerfen, drucken, Artikel auszeichen, Waren packen, Liste abarbeiten.

Gegen Abend konnte ich mein Auto abholen. Zum Glück hatte ich den Wagen schon anfang der Woche bestellt, so dass es (wie immer) keinerlei Probleme gab. Vielen Dank Cambio Carsharing!

Samstag, 03.09.2016 - Markttag

Der Tag beginnt früh. Aufstehen ist um 04:30 Uhr. Ich weiß, das ist eine unchristliche Zeit, aber der frühe Vogel fängt den Wurm. Später würde ich mit freien Straßen und Autobahnen belohnt werden. Also waschen, präsentabel machen, anziehen. Kurz eine Scheibe Brot im laufen essen und Auto packen.

Die “Reise” nach Niederzier war wie erwartet Stau- und Verkersfrei.

Nach gut einer halben Stunde waren wir in der neuen Mitte.

Dort waren die fleißigen Helferlein schon fest mit Aufbauarbeiten beschäftigt.

Ziemlich schnell konnten wir mit den Aufbauarbeiten loslegen.

....uuuuund fertig! So sah mein Stand aus (bevor der große Wind kam) :-D

Der Tag ging wie im Flug vorbei. Viele Kunden, nette Gespräche mit Groß und klein.
