And those jobs I created, created a larger economy for me and for our country, and from that economy, more jobs were created. And my company paid millions in taxes to our government and then one day, seven years after my company created so much positive economy, I had equity that was of value. In order for me to attain the “American dream” I sold some of my equity and made a return on my seven years of blood sweat and tears (literally). And how does America reward entrepreneurs like me for their contributions to our economy? No presidential awards, no special benefits, and no wall of fame…what do we get for all our risk and sacrifice? We get Capital Gains Tax treatment. And what do we do with those gains? We invest it back into our economy through the purchase of goods and services or financial assets and thus, start the process all over again. Small businesses and start-up entrepreneurs rarely make money. Often they receive no employment benefits, risk their reputations, and live in fear of survival on a daily basis, and yet they provide more value to the American economy than any single group, big corporations included. The real problem is that they don’t contribute to political campaigns, and aren’t a part of super PACs. If the Obama administration wants to create jobs then why do they want to take money away from the actual job creators in our society? Am I missing something? Or are they missing something? That being said, I do know some who benefit from the capital gains tax that shouldn’t. Like wealthy people who are 3rd plus-generation wealthy; someone in their distant past was an entrepreneur and made America a better place and left money to them. Some of these friends are working wealthy, and some just pretend to work. I have a problem, as a capitalist, and as an entrepreneur, with those who receive incentive not to work
