Homemade Fertilizer
Can’t afford to buy fertilizer or just want to make your own? Here is my magic plant juice recipe (proven to yield awesome results)! You will need: - A clean jar - Banana peels - Egg shells - Used coffee grounds OR tea bags - Coffee filter / paper towel (for straining)
1. Chop up banana peels. 2. Clean egg shells of any remaining yolk and/or film. 3. Collect used coffee grounds (or used tea bags, if you don’t drink coffee). 4. Place all of these in your CLEAN! jar. 5. Top with water. Close jar and shake it up nice and good. 6. Leave it alone in a cool, dark place for about a week. 7. Strain the solids. 8. Keep refrigerated. Or don’t. Personally I just leave it a cool, dark corner of my studio. Just make sure to keep it out of direct sunlight.
* Use fertilizer full-strength on plants that really need a boost. Otherwise, you can dilute it with water. * Banana peels are full of macronutrients like potassium and magnesium, eggshells add calcium, and coffee grounds add nitrogen.
Now go forth and get your plants drunk and happy!!!

DIY Natural Solid Perfume Recipe
Solid Perfumes are a great substitute for liquid bottled perfumes. With the natural ingredients used in this recipe, you will not have to worry about toxic fumes entering your body. This specific blend of oils create a relaxing and calming aroma that will assist in relieving stress and bringing love into your life.
Let’s get started!
Ingredients:
½ Almond Oil or any other carrier oil
½ Beeswax or Carnauba wax
Alkanet Root (optional)
Rose EO
Lavender EO
Jasmine EO
To make, place your choice of wax into a double boiler on high heat. After it melts, pour your carrier oil and stir until you get a smooth consistency. Lower heat so the carrier oil doesn’t start cooking! Alkanet Root is optional, but I recommend it is you want to give it a pretty pink/peachy color as shown in the photo. If you decide to use it, simply add the herbs and use a strainer to rid them before pouring into your container. You can now add your essential oils. If you are familiar with essential oils and know how to use them, then add as many drops as you feel are appropriate. If not, depending on the brand of essential oils you are using and the amount of wax & carrier oil you placed in your boiler, you will need to add around 20-30 drops of each essential oil. Stir, turn heat off, and pour into your container. I topped all of mine off with some dried flowers! If you decide to do this, be sure to add the flowers before the perfume dries.
I hope you all enjoy this recipe! Feel free to share your photos with me after you make them and contact me if you have any questions!

DIY Natural Lip Balm
Ingredients:
1 Tablespoon Beeswax or Candelilla Wax(Vegan Alternative)
1 Tablespoon Shea Butter
1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil
15-20 drops of Essential Oil
Materials:
Lip Balm Container
Tablespoon
Plastic Pipette
Double Boiler
__________________________________<\p>
If you have experience in making your own products, skip this section and get started on making your own lip balms! If not, keep reading for helpful information and tips!
Let’s get started!
First thing is first, have all ingredients out and ready for use! When working with wax and oils, the last thing you want is anything over-boiling or drying on you! For the Double boiler, you will need a saucepan & a small pot.
Begin by adding water to your saucepan, just enough to heat your small pot. Place small pot inside of saucepan. Turn heat on high temp. After pot is heating, add 1 tbsp. of Beeswax, Shea Butter, and Coconut Oil to your small pot, and stir well until ingredients melt.
Add 15-20 drops of your essential oil. I used a mixture of Tea Tree for healing, Lavender for soothing, and Rosemary & Jasmine for an additional lovely fragrance. Feel free to play around with your essential oils to create your own signature scent, but be sure to only add 15-20 drops total!
Here’s the fun part! Adding the ingredients to your tubes! This is where your plastic pipette comes in handy. When you are done filling your tubes, do not put the caps on until it is completely dry so it can dry faster! Congratulations! You’re all done! Enjoy your new homemade Lip Balm!
Please contact me if you have any questions!

Copaiba Essential Oil
What is a cannabinoid? Contrary to popular belief, a cannabinoid is not isolated to the cannabis plant. A cannabinoid is a chemical compound that affects either the CB1 or CB2 cannabinoid receptors that are naturally a part of the human body. There are many different types of cannabinoids that are not produced within the human body. Some of these are: CBD, THC, and BCP.
CBD, which is short for CannaBiDiol, naturally occurs in cannabis and hemp plants. CBD can relieve pain, reduce anxiety, help maintain cancer and tumors, treat seizures, and prevent diabetes. The best part of this cannabinoid is that you cannot get a high from it and you won’t fail a drug test.
THC, which is short for TetraHydroCannabinol, occurs naturally in the cannabis plant. This is the cannabinoid that will make you feel high and fail a drug test. THC resembles another cannabinoid called anandamide, which regulates mood, sleep, memory, and appetite.
BCP, which is short for Beta-CaryoPhyllene, is a cannabinoid found in many different things, such as Copaiba essential oil. When taken internally, BCP contains high levels of antioxidants. Additionally, BCP promotes healthy cellular function, can help support immune functions, and can help support the GI tract and colon. It is also an anti-inflammatory that can help with many ailments: inflammation and pain, such as with teething, arthritis, or menstrual cramps.
How to Use Copaiba Essential Oil
Copaiba essential oil is a versatile oil that can be used in many different ways. Here are a few of my favorite ways to use it:
Ø  Apply it neat (directly and undiluted) to my son’s gums for teething pain.
Ø  Add one or two drops to my juice to support my immune system and GI tract, or when I need some relief from menstrual cramps. A plus is I receive its antioxidant benefits as well.
~ Diffuse three to four drops in my diffuser to help reduce my anxiety.
~ I make my own pain relief cream to apply to my arthritis in my shoulder from an old injury. The ingredients include:
    ¼ cup coconut oil
8 drops Young Living Copaiba essential oil
8 drops Young Living Panaway essential oil
First, I whip the coconut oil until it is fluffy. Then I add in the essential oils.
Where does Copaiba Essential Oil come from[PJ1] ? Copaiba essential oil comes from the Copaiba tree, which grows in places such as the Amazon rain forest.

Cleaning with Essential Oils
It can be daunting to live a healthier lifestyle, and one of the last areas you may think to change is your cleaning products. Most modern cleaning products require certain chemicals and surfactants (or cleansing agents) to make them work, and you should know what they are and their potential effects. It’s also important to find ways to limit your exposure to these toxins, and learn about safe, effective alternatives.
Here’s a quick run-down of some common cleaning chemicals, along with some of the many places you may see them:
DEA (Diethanolamine)—Found in more than 600 home and personal care products, such as shampoos, conditioners, bubble baths, lotions, cosmetics, soaps, laundry and dishwashing detergents. Suspected of carcinogenic activity (causing or contributing to cancer) or of being potentially dangerous or hazardous to health.
Propylene Glycol—The main ingredient found in anti-freeze; also common in shampoos, deodourants, cosmetics, lotions, toothpastes, processed foods, baby wipes, and many more personal care items. Implicated in contact dermatitis, kidney damage, and liver abnormalities; can inhibit skin cell growth in human tests and can damage cell membranes causing rashes, dry skin, and surface damage.
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)—Industrial uses include concrete floor cleaners, engine degreasers, and car wash detergents. Also found in shampoos, liquid soaps, conditioners, cleansers, toothpaste, and children’s personal care products. SLS is found in nearly all toothpastes, and is absorbed through skin contact and retained for up to five days.
Talc—Chemically similar to asbestos, talc has been inked to ovarian cancer. It’s found in many body and baby powders, as well as many cosmetics.
Alcohol—Most mouthwash products have a higher alcohol content than most alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, etc). Mouthwash products with alcoholic content greater than 25 percent have been linked to cancers of the mouth, tongue, and throat. Alcohol acts as a solvent inside the mouth, making tissues more vulnerable to carcinogens.
Essential Oil Cleaning Solutions
It may not be possible or cost effective to avoid all of these chemicals in your cleaning and personal care products, but there are plenty of ways to reduce your family’s exposure to them. Using therapeutic-grade essential oils is a safe, effective alternative to many store-bought cleaning products. Some of the best essential oils for cleaning include cinnamon, clove, eucalyptus, thyme, spruce, lemon, lemon grass, and grapefruit. Try some of the following ideas for a powerful, natural clean:
Household cleaner:
Fill a spray bottle with water and a squirt of dishwashing soap.
Add 3–5 drops each of lavender, lemon, and pine essential oils.
Shake well.
Floor cleaner:
Add ¼ cup white vinegar to a bucket of water.
Add 5–10 drops lemon, pine, spruce, melaleuca, or Purification essential oil.
Fighting dust mites:
Recent research has shown that eucalyptus essential oil kills dust mites that live in bedding.
Add 25 drops of eucalyptus essential oil to each load of laundry for an effective dust mite deterrent.
Hot tubs and saunas:
Use 3 drops per person of lavender, cinnamon, clove, eucalyptus, thyme, lemon, or grapefruit to disinfect and freshen the water.
For saunas, add several drops rosemary, thyme, pine, or lavender to a spray bottle with water and spray surfaces. This water can also be used to splash onto hot sauna stones.
Kitchens and bathrooms:
Mix into 1 litre water: 2 drops rosemary, 4 drops lemon, 3 drops eucalyptus, and 4 drops lavender.
Shake well and put into a spray bottle. Shake again before using.
Window cleaner:
Mix in 1 litre spray bottle: 1 cup White Vinegar, 10–15 drops of Lemon Essential Oil, water.
Mix vinegar and water in spray bottle.
Add essential oil.
Shake and use.
Stain Removal:
Use a drop or two of lemon essential oil on stains.
Let stand and rub off with a clean cloth or throw into laundry cycle.
In the Dryer:
Instead of using toxic and irritating softening sheets in the dryer, toss in a dampened washcloth with 10 drops of lavender, lemon, melaleuca, bergamot, or other oils added.
While the oils will not reduce static cling, they will impart a lovely fragrance to the clothes.

“I usually put a drop of Purification® essential oil blend on a cotton square and place it at the bottom of each trash can in the house and at the bottom of my daughter’s diaper pail. It cuts back on odors and kills germs.”

Thieves essential oil blend would also be beneficial in this way!

What Are Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils?
Therapeutic essential oils are those that are the purest and most potent oils. They are:
·         100% pure essential oils
·         Grown chemically free and all organic
Essential oils that are therapeutic grade can be used both topically and orally, as compared to other grades of oils that can only be used in a diffuser. These oils can be used as stated above to cure various ailments: as allergies, warts, depression, etc.
Heed my warning, though. Absolutely make sure that any essential oil that you buy for medicinal purposed is therapeutic grade! When I was getting into the use of essential oils, my midwife told me a story of how this one woman got a burn on her arm. Well, she had bought lavender essential oil from a place like Walmart, that wasn’t a therapeutic grade. She put this oil on the burn and it made it far worse. This is because it wasn’t pure lavender essential oil; it had additives in it.
Young Living essential oils fit the criteria for therapeutic grade, meaning that they are one of the purest essential oils you can buy. There are other companies that make comparable therapeutic grade essential oils. However, I can only vouch for the efficacy of Young Living’s oils.
If you're interested in buying them, please visit the YL site and enter my member ID (13062672): https://www.youngliving.com/vo/#/signup/new-start
