I set up my alter with a pentacle, to represent each element.

On soul I have bones, on air feathers and insense, on fire a candle, on earth a crystal, and on water my rose of Jericho.

I also put a jar of money in the middle hope it will bring me luck with money.

I have a candle holder, and Kali, the goddess from the religion I was born in, that means the most to me.

I really enjoy this set up, it feels more alive, and very powerful. Even when not doing spells I still tend to it, I clean the rose of Jericho, I burn the candle and insence whilst meditating, I add money to the jar, etc...

It gives me a daily magickal outlet.

My new place had salt on the windowsill and under the door when I moved in....

Based loosely on conversations I’ve had with my roommate:

Me, reading the book of Solomon and mumbling the words under my breath.

My roommate: hey, dude...

Me: sorry, didn’t realized.

Roommate: what did you just do?

Me: I think I summoned something, sorry.

Roommate: you’re all good, I’m okay with demon summoning.

Me: yeah but I think it was an angel.

Roommate: god dammit.

Me: well I don’t think it worked, nothings happening.

Roommate: GOD DAMMIT!

My specialty is necromancy, but everyone thinks I’m a green witch cause they think I’ve managed to keep 43 house plants alive.

Like jokes on you, I don’t have any skill with plants I just keeps bringing them back from the dead. Also those aren’t to heal and cleanse my space, those are to detect spirts energies.

A break and I time of reflection:

After many of my spells began to back fire I began to feel a wave of negativity rise over me.

I took some time to learn, study, and connect with everything around me.

After some time I feel that the negativity has been withdrawn and when I did a reading asking about it it seems that I have been relieve of any duty I was given and given a new freedom.

I’m going to use this as a new start to my craft, this time I will take things slower, step by step.

Thus far the readings have been 50/50 sometimes super on point, other times very off.

Also one of the cards looks like someone I know, which is strange because I did a problem solution pull, and got problem: the lover, solution: that card...

Right place, right time, a new better trajectory for my life.

I was going out to get a tattoo, but the place I wanted was closed for a bit.

I decided to grab tea at a small tea shop nearby.

Inside they had tarot cards, I did some readings and they were all coming out a lot happier than what I’m use to.

I felt a connection to this place and decide to ask the cards about me working here. They told me that this would bring me stability, happiness, new beginning, and something new.

I think this might be the place for me.

Right place? Right time?

Another little alter clean up.

I was tuning out of space to store things in my alter box, so I made a new one.

It’s nothing specail, just some quotes from the rede.

Allowing my patron to create my spell.

I haven’t been working much with Hekate recently and I felt bad, I felt as if I were not practicing according to the ways she needed me to. To resolve this I decide to try and ask her to create a potion for me.

I picked a deck of cards where each card was numbered and assigned the cards to my herbs.

Then I pulled 3 cards, 3 because of the rule of three and because it is a number significant to Hekate.

After pulling my 3 herds I poured in some olive oil.

And now am leaving that on my alter for 3 days and 3 nights.

For more specifics on the steps I took you can (try to) read the notes I took, but every patron/witch relationship is specail, so I would suggest trying out your own method.

The times, they have been a changin’

Things haven’t been going well lately, recently I’ve fallen on hard times and to make it worse my spells seem to keep back firing.

I’ve decided it’s time for a change, and givin that it’s fall and we have the eastern winds I felt that this was the perfect time to try to achieve that change.

I decided to wrap my alter in snake skin, for two reasons.

1) snake skin is a symbol of change and letting things go.

2) In the Lesser Key of Solomon the image of a circling snake is suppose to bring protection form evil sports.
