Continuation of my previous four videos of Star Trek: The Next Generation clips. Had a bit of IRL stuff going on, but it's great to be back making these again!

Youtube actually went pretty easy on me this time. Only one re-edit and two scenes that were flagged: the milkshake scene in Hero Worship and the elevator scene with Troi and Riker in Times Arrow. If it's been a while since you've seen them, I'd give 'em a watch to view the scenes in full!

I'm including a couple of scenes from Conundrum despite the memory loss effect going on. Even without their memories the crew still seems to be themselves. And I think Data's speculation about his origins was worth including in this video.

Roceit- Why aren’t you in a blanket burrito? It’s cold outside

‘Why aren’t you in a blanket burrito? It’s cold outside.’ Janus asks Roman as he rubs at his eye, yawning tiredly. Due to the winter cold outside, the bitter freeze air affected him the most. What with being cold blooded due to his snake like anatomy.

‘The cold doesn’t bother me much right now.’ Roman replies, pausing to look at Janus’ eyes which had suddenly gone wide. In a blur Janus had attached himself to Roman’s side.

'Janus! Get off me!’ Roman yelps as he is tackled, falling backwards onto the couch.

'I can’t help it. You’re just really warm. Like a giant heater.’ Jansu mumbles as he nuzzles into Roman, leeching off his warmth.

‘You’re ssso warm.’ Janus purred out as he snuggled up closer to Roman. Roman lets out a gasp of surprise when his hand brushed against Janus’ arm.

‘Dear mother Mary! You’re an icicle.’ Roman tried to get up so he could get a blanket and make a hot chocolate for Janus but found he was unable to move.

‘You just feel really good. Ssssoft and warm..’ Janus spoke, as if getting drunk off the warmth. He now held tightly onto Roman’s shirt, not planning on moving anywhere anytime soon. Roman sighs as he carefully winds his arms around Janus and tries to settle himself.

A New Year of Lying to Myself... In Song!!: Angst incoming

There’s only one thing to say about this episode:

Okay, okay, jokes aside, there is something else to say about this episode.

First of all, the main topic. A new year is starting and, just like everyone else, Thomas draws his conclusions on the past year and ponders about what will come in the next one.

This kind of reasoning always brings topics like future, growing up and changes - all themes that already appeared in the first episodes and will keep appearing throughout the series. I don’t want to spoil anything, but let’s just say we will see them a whole lot of times.

For now, let’s start with this episode.

Janussss is the keyboard player for the Smiletime Sanders’ Pizzaria Franchise’s new Smiletime Pizzaplex! Designed with a hyperflexible lower half to sway with the music and upgraded with the latest multi-arm technology to make him hit all the notes, his speed with the keyboard would impress the kids! Or… well he USED to impress them… until the stage caught fire and the heat melted half his plastic casing. Stuck in the back rooms to lurk, he’s pretty bitter about having only half his snakey face…..

Patton sees all the sides as kiddos—except for Janus.

Think about it. Even when he's being cute and goofy he uses a fatherly tone. His praise, his sympathy, his reprimands, and his jokes all tend to come off as coming from someone in a place of authority looking to be a guide and support.

He absolutely babies Virgil. He's happy to praise his little Princey and give him emotional and moral support. He purposefully dumbs himself down so Logan can be the smart one™ and praises him so he knows he's loved and appreciated. He also irks them all with dad jokes and puns.

Remus is like that one neighbor kid looking for trouble and no matter what he tries, Patton cannot father his way through this one.

There is only one moment in the series so far that shows Patton's mask dropping in front of his kiddos. Moving On. He doesn't completely drop the dad persona, but his tone slips and he admits he feels bad.

And then there's PoF. He is a broken frog man. He asks Janus if he's redeemable. He doesn't speak with any hint of authority or false cheer. He's vulnerable.

And then there's the very end where the two of them are watching Thomas and his friends. Janus bitterly and sarcastically says he was wrong about everything. Patton says "You know that's not true" in response. He is gentle and soft, but he isn't putting any authority behind it, no dad persona, just Patton being honest.

Tl;dr: Patton doesn't talk to Janus in a fatherly manner, unlike the others and Thomas.
