Able-bodied people remember the existence of words such as debilitating, incapacitating, draining, all-consuming, overwhelming, destructive, drastic, limiting, disruptive, excruciating, etc. instead of using a fucking slur challenge: difficulty level impossible

A list of rules when interacting with an aroace person, by an aroace person:
- Do not romantic our platonic. We will not hesitate to smash a rock into your skull.
- Do not piss us off. We're all attached by invisible walkie-talkies. It's like roaches--if there's one, there's definitely another one nearby.
- Do not say things like 'when you're married' or 'when you meet that special person'. Trust me, coming to terms with an aroace identity in a romance-centered world is not a fun, quirky choice.
- Do not assume that we don't like seeing romance/sex in the media. I'm aroace and one of my favourite genres is romance.
- WE ARE LGBTQIA+. Doesn't matter if we're cis, heterosexual but aromantic or heteroromantic but asexual or any other combination of all the various shades of aspec, WE COUNT AS QUEER PEOPLE.
- Do not equate being aroace or on the aspectrum to being celibate. It's not the same thing. Being aroace is not a choice.
- Being aroace does not mean we're all lonely or sad. Eating garlic bread is scientifically shown to boost your serotonin levels (don't fact check me on this)
- Living with someone or wanting to live with someone doesn't mean we want them romantically! If you have the option to establish a hideout for you and all your buddies, why wouldn't you?
This was, again, a list of rules when interacting with an aroace person, shown to reduce chances of dying by burnt breadsticks and pasta by 100%!

i was too scared to say this on twitter (lol) so i鈥檇 thought i鈥檇 come say it here .
but disabled people can tell when your support for them is conditional btw. abled bodied people have huge double standards when it comes to disabled people they want to support and who they want to make fun of and laugh at - and we realise when you get annoyed when our struggles won鈥檛 go away because YOU find it inconvenient.
your support for disabled people shouldn鈥檛 be conditional. and it feels stupid to say this but i see it on twitter a lot.

sometimes i wonder if i will get bored of grammar when learning a language but then i go and do an exercise with a transcript and some of these stories are wild. i just sat down to do some preposition practise in German and suddenly i鈥檓 reading about a guy taking advantage of stranger鈥檚 pity for his disabled parents so that he can eat out regularly without paying.

i never thought that i would find any positive to the shitshow that is language lessons in english schools yet here i am, thanking school for teaching me a basis of german before i started teaching myself german because i have just started learning welsh with no prior knowledge of the language and it is ridiculously difficult. i started with no prior vocabulary, no idea of how similar the grammar is to english, barely ever heard it being spoken before and practically no knowledge of its phonetics. this is probably the hardest thing i鈥檝e ever learnt and i can barely introduce myself.

I haven鈥榯 seen anybody else mention this yet but auto-generated subtitles on other social media (namely tiktok) are being censored or aren鈥檛 working when the creator is talking (not in English) about Palestine or other conflicts. I have my subtitles set to German since I鈥榤 currently learning it and tiktok鈥榮 subtitles are translating fine when the creator is talking in English, French, etc. But when I was watching Bisan鈥榮 videos earlier the subtitles stopped when she started talking in Arabic. I know that the subtitles can translate since they used but there definitely has been an increase in them not translating for me and I wouldn鈥檛 be surprised if this was happening for others.
Also, a majority of videos where there are intentional captions in English that talk about Palestine and include a flag in the text tend to have the Israel flag placed over the text instead of a German translation, making it difficult to read the text underneath.
While auto-generated subtitles and translations aren鈥檛 the best and are difficult to add to video apps, the subtitles for all other languages are fine and this has probably just been targeted at content about Palestine.
I don鈥檛 spend loads of time on tiktok so hopefully someone who does or is more familiar with this form of censorship and translation can expand on this.

don鈥檛 you just love when your gp surgery (that is only open 9-4 on weekdays) only allows you to book appointments in person but doesn鈥檛 make this clear on their website?
and then people ask why you aren鈥檛 getting help.

like not just random strangers or people your age but also the number of teachers who told me this when i had to explain my symptoms and accomadations to them
the fact that it's so normal for disabled people to be told that abled people would kill themselves if they were disabled is so fucking disgusting
