I’ve been dreaming of coming here since I was a kid. I was probably around 7-8 years old, living in Lima, I’ve met a man from Spain who was riding his bicycle from Patagonia to Alaska. Before him, I have never heard of those places. They sounded magical, like a Disney movie. Those names got stock in the back of my mind. Don’t recall much of him, but I do remember his bicycle. It was like nothing I’ve ever seen before. I already had the passion for two wheels, but what he was doing was new to me. He was riding north heading in one direction, to not come back. That was mind blowing. Every time I would go out for a ride on my bicycle or motorcycle I would always come back home. I didn’t even occur to me that you can head in one direction. That got stuck in me. The plan of riding to Alaska originated from that concept. Driving north as far as I can. Another end of the world destination Finally arriving to Alaska, I felt incredibly happy. I felt accomplished, proud and humble. It also made me feel wanting more.
