Abigail isn't Smythe's name, but the name given to the Wayfarer by the Vagabonds when she first joined them. She had no name or sense of self when she first woke up in the vat and escaped the lab, so they all bounced some names off of her before someone suggested Abigail, which she liked, and that was that.

There was definitely some speculation about what her whole deal is and where she came from; she has Smythe's accent in the beginning, and that combined with her appearance (healthy hair, lack of scarring and weathering) led some to believe she might have been Gentry prior to her amnesia. Maybe she was a dissident who was sent to that lab for punishment, or maybe she just got unlucky and was in the wrong place at the wrong time. The first theory gains traction when her personality starts to develop and she begins butting heads with Gaunt and generally ends up in shouting matches with him.

(Then it turns out they're not right but they're wrong either because it turns out that there's dozens of these women with their friend's face and DNA and all of them are a threat to be dealt with, but no one really knows how tf to deal with the ethical implications of that.)

I think one thing I'd change about FOLON's endgame is that in the seven day wait before the final battle, you'd get the chance to recruit the factions you can join prior to the late game. If you've completed their questlines entirely, it'd be an instant 'fuck yeah we'll be there' and key faction members make an appearance in the battle. If you're only part way through the questlines or you've made certain decisions (such as killing Prince Davies) then you might have to pass certain checks to convince them, or they'll just flay out refuse.

So my standing theory is that the Wayfarer is a clone of Smythe, as they change gender depending on the player 🤔

I can safely say I called it on day one of Fallout London's release, even if it did take me a year or so to actually finish the game lmao. I also didn't expect to walk into the House of Commons and find it filled with Smythes, that was definitely a mind-fuck moment for me and Abi who anticipated the clone plot twist but not the full extent of it o_o I knew there was more than one based on the interactions in the Shard but the House of Commons was excessive.

also I spent like an hour messing with saves to make sure Abigail's appearance was distinct from the rest of the Smythes to mark her as the odd one out among them. It was so worth it.

Anyways Abigail has officially completed Fallout London, having sided with Camelot. The endgame was pretty exciting, I very much enjoyed getting to shoot up Westminster, though I don't envy Abi for having to deal with all those extra Smythes in Parliament. Letting one Smythe fall to her death is all well and good when she's made it her business to try and kill you, but killing dozens of them is an ethical concern.

While the performance issues were a real pain in the arse, I can't be sure if that's an issue with my old ass computer or the mod itself. I still had a great time with exploring London with Archie and chasing down the truth, and getting sidetracked here and there (T.E.R.R.Y my beloved, I had so much fun in your murder maze take on the British Museum, which was so much more fun than the Gardener's Crystal Palace Maze which had amazing ambiance but was a fucking nightmare to navigate). This was just a genuinely fun Fallout experience, which felt familiar but distinct with its setting - I loved the tickets as currency, the Thamesfolk and Thameshounds, and having hooligans instead of raiders because even in the apocalypse, we can never escape football hooligans. It had the wackiness, the shenanigans, and all the gorey horribleness you'd expect of a Fallout title and I'm definitely going to jump back into a pre-post game save (because you can't play post game rip).
