the reason alcohol is separated from other drugs, at least in europe, is because for a long time, beer was safer to drink than water.
yeah people like getting fucked up but i feel like thats an important detail too.
People did drink water in medieval times you know. Regularly. Beer wasn’t the only thing they drank. Some people preferred to drink water, even. They even put stuff in their water, like honey. Or they drank broth. Beer was dense in calories and made you feel weird. That’s why people drank it. And a lot of people probably couldn’t afford to drink only beer. You know. Because it’s a good that not everyone knows how to make.
Water, on the other hand, is free. Just right there. In the river. Most people lived near rivers or lakes for a reason. They were drinking water. Actual water. The idea that everyone only drank beer is a total myth.
They drank a lot of beer because they were hungry and wanted to feel weird and liked the way that it tasted and beer satisfied all of those needs.

Honk Honk!
I have returned from the depths of 2020, into 2021 born anew! (I forgot I had a tumblr for a while but I’ve started thinking abt Sander Sides again bc of some Wonderous fanfics I’ve read) Onto this short ramble of a theory:
Roman is often characterized to be kind of a Himbo. Which makes sense given that he’s the creative side. It’s obviously not his job to be the brightest crayon in the shed. He follows C!Thomas’s dreams and because of this is often impulsive. He what’s what would be best for Thomas, but specifically from the “Following dreams angle”.
Now, we know all that but consider this: Roman also tends to be the most romantic of the group. And, romance tends to be difficult to figure out at the best of times and practically hair-tearing-ly impossible at the worst.
With this there are two ideas in my mind: Roman messing up more and more things to do with Nico leading to even further conflict and angst than normal OR the sides realize that Roman is really helpful in that aspect.
I could go on and on about how it could go, but I don’t want to go too in-depth in case I’m horribly off target.
Until next,
Honk Honk

That's so interesting! Virgil also being anger would make so much sense given his behavior. And Janus still being a bad guy just... Let's him keep his super cool characterization and I'm Down to Clown with that idea!
I got into Sanders Sides and now that I’ve watched every episode I have an idea about what the Dark Sides want. What if their plan is to recorupt Virgil and break Roman? And yes I still consider Janus a dark side.
I say this because the dark sides seem to go out of their way to antagonize Roman. Remus literally bops him over the head and Janus drove him to extreme emotions in the most recent episode. Granted Remus threw a shuriken at Logan and pulled out his teeth, but that usually seems to be a way to make Logan admit there is no place for logic or just mess with him for laughs. However with Roman they either want him out of the picture or on their side. Probably because Roman encompasses Thomas’s bravery. We know a side can encompass something other than their placement like how Virgil could be more than anxiety and is shown to possibly be anger given how quick he is to lash out when stressed. Roman could be a part of Thomas’s bravery, because he’s shown to be the one who wants Thomas to take risks and jump to new things without fear. That and he’s the figure of a prince a character attached with bravery, honor, and heroism.
Also it makes more sense they can corrupt those two because they’re younger than Patton and Logan. Patton and Logan have most likely been around since Thomas was younger than 3 but I’d place Roman and Virgil appearing when he was around 8 or 9, at least old enough to understand good and bad. I also say recorupt because we know Virgil was trying to protect Thomas, so considering Janus is a liar he could always have told Virgil how to help Thomas when he was still somewhat impressionable. So, while Logan and Patton are clearly adults to Thomas, Virgil and Roman can be considered teenagers or at oldest, college student age. That and Virgil still feels he’s like the dark sides in a way while Roman has been shown to agree with them and still has impulsive and childish natures. Like narcissism and the want to get things. In a way if they corrupt Roman and Virgil they’ll allow Thomas to succumb to fear, the source of their powers, as it’s been stated Remus has power when Thomas is afraid and Janus gets power when Thomas is in fear
Granted this is a small theory as we still don’t know who dark side number 3 is, as they’ve alluded to them several times. Alll I know is that there seems to be a lot of evidence that the Dark Sides don’t need to convince just Thomas they need to either balance the side count or overturn it as it seems to be 4-3.

Honk, Honk.
It's 2am again
Here's an idea:
Because of their roles as the "Scary" ones the "Dark Sides" are more chaotic due to not being understood very well by Thomas.
Like, if you have a painting in your house that you avoid looking at you probably think that painting is worse than it really is.
Also it would explain the weird animal theme. Like. Remus has tentacles. Janus is a Sassy SNAKE man™. Virgil is... A raccoon.
Either way it's some food for thought
Note: thoughts don't actually need to be fed

My favorite thing about being a mostly theory blog is that at random times at night I get notes on my posts like?? You know what happened there. Go to bed you heathens. Or don't. Either way I'm still gonna be up at 3am.

Honk Honk, new theory but now it's not 3am.
Ok so what if Virgil is just. Still stuck on the whole being the bad guy thing? Like he dead ass can't stop being the antagonist?
In a similar fashion to our Sassy Snake Boy™ who can't stop lying and has to correct himself often. Janus himself said it was a self control thing.
So, since Virgil was basically designed to be the antagonist what he just. Has as much of a hard time Not Being a Dick as Remus has not Talking about Dick.
I'm not saying that Virgil should immediately be forgiven for all of the rude things he's ever said but I am saying that it would explain it better.
But say Remus was the first "Dark Side" we saw. Would he get redeemed and still chat shit (literally)? Or Janus who Still Lies.
Yeah so. That could just be a "Dark Side" feature. Or Virgil's just an asshole. Whatever way you want to see it as long as you don't attack others for having differing opinions.
Note: I legit don't have any opinions on the sides other than thinking Logan and Janus are defo the strongest and that Patton probably gives good hugs.

Remus and Roman sharing a bunk bed and arguing over who gets top bunk.
Listen up people it’s sander sides theory time
(Honestly idk if this even counts as an eligible theory, but this was one of those things my brain thought of at 3 am and I wanted to get it out of my head so here we go)
My theory is this: Roman doesn’t have a room
lemme explain

Honk, Honk. Trying this again because Tumblrino decided that deleting my entire theory would be A Grand Slam of a cool idea.
So basically, there's a theory that Virgy Wirgy lied about his namey wamey. I think it's an interesting concept but with no true motive. And in a mis-quote of Miles Edgeworth himself "you need a motive, right?"
Motive 1: Not wanting the other sides to know that he's a Dark Side
-This makes sense any way you slice it, generally speaking
-was he too anxious, trying to double cross them, or just not the biggest fan of the darky warky-ies (I'll stop now)
-the problem here is that the light sides seem to have an idea that Virgil was a dark side (see: Roman commenting that Virgil wasn't as bad as The Others)
Motive 2: Virgil just didn't feel like his original name fit him anymore
-to be fair he did get redemptioned
-plus even without that he could have just. Stopped liking whatever it was previously.
Motive 3: There is no motive
-the sides get to choose their names and Virgil doesn't Do the fitting in thing
Note: I was going to add a read more thing but instead I'm making people scroll all the way past this post bc Tumble is r00d.

Honk honk, back at it again with a new Sander Sides theory at 2-damn-early-in-the-morning.
So, like, Logan. We all know him. We all (hopefully) think he's a joy to have around.
He was almost definitely the first side, right? Like, sure, we become fearful pretty damn quick. We gain other emotions outside of fear, we try to keep ourselves safe, and we have dreams based on what we know.
What if at first all of the sides were a part of Logic? But then Feelings happened and so our boy Logan had too many jobs and made another side. This side being Feelings.
Feelings would be a mix of both Virge and Patton.
Then, Thomathy starts creating. And suddenly that becomes too much work for Feelings and Logic to deal with at once so we get Creativity 1.0
Eventually, Self-preservation becomes so much of a job that Feelings splits too. This would be Patton and self preservation.
Eventually, the twins split too. That's basically their whole shtick.
Then Self-preservation is having a hard time figuring out fight or flight. So they spilt again. Virgil (mostly flight tbh) and Janus (have you Seen him?).
Of course, over time after splitting the jobs of each side end up changing and instead of being "twins" all of those previous splits are their own sides.
This could mean that Remus and Roman split the most recently. This also gives a good bit of angst to Logan (who in this case would be the original side) since he's being treated so poorly. But it would also mean that Logan might have legit not cared about his name being shared bc he thought Thomas already knew.
Anyway, this was Very Long so thanks for sticking with me. Tune in next time to see if Name will stop trying to poke at the idea that all the sides are neutral and that the idea of a dark or light came from One thing that Roman said One Time. Honk, Honk.

Can you do something for me, please?
I want you to reblog this if you believe that two people can be very close and physically affectionate with one another, but still have a completely nonsexual, non-romantic relationship.
Even if the two people in question are capable of being sexually or romantically attracted to one another.
Because the friendship I share with someone I consider family in a way that transcends blood has been typecast as a romantic relationship ENTIRELY too many times, and I’m beginning to get sick of it.
