I’m going to scream into the void about sander sides, feel free to join.

I think my favorite side is Roman character wise but I love vigils design and outfits. Janus is a close second for both.

(Sorry if I worded things confusing) Roman imo has a pretty big burden placed on him, which is creativity and Thomas’s passion. His job quite literally keeps Thomas employed, he’s one of the main driving forces in Thomas’s life. Wether that be creating videos, starring in plays, being confidence, etc. He has to keep creating because if he can’t then Thomas wouldn’t (maybe even couldn’t) find value in his life. If Roman could hypothetically disappear, there wouldn’t be Thomas anymore, even more so than the other sides since he (imo) MAKES Thomas Thomas. And I don’t think Roman is appreciated enough for all the stuff he does.

Sander Sides s2 Finale Theories

Hi,

A few days ago, I suddenly remembered Sander Sides exists and that I like it. I've been AWOL for a year or two, drifting in and out of the fandom BUT now, I have come back in full force. I am present, once again.

So, obviously, I have been wanting to see what other fans think of the series. Specifically, I want to find anyone theorizing on what will happen during the season 2 finale. Because, listen, I've been theorizing on what will happen since "Why Do We Get Out of Bed in the Morning," and that was when I was in middle school. So, obviously, my own theories have changed drastically and I want to know how others have as well.

So, please, if you have a theory, tell me all about it on this post (or any other way if you want)! I am eager to hear ANYTHING. I don't care if you do or don't have evidence, I want to know what you think will happen. You can even tell me what you think will occur to one specific character (I do/did it all the time to Roman, so I understand).

WHAT IFFF LOGAN IS THE ORANGE SIDE??

Like like what if he's not being possessed by Orange what if he IS him. This goes with another theory I saw on here that Logan might be former dark side {If ur reading this credit urself pls} so like what if all along {at least when Thomas started thinking about there even being a dark side} orange was Logan's true color, but because he adapted a different role, or maybe just tamed out as a light side he wanted a different color to separate himself from that aspect of himself. But with how often he's been being pushed it's getting harder and harder to do his job smoothly as a light side

ok so i think that the orange side is or has something to do with irrational thinking. Irrationality is the textbook definition of the opposite of logical.

it literally means “not logical or responsible”

that burst of rage and anger logan had was him acting irrational and his outburst toward remus was a clear display of illogical and unclear thinking it just happened. he was even shocked by it because he rarely displays such outbursts because he is put together, he is literally thomas’ logic.

i’m thinking that the more logan gets ignored the more the orange side will show up because what happens when you ignore all logic? you start to think irrational.

a part of me is also hoping that it’s a sort of Jekyll and Hyde type thing just cause it would be cool to see rather than splitting into an entire new side (plus it’s kinda fitting vibe wise, and i just really like logan and think he should have a little angry arc)

GUYS i just thought of something really really angsty.

so we know that roman’s the ego and hence he’s affected heavily by feedback from the other sides and esp thomas. BUT what if as the ego, his own perception of himself influences how thomas sees himself and hence how the other sides treat roman.

like what if roman having self esteem issues ends up making the other sides grow meaner and colder to roman which then just feeds into itself. and roman knows what’s going on but thinks he deserves it.

ok, so the orange side...

so, I've been seeing quite a bit of discussion on the topic of what the orange side could represent/what their name will be. so I thought I'd share my thoughts. personally, I feel as if the orange side would represent anger. or, more specifically rage. most of the encounters we've ever had with the side have been related to some standard or linked back to the thought of anger. Some examples of this would be, obviously when logan lost his cool while trying to explain to Remus why he felt as if his actions were unfair and then shouted. then later on when Logan became frustrated and Remus tried to push saying 'It kinda makes you wanna scream, huh.' I have also seen quite a few theories saying that this new side could represent repressed thoughts, while this is a good theory, I don't think so. if it was, then they would have appeared in the episodes with Patton talking about his repressed thoughts and also in dealing with intrusive thoughts when they got onto the topic of repression. now onto the name. as we can see, there are a lot of patterns with the names given to the sides. one of the first being the fact that all of the names have only two syllables. the second being that, both Janus and Remus' names are of Greek origins Janus' meaning two faces or doorways and Remus' literally means twin. and the last pattern with the names of the characters is the endings, (log-an, rom-an, patt-on. and rem-us and jan-us) Virgil being the outlier of this because as Thomas had depicted before he's like a grey side, sitting in the middle of the black and the white me and my friend actually discussed this a while ago, trying to keep all of these patterns in mind, two of the most likely ones that we found were either Marius/Marcus or Sirius. Marius as a name means dedicated to Mars, the Roman god of war, while it's not a Greek name, the definition goes along with the idea that the orange side is supposed to depict rage. Also, to be shortened down could go to Marcus, which means the same thing only with two syllables going along with the first pattern. and obviously, Marius ends with the same syllables as Remus and Janus. The second name, Sirius is another good option in my opinion. the definition of Sirius as a name is burning/glowing which also contributes to the idea of anger or rage. 'burning rage' etc. the origins of the name Sirius are also Greek, meaning that it would go along with the other dark sides along with eh fact it ends with '-us'. (also doesn't support anything at all I just think it would be cool cause Sirius is actually a star and it would be funny that he'd be related to Logan a lot.) the only thing wrong with this name is that it has three syllables instead of 2.

Suddenly just got the idea that Logan is actually the Orange side, but uses dark blue as his accent color because he believes it makes him more respectable. Maybe that’s why Logan’s eyes turned orange that one time lol

posting my orange side theories, i think that orange is of a similar vein as Virgil. We've been given various hints that the sides functions can adapt and change as the characters grow and that, when Virgil was a dark side, he may have been referred to as 'Paranoia.'''

i used to think that orange being a separate character would be interesting, but all mentions of orange have related to Logan, as if only he could reach him. Which makes me think Logan is the orange side under layers of repression. Remus does highlight that during his introduction and while, he's obviously alluding to Virgil and Patton in relation to the night of intrusive thoughts, maybe...

i just think it'd be so fascinating for Logan to have hid himself away like that, maybe to be taken more seriously. Him and Patton are the only sides to share a color, and his old character (while based on the vine teacher) was far more passionate when discussing with Thomas and the other sides. Maybe it's a corruption thing. Maybe it could have something to do with Pattons' influence overarching and overriding the other sides because of how highly regarded morality and emotion are to Thomas. Maybe the switch from orange to blue occured to please Patton when the mindscape split.

Idk. Idk if his function would change, or even, what it was before. I was thinking passion or obsession, but I really don't know. I love the idea, though, and I'm so attached to it that I think if orange is a separate character, I'll generally be upset. But if we were working up to a new side, wouldn't there be a higher focus on his function rather than the color. No other side introduction has gotten this kind of treatment before, or at least, this level of hype for their introduction.

maybe he'll finally show his 'true colors.'

these are just my thoughts, though. I really don't know what will happen.

Sometimes I think about how each of the sides name reveals are like coming out.

Logan was outed, it wasn't a choice but it was ok in the end, he was also really chill about it.

Roman clarified to make things easier and more comfortable. He just said it and moved on like it was no big deal, just a conversation.

Patton was also really chill about, he joked about it. Like it was obvious and nothing crazy.

Virgil had to build a lot of trust before he could vulnerable like that. He was scared of being made fun of so he just blurted it out

Remus was proud of it, he had nothing to hide and if you don't like it boo hoo. But he also uses it as a tool.

Janus was bullied. It took a lot of trust for him to say it, he wanted to bridge the gap between himself and the others by revealing this part of himself. Unfortunately he was immediately made fun of for it.

Now most of the sides names reveals can be seen as pretty positive coming outs. In the end they have been (no long viciously outcasted but) accepted. A lot of them were calm about the whole situuation and for some it's not a huge deal, but for others it is. It marks the trust they have for the others and Thomas.

Whether you get outed and made fun of or you come out on your own terms and keep it light, stay safe out there. It's not a race and there is certainly no finish line so take your time. Happy pride!

Do you guys think the orange side is going to be in the same body as Logan, like a Hyde and Jekyll situation?

I mean it would make sense, Janus and Patton are kinda opposites, Remus and Roman are brothers, so it could be cool for Logan and Orange to be the same person thematically. It also would fit in with how rage works for most people. (if the orange side is indeed rage) Logic almost leaves the picture when your angry so Orange completely taking over Logan’s body would be cool.

Of course Orange will probably be a separate entity but I think it’s cool to think about :)

Soo... Has anyone talked about the fact that Logan is basically left brain, and thats why he claims to feel no emotion but when he DOES feel emotion its often negative emotions like paranoia, frustration, anger, ect and its because the left brain is the side of your brain that doesn't understand emotions, and looks for the little details in everything, and when things aren't working out the left brain feels those negative emotions, and that often gets worse when the left brain is left alone to figure things out, and not only is this why Virgil and Logan are on the same side of the room while Patton and Roman are on the other side of the room, but also this is why the color orange represents anger, its one of the few emotions the left brain actually can feel, and therefore orange isn't actually a side but something all of the sides experience without knowing, either that or it IS a side, but more of an unconscious force that all the other sides experience, and eventually things are going to get so bad that the internal termoil boils over and also i think maybe Roman is gonna be the next one to experience anger to such a degree he has that orange moment too and when he has the moment it'll be at the boiling point and its actually going to scare everyone else, and that episode will end on a cliffhanger and the next episode will start with Thomas dealing with the unbridled anger he's feeling alone and turns out Roman's outburst will actually be foreshadowing for Thomas's own angry outbust that he deeply regrets almost immediately (extra points if the outburst is at someone Thomas deeply cares about, extra extra points if its a friend who is now reconsidering their friendship due to the outburst) and we actually see some dark story line start to happen and-

I mentioned this in the tags of a post but I want to make it its own post now

Because, theoretically, Virgil is See No Evil (can make the whole room pitch black/control shadows), Janus is Speak No Evil (covers the sides' mouthes and mimics their voices) and Remus is Hear No Evil (can block other sounds out so you can only hear him), then the Orange side might be the less commonly seen fourth monkey, Do No Evil

If this is the case, then perhaps his dark side power will be like him paralysing the other sides or stopping them from sinking in and out

The other sides would still able to see, hear and speak but they're completely unable to move, get away or rise up

So, uh... a neat little detail about Janus' makeup.

The side of his face that's normally scaled is the happy one, and the human side of his face is displeased.

Going by the assumption that the scales represent his deceitful nature and that Roman picked out the characters/costumes for all of the sides, is it fair to believe that this shows us how Roman thinks of Janus? That anything happy/nice about him is only a lie?
