“Trust me, I’m more than okay with that.” She said, with a wink. “I’m mostly an open book, there’s only a few restricted chapters.” Noa took a sip of her drink and straightened up in her seat. “If you could pick three historical figures from any point in time, who would they be,”

“I could be wrong but you seem far too kind to be a pain in anyone’s ass.” She said, with a smile to the boy behind the counter. “But for all I know you could also be a serial killer like H. H. Holmes. A cute little bakery as a coverup instead of a hotel of horrors.”

Noa didn’t have any other plans, except watching Netflix with her cat, and she was hungry. “Okay, you’ve convinced me.” She said, grinning at the woman. “Any place in mind? Oh, and I’m Noa by the way.” She wondered if she should shake her hand, it felt awkward though because they hadn’t started with introductions. “Now we’re not complete strangers, going to have dinner.”

When she walked into the restaurant, she spotted her friend and beelined towards the table. “Hey babe,” she smiled at Raelyn as she sat down. “How are you doing?” She asked, already reaching for the chips on the able.

Noa laughed, “I need some of you energy then. The only thing I am besides tired is hungry right now. She hadn’t counted all of her money out yet but she was pretty sure she had at least three hundred in her bra. Enough to buy more weed from Scotty and the rest to put toward debt she owed. “I did alright, you?” After double checking she had everything in her bag she looked over at Stella. “Want to grab something to eat?”

Noa opened her makeup bag and pulled out her makeup remover and cotton balls then began cleaning off her makeup. ”Long night for you?” She asked, mostly because she felt weird sitting on silence. A mess of cotton balls later, and a baby wipe for good measure, her face was clean. ”I know I'm fucking tired.” She pulled on a pair of seear pants and a t shirt over her skimpy lingerie.

She broke off a piece of cookie and popped into her mouth, her eyes lit up as she chewed. ”These are really good, like really really good.” Noa smiled at him brightly, “Your boyfriend is lucky to have you, especially if you bake him treats often.”
noaxg:
”I bet these are delicious! I can’t wait to try them.” Noa thought it was nice to see someone who genuinely loved their job. She knew it wasn’t always possible to do what you loved. ”Is this your bakery then?”
“I hope you think so, I enjoy making them and it makes me happy when people like them.” Seeing other people happy in general made Matt happy, he was very easy to please in that sense. “Yes, it is. I open it right after college and try to spend as many days running it as I can. My…my boyfriend is very supportive and I am thankful.” Matt was still trying to be comfortable with being publically out and unashamed, and it didn’t always work. Some days he was more confident than others.

Noa paid him and tucked her change in the tip jar. She stuck her face inside the bag of treats and breathed in the scent. ”Smells really good. Did you make these?”
Matt made sure she had the correct change and everything was set before looking back up. “Yes, everything here I either make this morning or last night because it needs to stay in the cold overnight. Baking makes me very happy.”

Noa bit her cheek to keep from laughing. She was pretty sure she’d never heard of strawberry Denmarks before. “I’ll take one of your strawberry Denmarks and... a couple chocolate chip cookies.” She bounced back on the balls of her feet as she opened her purse. ”How much will that be?”

It had been over 24 hours since she last slept, having had to go from one job to the next between yesterday and today. “Sorry, fresh out of funk help unless it can be solved with a drink.” She waved down a bartender and order a jack and sprite, as she sat down beside her at the bar. “This one needs another too, I think.” Noa said, nodding her head towards the girl.
The last remaining bit of the clear vodka slid down Celeste’s throat smoothly as she drained the remainder of the liquor from the bottle, glancing at it with a sigh. It’s five o’clock somewhere, she thought. In all actuality, it was midday. Brown eyes turn upward at the other. “I – ,” she paused, a bit taken aback. “Are you gonna get me out of this funk or are ya just gonna stand there?” She glanced once again at the empty vodka bottle and back at the individual hovering over her.

Noa pushed open the to the cute little bakery, smiling at the guy behind the counter as he greeted her. She was having a serious case of munchies and the lack of snacks at her house drove her to come here. “Do you have anything sweet left?” She asked, walking over to the counter.
The bakery wasn’t usually busy during weekday evenings because there weren’t that many options left and people just wanted to get home. He got a few stragglers that picked stuff up for their kids, or wives, or husbands, but not much else. It was about an hour and a half before closing when the bell above chimed softly. “Welcome to Bakkerij De Vries, how can I help you?” Matt called on instinct. If there were more people he may not have said anything because there was too much rush, but right now he was simply leaning against the counter with a smile. “We have a few things left and most of them are discount right now so that I don’t have to take them home and be eating them myself.”

It was after 3 in the morning, and Noa’s feet were cramping from her heals and her head was pounding. She pushed open the door to the dressing room to see it was deserted, the other performer’s having left already. It had taken her a while to shake a guy who kept asking her to go home with him. With a she collapsed into a chair and took off her heels, flexing her feet and wiggling her toes. Looking up from the ground she gasped at the sight of the girl across the room, she hadn’t seen her when she’d walked in. “Oh, god you scared me. I thought everyone had left already.” She pulled her blonde wig off along with the cap, and shook her hair out. Exhausted from the night, her smile didn’t reach her eyes. “I’ve seen you before but we haven’t actually met, I’m Noa.”

“Just in the right place at the right time,” she said, grinning at the woman. “I’m sure you would have figured something out reguardless.” At the mention of dinner her stomach growled, it had been too busy at work for her to eat. “I can eat when I get home. You don’t owe me anything, it’s my good Samaritan act of the day.”

Noa pulled back enough to look into her eyes, almost breathless. Her cheeks were flushed and her heart was pounding in her chest. “I told you so.” Just as quickly she was crashing her lips against Riley’s again. The noise surrounding her became deaf to her ears, all she could think and feel was this kiss.

“That’s perfect,” She said, walking out of the door and locking it behind her. “I’d love a margarita and some fajitas.” She pulled up the restaurant on google maps, it was only about ten minutes away. “I’m leaving now, meet you there?” The heat in the car was suffocating from sitting in the sun all day. After hanging up the call she rolled her windows down and lit a cigarette as she pulled out of her apartment complex.
