okay so if you need more veggies/fruit, protein or fibre (bc most people do NOT eat enough) in your diet but you struggle to do so, hear me out:

look up recipes (especially snack recipes) that are child/toddler/baby-friendly

i can guarantee there is a woman with a cooking blog out there who has found away to pack a bunch of vegetables into a surprisingly delicious little snack for her kids. this process has never failed me when i feel like i am not eating enough fruits and veggies. my entire flat is eating spinach muffins at the moment, which doesn’t sounding particularly appealing to most people and yet somehow. they’re delicious.

I know it’s not exactly fancy cuisine, but could you say something about what kind of home remedy foods (like chicken soup for colds) the various cultures have?

Bar Argonians, who are truly blessed to not get sick like the rest of us, there are a number of home remedies that are tried and tested across Tamriel.

Altmer

The High Elves are big fans of restorative brews and tonics, which can be both alchemical and natural, depending on what the ailment is. Dehydration is one of the most common ailments on the Summerset Isles due to the heat, and the cure is usually a tall, cold glass of cucumber and seaweed juice with lemon, ginseng, watermelon, and a sprinkle of sea salt. Both refreshing and sure to get you back on your feet in no time.

Bosmer

Valenwood is famous for its meat teas and soups, which are prepared with alchemical precision over the stove at home. Each Bosmer village has a healer who prescribes and sometimes prepares or gives recipes for healing soups. A common soup used for a sore belly is a beef broth with powdered thunderbug guts and soft bantam guar, which is easy to digest and doesn't taste quite as awful as cave troll...tea.

Bretons

The masters of homemade chicken soup, it's that and a salty gargle that High Rock treats all its ailments with (I jest)! There's something special about Breton chicken soup, which may be attributed to the never-ending stock cauldron hanging over every family's hearth. Served piping hot with fresh, melt-in-your-mouth chicken, soft potato meal, and flavoured with thyme, you'll feel the cold retreating after one bowl!

Dunmer

Native Dunmer actually struggle quite severely with the cold, and heating stews are meant to restore the body to the correct balance and temperature. Tonics and syrups made from ingredients like trama root, canis root and nirnroot (along with a host of mystery ingredients) are the staple. However, a gentle ash yam porridge or saltrice pudding are far better tasting alternatives for a sore stomach.

Imperials

Cyrodiilic sickbed food doesn't differ wildly from the regular balanced diet, but is less pungent in flavours and more heavy on the wine (a true medicine sent by Mother Mara herself). A common cure for a sore throat is mulled red wine with a lot of honey, ginger, and some garlic. Guaranteed to make you feel good, though its actual curative properties are up for debate when you're drunk...

Khajiit

Like every other food you'll find in Elsweyr, it should come as no surprise that moon sugar curative syrups are the home remedy of choice for the Khajiit. Apothecaries sell an amazing variety infused with various herbs and alchemical ingredients, which are made more palatable to swallow when diluted in a thick moon sugar treacle. Don't even think about chugging the stuff from the bottle though, as it definitely is not candy and will put you in a world of hallucinogenic trouble!

Nords

Nothing puts a Nord back on their feet like stew, especially when it's packed full of nourishing ingredients like soft braised mutton, leeks, mashed potato, and a good few drops of juniper berry oil. Whether you've got cramps or a fever, a plain, basic hot stew with juniper makes everything feel a little better for Nords. So beloved by the Province, Skyrim soldiers eat juniper stew on an almost daily basis (though whether it's for healing or because it's cheap is something I ponder). Oh, and one more thing. Sometimes we add steamed frostbite spider legs to really thaw out after a day in the elements. It's not as bad as it sounds, honest.

Orsimer

Orcs are pretty hardy and don't get sick often, but certainly do have bed days from physical wear and tear. Hearth-Wives are thus always at the ready with a bread bowl. Each Orc receives a hot bowl made from fresh bread, and filled with all kinds of secret, Stronghold healing ingredients disguised in shaved roast meat (usually boar or mammoth), and a good layer of mustard. I once suffered a broken arm at Mor Khasgur, and by the time I was done with the last crumbs of my bread bowl, it was fully mended, I tusk you not!

Redguards

As Redguards are sceptical to magicka, most healing is done through oral medicines and nourishing foods and tonics. A soft, steamed saffron cous-cous is the base for any number of ingredients depending on the needs of the patient. Those needing something neutral have theirs with a mint yoghurt sauce, chickpeas and pumpkin pieces, while those on the mend are given things like spiced goat (the spices help you sweat out anything) or mild chickpea gravy with raisins. It's never too bland, and is sometimes delicious enough to make you ask for more!

Lillith Maiden-Loom! She's lwkey so iconic... Like the way she plays the sweet old lady but occasionally the act drops and you can see she has some venom in her. I wish her character had more substance to it but idk the mystery is also fun. She's witty and has so much potential!!

current fan creation landscape is kinda like if you went to a party with a homemade cake and everyone takes a slice and silently thumbs up at you with no attempt to start a conversation except for occasionally some guy sits in the corner with a tape recorder critiquing the cake as though he was a restaurant critic and another guy is handing the cake to an uber driver like "yeah i need you to find a restaurant that makes cake like this so i can have more of it" and the only person that's talked to you in 30 minutes is a very sweet little guy who was like "hey i liked your cake" and then ran away apologizing for bothering you the moment you said thank you.
