If I were a skk stan I too would hate odazai, bc tf do you mean Dazai created an alternate universe where he:

screwed up everyone else's lives but Oda's

sacrificed his humanity and his own wants by becoming the leader of the mafia thereby negating Oda joining the pm and being sent to his death

sacrificed his friendship with Oda (bc they are no longer connected by the mafia) and at the end, his own life by committing suicide so the alternate reality with Oda's happiness would survive

That's a very deep love right there (or obsession depending on how you perceive it) that doesn't exist with any of Dazai's other relationships. So it's not really hate, it's jealousy. I'm a bit jealous too as a fyozai stan (just a tiny bit bc fyozai's dynamic is special on its own).

I think it's safe to say that other than Dazai, nobody knows Chuuya so well. But the reverse doesn't apply, and this is why shippers seethe (Dazai is the most shippable character for a reason). It's not even just Oda that Dazai has a deeply intimate relationship with either. Even his rival (Fyodor) knows him like the back of his hand without the years of history that Chuuya and Oda have with Dazai, bc Fyodor was inherently meant to be Dazai's foil. Kunikida doesn't have the deep understanding of Dazai that Oda and Fyodor have, but he understands him well enough to replace Chuuya as Dazai's partner at the agency. So yeah, shippers are angry. I'd be peeved too if everything that was supposed to be special about my ship was given to other ships.

This isn't an anti skk post. I can enjoy the pairing from time to time, but for God's sake the shippers are toxic and need to be humbled once in a while.
