Clouded Moon Cats per chapter
Major spoilers ahead!
I've been working on something for the last few weeks when re-reading the book. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1nVxdRcpXmD3FS19bu1NLx8QC8uW9dmDHIoSIvPwtHvE/edit?tab=t.0 It was fun watching the ranks change chapter by chapter.
Also, @tennelleflowers, @roselinbooks, Snap, if any of you can help me a bit with figuring out the genders of some of these cats, that'd be great.
Toms are marked in blue, mollies in pink, quinns in green, and any I'm unsure about are marked in black.

Slight update. Upon reading the book and listening to Tell Me It's You again... the lyrics "you move like a queen, a true queen" hit even harder.
youtube
Okay, after seeing Mufasa: The Lion King... I'm just saying:
Spottedshadow - Sarabi
Wildfur - Mufasa
Goldenpelt - Taka/Scar
The song "Tell Me It's You" just felt perfect for Spotty and Wild. And "Brother Betrayed"... I know Wildfur and Goldenpelt hated each other on sight but... it still works with the lyrics if you bend them a little.

Happy Ending AUs - Jaggedstripe
Welcome to my ramblings of wholesome endings for Clouded Moon characters who did NOT deserve to be in a toxic relationship.
Jaggedstripe in canon is in a horrible relationship with Fernface. To the point where he chose exile for himself and his kittens over staying with Spottedshadow. So, what would happen in an AU where Fernface and Volefur did not actually come to Field Colony?
Well, I think Jaggedstripe would be mates with Ambereyes. They would have Timberleg, Lilyfire and Peachblossom, as well as adopt Dark and Dawn when they were lost in the wastelands.
These two cats are not in love, and both wanted to be good parents. And good parents they are. Ambereyes and Jaggedstripe are very doting toward all five of their kittens.

Happy Ending AUs - Peachblossom
Welcome to my ramblings of wholesome endings for Clouded Moon characters who did NOT deserve to die.
First up, Peachblossom. Let's be real, of EVERYONE who died, Peachblossom's death effected the most readers. Avalon even tried to save Peach in their writing before the book came out.
Peachblossom heals with a few scars, and becomes a Mentor after seeing her brother and Spotty do an excellent job at it. She maintains a close friendship with Pool, even as he earns his Ranger name. (What that is, I can't say because I'm waiting on when it's revealed in another book). Spotty believes there's some kind of romance there, but Peachblossom and Pool deny it. Peachblossom also becomes an amazing honouree auntie to all of Spotty and Wildfur's kittens. (Again, not saying any names because I'm sure these two will have kittens at some point).
Unfortunately, Peachblossom does witness Goldenpelt's gang get exiled, and it hurts to see her uncle leave, but she understands why Spotty did it. Occasionally, she'll bring a rabbit to their colony, but she has to do it in secret.

Here's a fun game to play. What Captain titles do you think the Warrior Cats leaders would have? I'll start:
Bluefur the Blazing Fire (connecting to her "like fire, you'll blaze through the forest" prophecy)
Fireheart the Flicking Light (keeping hope up throughout even the darkest of times).

Still no Clouded Moon book on my doorstep yet, but I had a brainwave recently. Blixemi's song "On the Boarderline" is written about Crowfeather and Leafpool.
youtube
But, if you listen to the lyrics, they could just as easily fit Dawnfrost and Wolfthorn as well.
Dawnfrost, like Leafpool, has big ambitions in life - in Leafpool's case, it's being a Medicine Cat in ThunderClan; in Dawnfrost's case, it's hoping to become the next Captain for Oak Colony.
Wolfthorn, like Crowfeather, is more hopeful in the relationship. They are the ones who want to run away from the Clans/Alliance Lake. For Crowfeather, it's because he closed himself off since the death of Feathertail. In Wolfthorn's case, he wants to get away from Rainfall's brutality.

I've been listening to a song on repeat for quite a while. It's called "Taking Back My Love". Honestly, I think it's perfect for the relationship between Spottedshadow and Goldenpelt. Here's some of the lyrics from the song.
Goldenpelt: Go ahead, just leave, can't hold you, you're free You take all these things, that they mean so much to you
Spottedshadow: What did I do but give love to you? I'm just confused as I stand here and look at you
youtube
For the record, I still don't have the book! No spoilers!

That's honestly a really clever twist on things, and how good Nebula is as a Commander. He knows which rangers to partner up together and when to do it.
I’m thinking about how Commander Nebula is a very canny manager actually
Okay, teaming Buzz up with Mira after Warp’s “death” didn’t work straight away because Buzz is VERY STUBBORN AND SAD, but it was still the best decision available to Nebula. Behold, my reasons why!
1. Warp was a peer; Mira is a rookie. Buzz’s relationship with Mira will be less of a partnership and more of a mentorship. The jarring sense of ‘my new partner is not like my old partner’ will be much less because the relationship isn’t supposed to feel the same, and there’ll be less ‘am I REPLACING my dead friend???’ guilt as well. And if things are a little awkward to begin with, the mentor-mentee relationship provides a script to get things started. Not sure how to relate to this new person who is so very different to the old person? Show her the ropes! Check she knows what she’s doing! Answer her questions! Contrast this with the awkwardness of trying to form a new partnership with someone who’s a long-standing, experienced colleague - but not Your Favourite Colleague.
2. A lot of the established space rangers would probably be uncomfortable stepping into Warp’s shoes, since he and Buzz seem to be a celebrated partnership. But while Mira knows what happened, she wasn’t there for it. She can make a fresh start in the role of ‘Buzz’s partner
3. We know Buzz is a workaholic who’s fixated on the idea that he, personally, is responsible for defeating Zurg, so he probably refuses to take as much compassionate leave as he should. But by putting him in charge of mentoring a rookie, Commander Nebula can probably keep him off the most dangerous missions for a while and give him some recovery time under the guise of ‘training.’
So, Nebula reassigns Buzz in about the most sensitive way he can, and he ensures that his most promising new recruit gets excellent training into the bargain! And when Buzz kicks over the traces, he pulls some excellent shenanigans to ensure that he ultimately gets his way anyway. Yesssss, tell Buzz he’s responsible for the fiesty rookie cos ‘she’s his partner’ and put him in charge of wrangling her, then leave them to bond over their shared recklessness. Keep asserting what you want until you speak it into existance.
Also, you KNOW neither Buzz nor Warp would have been half so effectual if Nebula hadn’t partnered them together in the first place. It’s obvious that Warp needs Buzz to make him do anything useful, but I reckon Buzz also needs Warp to keep him from squandering all his precious man-hours on paperwork and never getting any actual space-rangering done. He’d probably still be standing on that moon in Zeta Quadrant recording his report if Warp hadn’t interrupted him. I could write a whole lot more comparing and contrasting the ways that Warp and Mira keep Buzz effectual, but that’s probably another post.
Tl;dr Commander Nebula is a genius manager who gets the best out of his rangers

Hi, everybody. I joined the Tumbler to follow the Official Clouded Moon page. To all who are working on the project, I love your work! I made a little gift for you guys too: Chart This is an age chart for all the cats in the Colonies. No Sunfire or Breezeheart though, RIP to two cats who I thought to get to know more in the story! And Redleaf's age isn't finalised; that was just a guess based on a reply I got from Snap. Ha! Boulder's older than Clayfur, Thrushspots, Larkwing and Aspenbreeze, but they are Rangers and he's still a New-Claw! That's hilarious.
