I think the struggles of adhd are really an issue impossible to understand when you don't have it

I'm dealing rn with the issue of having my private diagnosis approved by the national healthcare system so that I can get medication prescribed for it, and to say that it's impossible to get in contact with the only doctor that deals with adult adhd in the region would be a euphenism

and on the other side I have my family telling me I should just call my gp to ask for more information or talk to her face to face instead of writing an email, and it makes me realise that they don't understand that I rely on emails for the paper trail that they leave, because spoken conversations whether irl or on the phone are completely ephemeral in my brain

or that it's taking me so long to get in contact also because I forget this was even a quest in my life

boh! it just makes me wish I could deal with things myself sometimes, because even when I want to ask for help, the help I receive is just not the one I need, and it's just more detrimental. to be fair not even I know what kind of help I would need.

oh wait. yeah. I need medication. that would help
