Ohana Adoptable Nicole!

Take a look at this covergirl!!! Nicole is a beautiful longhaired dilute calico who is between 6-8 years old. Nicole was found, nearly emaciated, and in desperate need of TLC in Germantown last summer. As you can see, we noticed an obvious issue with her eyes. We immediately took her to our vet for an evaluation, and they deemed that Nicole's vision is severely affected by not only entropion, but agenesis. Its likely she was born with these issues, and as a result developed permanent scarring on her eyes. This scarring eventually led to near-blindness. Yes, our beautiful girl can only see shadows with one eye, and is sightless in the other. The issue causes her no pain, so rather than remove her eyes, our vet recommended we just find a special home for Nicole with owners who can help her out and clean her eyes every now and again. Other than that, Nicole is just like any other cat - with a little sass thrown in for good measure lol! Nicole is a bit of a Diva who prefers that her new home have no other animals, as she doesnt appreciate vying for your attention. We also recommend Nicole doesnt go to a home with kids, as that sass factor can cause her to become occasionally overstimulated, and she will use her claws to let you know. Nicole is an amazing little lady, who very much deserves to find her forever family. If you think you might be it, please email ohanacatrescue@gmail.com for an application!! Dont let her rather dour expression fool you, Miss Lida Rose is ecstatic to announce that she is getting surgery to have her feeding tube, and jaw wiring removed TOMORROW!! She will be able to eat on her own after close to six weeks!! We are amazed and in awe of the support this beautiful girl has received over the past month and a half. You have rallied behind her fighting spirit, and we are humbled by your generosity. Please make no mistake - none of this would have been possible without YOU, our phenomenal donors. After her tube and wiring is removed, well be updating her vaccines, and well have the vet assess her teeth to see if she requires any dental work on top of the care she was given to her jaw (it's not likely she will, but Ohana likes to make sure our kitties are in tip top shape before we start looking for a home!). After all that is done, well be searching for her new forever home .... INDOORS!!

Well also be trying out a harness on her to see if shed enjoy supervised visits to the great outdoors so she doesnt get too homesick of her life as a city kitty.

Our rescue efforts have continued throughout -- along with Binx and Lida Rose, well have a few more gorgeous gals ready for adoption, hopefully by the end of the summer. That said, we could always use help with general monetary donations, or donations of food or bedding (or the like) from our wishlist!!

Wanted: Loving Forever Home

This gorgeous beautiful, sweet, and loving lady is now up for adoption at the Bala Cynwyd Pet Value. Binx is 12 years young, and is looking for a home without other cats so she can have you all to herself! She enjoys catnip mice (catnip anything, really), snuggling, napping, and any and all pets she can get. If you know anyone interested in a sweet, and amazing declawed kitty, tell them to check her out! She’s available for adoption through Whiskers of Love Cat Sanctuary!

So, while our excellent tech guy gets a website up and running for us, I wanted to start a place where I can make posts and updates a bit more accessible/readable/user friendly!
