Today I brought in a pair of sunglasses to school so that I could use the computers for an extended amount of time (I also had to switch to high-contrast mode and then alter a bunch of the settings to dull the text) and at one point my course head came in and remarked that I looked cool. So that’s why I made Shady’s hair dyed (mine was bleached for a blue dye a while back).

That’s not why I made her 2010s girl’s isle colours, though, that’s just because the original Shady is really garish and I wanted to double that. Also, black eyes because I wanna see a black-eyed pony!

Shady clearly needs to make sunglasses so that people can even look at her…

Previously

Watermelody underwent a bit of revision on everything but cutie mark and eye color. I flirted with changing her beret design to be more ponyish, since hers is different from every other beret in the show, but ultimately decided against that because Luckette’s is also unique. It is behind her ear now, though, which is how actual ponies wear them, so there’s that. Her mane is longer and curvier than it used to be, and no longer symmetrical, and her tail is sort of a backwards version of Blossomforth’s instead of a copy of Wildfire’s. And of course her colors have been shifted around to emphasize that she’s a watermelon. Mmmmmm. (However, I did manage to resist giving her seed-colored freckles)

The others, briefly… Indigo Wreath reminded me of the Ditzy Doo pony from Winter Wrap-Up, so he got to use her coat and eye colors, and then I threw in Zipporwhill because she was the first other dog owner I thought of. SORRY APPLEJACK! Tragicomica’s mane and tail are pretty close to her human form’s, though the spike at the bottoms is swiped from Pinkie Pie and parts of her tail are based on Apple Brown Betty’s, and then I gave her shoes (shoes are always great) and slapped bows on everything. Northern Song is fabulous and I have no regrets… not enough ponies use that big unicorn model. And then Baked Alaska (which is not a name anyone else uses, nor one I encourage use of, but it’s too silly to abandon) had her hair transformed a lot because her human hairstyle looked really weird next to large pony ears, so I looked at Raven and some fancy Canterlot ponies and eventually got this.

Electric Sky

Evidently, this lovely unicorn lady has a very all-around talent - she’s a bright and industrious mare whose intent is to improve the lives of others via electricity and technology. Electrical goods aren’t really that spread out in Equestria, and the use of electricity is very inconsistent, which Electric Sky wants to ‘fix’.

Of course, the world has mixed feelings about this, seeing as things are working just fine, but Electric Sky will never give up the fight to see her ideas come to fruition.

Magnet Bolt doesn’t need unicorn magic to cast a levitation spell — her knowledge of magnets lets her do that without wasting any mana whatsoever! As far as she’s convinced, everypony could do a whole lot more if they just stuck a magnet in their hooves!

Twilight Velvet

It’s the last of Wave Four! Let’s all cheer a little. Yay!

Twilight Velvet’s job is simple: she is the curator of a museum full of priceless artifacts, gemstones and artwork in Canterlot. She takes great pride in the way she displays the various items and the sheer wealth of information she gives alongside each one. She’ll even take people on guided tours by herself, though she can’t do this all the time otherwise there wouldn’t be that many visitors. Her favourite part of the job is telling the stories of each individual piece.

SHOW CAMEO: The toy shares the same cutie mark, coat colour and eye colour as Twilight Sparkle’s unnamed mother, who appears in the episode Cutie Mark Chronicles in Twilight’s backstory.
