thinking that maybe if i opened my curtains and let in some natural light i’d take better photos ……

but i would rather eat nails smothered in garlic than come in contact with anything that could ruin my pale skin (and turn me to dust)

is my never ending stride away from femininity stinting my ability to style my outfits and come up with creative outfits?

the common denominator between all the clothing i find desirable is that its all very tight, and very low. If i was more so attracted to a looser baggier look would I not feel as prohibited in the way i view and dress myself?

perhaps its just me holding ideas too close to my mind, that something tight automatically means feminine. though, at the same time, i cant help but think thats a fact when I wear the clothes I like they enunciate my chest in such a way it makes me equate the look, and therefore myself, to being feminine.

maybe its just the gender dysphoria talking.

but i do still wish that sometimes i could wear patterned tank-tops without having my chest be the main focus of my mind the entire time its on out of fear of being seen as feminine, despite the fact that even without those tight tops im still viewed as a girl.

if there was no equated look or features that determined the way people think of you and view you in a destined binary, i wouldnt have this problem, unfortunately, the world is imperfect.

took like half an hour to do my hair, but perfection dosent come easily.

i cut a lot of length off of my hair yesterday, was getting too close to my collarbones, thats my cut off point.

also the bandana returns, with the SWS shirt …

youch. that hurt like crazy.

i did actually give myself a helix with a sewing needle and a lot of pressure.

that was the longest it ever took me to get in a piece of jewelry and MAN. DID IT HURT.

i missed the hole three times and just pushed the earring backing into my ear (youch) and then i found the hole, and applied crazy pressure (double youch)

it finally pushed through the but i had to apply even more pressure to get it in all the way (triple youch)

i gotta get bigger needles to make this easier.

i think it’s time to give myself another ear piercing, but i’ve run out of room after having three on each.

should i just go higher??? i got a helix piercing once, it got infected, and i tried to repierce it after it healed but the needle wouldn’t go through? maybe the skin is too tough for just a sewing needle, should i try again?

i just want more piercings, kinda obsessed with them

All emo DIYs i’ve done at the moment

Bracelets:

first two recycled from an old choker, spikes recycled from said choker and studs were from an old belt.

the last is made from the cut off hem of a shirt stretched out and roped over a few times

Wrist cuffs:

posted a tutorial on these a few posts back, made from the top of old socks, skulls made with acrylic paint

Necklaces:

chains from old necklaces, guitar pick is a guitar pick with a hole burnt into it, the other is the cut off end of an angel pendant

shirts:

painted shirts specifically, made with acrylic paint

though i’ve also altered literally every shirt i own to fit tight

bag patches:

made with scrap fabric and acrylic paint, hand sewn to my bag

bandana:

made from an old shirt, hand sewn button and button hole

that’s it ! i really need more ideas, but this is what i have at the moment, may these inspire you

How to make a pair of simple wrist cuffs/wrist warmers

1. take an old pair of socks with a long stretchy top and cut maybe 3cm under (though this can be changed with personal preference)

2. bring to sewing machine and flip the pieces inside out

3. turn the raw edge (the part you cut) over and sew along the turnt over edge (dont forget to back stitch!)

note: i used a zigzag stitch, but im sure a straight stitch would work too

4. turn back right side out

5. press with iron

6. all done! if you find the edges are still lifting up, throw them in the wash for best results

Hey Killiver. Youre the truest emo on tumblr. Im a starting emo and i really look up to you. Do you have tips for getting the subculture>_<

focus more on the music and history before you do the fashion.

if youre dressed up but have no knowledge to show for it, youll be a poser.

instead of relying soley on the “popular” emo bands (most of which arent even emo) you should focus on getting into harder subcultures and exploring unknown bands. easiest way to find what you like is to take a popular emo band you like (which i refer to as gateway drugs) and extend on what you like about them.

you need to find bands through what you already like. if you find youre not drawn to the harder aspects of emo such as screamo, emoviolence, and hardcore you should try things along the lines of mid-west, mall emo, and emo pop…. but if you arent particularly interested in those either, i wouldn’t recommend trying to get into emo.

to relay my point, you should be knowledgeable on the history of emo, know its roots, its origin, its waves and its expansion. this not being a commonality understood by the emo community is how we end up with people calling bands like twenty one pilots and panic at the disco emo

REMEMBER just because a band at one point looked the part, dosent mean they were.

in sum: the biggest part you should focus on is becoming well-versed in its history, and expanding your horizon of bands you listen to with a focus on smaller bands from hardcore and hardcore adjacent subcultures.
