Something really weird happened tonight as I was driving home with my mother.
We were listening to my playlist called "Grunge etc" (lol). From the time we started driving, we had listened to maybe 20 songs, out of a total of 476. A new song starts, it's "Like suicide" by Soundgarden. It is one of my all time favourite, from any albums, any genres and I'm always wanting to share stuff that I love with my mother, so I think to myself "I wish we'd have the chance to listen to the acoustic version, it's so beautiful, and it'd be the first time she hears it too."
Since the whole playlist was set to play all 476 songs randomly, I forgot about the thought almost immediately and enjoyed the rest of the original version.
The song ended and Chris' voice stretched the last syllables of the title, with the guitar ringing faintly in the background.
Then, the next random song starts, it's an all too familiar guitar melody that came out of the car's speakers: Like suicide, the acoustic version. I said out loud "OMG!" My mother asked "What? What is it?" So I started explaining the last thoughts I had, wishing to hear the acoustic version, even though there are almost 500 songs, and that technically both versions are placed one after the other in the playlist, and that the whole thing is set on "random all". We were both amazed by it all, I then explained the backstory of the song and some of the lyrics, and we listened to it once more ^^
It was so strange, I have to share it here xD I almost got chills when it happened

Any Chris Cornell and Jeff Buckley fan should hear this.
Alongside Chris Cornell on every date of his 2011 Songbook Tour sat a mysterious red telephone atop a bar stool. During the Houston show, the significance of it was never explained, it never rung, and he never even touched it.
It turns out the telephone belonged to Jeff Buckley, on which he claimed to talk to God. After Jeff died, his mother, Mary, gave it to Chris - on which he now uses to try to talk to Jeff.
He says he brings it with him everywhere, just in case Jeff decides to one day pick up…

Oh how I love this band so much. It's just a simple Happy New Year greeting with a picture as old as the hills but I still got giddy at the sight of a new post.
