The mayumiko in The Comic Bang does not mess around. Like wdym Mayu is just staring longingly at Mikorin running away in ep20?? Wdym he caught him falling out of a tree twice in a roll??? Wdym he kinda looked guilty when confronted by Nozachiyo about why he was out at a park late at night with Mikorin??? The balance of flustered Mikoto & stoic Mayu dynamic is so perfectly recreated 1:1 from the manga and I am fed. Nourished even. Its also crazy how fast it's implied that they become close?? In the manga it's obviously because of the both of them hanging around Nozaki but in the show there's none of that and it just happens,,?? I imagine this is how it probably seemed to outsiders/Nozachiyo & friends anyway lol because of how much 1 on 1 time mayumiko spends together. This is fufiling years of yearning to see manga mayumiko moments made into motion picture and the live action is now canon in my heart <3

I am Reasonable about the mayumiko encounter in this episode. (ep 16 i think...?)

I was slightly less insane when they explained what happened bc my mind was orignally going "mayumiko in the park at night and there is a hole in mikorins shirt that looks very purposeful. do NOT tell me he is somehow wearing a tiddy window shirt"

ANYWAY

first of all: what the fuck are you two doing. it is literally almost midnight. "im teaching him how to get down from a tree" IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT??

this is where i did a double take bc that did not look like a ripped shirt to me i was like mikorin i was not aware of your game.

I can't lie when mayu moved to stand in front of mikoto i thought about the umbrella scene w nozachiyo where nozaki walks on the road side to protect chiyo. oh mayu you truly are our suzuki. i just thought it was cute how he moved in front of mikorin, i assume its because the bank is on an incline and wants to prevent him from slipping forward

Nozachiyo pointing out the hole and then Mayu shot where he just straight up stares. chiyo stares too, but she has a very confused facial expression. mayu does not have that when he stares at mikoto. what reason do you have to stare? 🏳️‍🌈?

And after that, mayu is STILL staring at mikorin for the whole discussion. "I was teaching him how to go down a tree" so you told mayu your tree hollow secret and not your closest friends? Granted it is easier to tell someone separate from the situation about a problem, but still. hes literally nozaki's brother.

And they were soo cute heading back together!!! The whole thing really gave secret date I can't lie. I once again emphasise the fact that they're doing this in the middle of the night. How did that even happen. Normal people would organise it during the day. Even if mikorin didnt want to be seen you could have done it some hidden area. the only reason i can think of for being so late at night is that they were texting each other and one of them brought it up and they decided to go out. in which case kinda gay to be texting a guy till midnight.

chucking some kijiyuka stuff I drew a while back here to archive it ig. First few are yakuza AUs bc why not and also everything is captioned in chinese (soz) since it was posted on the other side of the internet first and i cbf to change it (maybe someday)

also drew this bc i thought it'll be fun to have the drama adaptation versions of kijima and yukari interact. sorry not sorry yukari-chan

and lastly a little celebration post for the release of the second season for the drama adaptation coming next year (hooray!! :0)

that is all for now... maybe when i find the time I'll make a masterpost for it because kijiyuka is hella great and the fandom has like 0 persons in it so I'm really desperate for someone to interact with me about it.

I totally did not only remember tumblr existed as a viable platform for fandom interaction after several years because the only reason i used it in 2019 was for mayumiko and now am coming back for the mayumiko...

gsnk/mayumiko rant?

so basically i come back and rotate through fandoms every once in a while and sometimes things have weirdly regular cycles for me like akam I crash back into the fandom every 3 years(maybe bc that's how often they make a dc movie featuring the both of them??) and ibsm is maybe like once a year or so. So now time has come for me to again be infatuated with gsnk and mayumiko (hooray :0) which comes with both pros and cons.

Pro:

I now have adult money and can indulge in all the mayumiko merch and get all the manga volumes AND get pixiv premium to look at all the banger art

My japanese has also gotten better for me to consume tsubaki sensei's twitter feed and other non-translated content

there's a good amount of content for me to eat up since i havent rlly kept up with gsnk for a few years

Con:

all the doujins are from like 2015 and now impossible to get...(huge)(i am distressed)(I need to read towa e moa 2 or I'll DIE)

I have run through the ao3 mayumiko catalogue in less than a day and now starving

the fandom seems pretty dead now mostly :,,(

anyways I will probably go on a mayumiko-drawing frenzy for the next few weeks if anyone wants to exchange fics for art OR just wants to ramble about mayumiko together PLS hit me up I am desperate for good mayumiko literature and also very willing to draw accompanying art for any stories/hcs TT
