Oscar just hasnt shaved while on holiday, has been working with the charity since AT LEAST the aus gp and has basically liked house music straight out the womb??? And omfg the people talking about the landostand and how he ‘copied’ it dont even get me started.

I genuinely think most lando and landoscar fans just see oscar as an extension of lando, and not as a driver who has caught up (and basically surpassed) him in half the time.

I find it so unlucky that we're grouped in with Lando fans because Oscar is his teammate. Oscar's still new but already showing signs to be greater than Lando could ever be and I honestly wait for the day he leaves McLaren and stops being Lando's teammate because I do not have the mental capacity to deal with Lando fans on a daily basis when this is their average argument.

Mclaren is also to blame for pushing the besties agenda which has deluded a lot of these landoscar fans, that and the yaoi-fication of sports that they play into, it's going to hurt them in the long run. I agree majority of landoscar fans have a Lando bias since they ship him with every teammate he's ever had, there are few with an Oscar bias mostly those who have followed him from before his time in f1. The thing with ships is even if you say you like both, your subconscious favourite driver will always show your bias, you can't enjoy the sport if you don't have a driver you prefer over everyone else and if you say you like them equally you're a fucking liar. With Lando biased landoscar fans it's because they've known him longer and so stay loyal to him. It's annoying, even more so because they're teammates and the F1 fandom thinks of that as a synonym for twins who do everything together rather than two separate individuals, it happened with Charles and C*rlos too and I fucking hated it. I can understand ships where the friendship seems genuine, but landoscar is so fabricated and PR I sometimes think these shippers use it as a coping mechanism to deal with the title fight, and when the driver they subconsciously prefer doesn't win they're going to become hostile to the other.

To believe Oscar 'copied Lando' is so self centred, do they also believe Lando's the creator of grandstands, charity and music? Are they aware that this is something that's been done be so many drivers before..? Lando isn't a special case 😭 And the facial hair argument holy shit Like I said, the things they come up with to hate on Oscar is so outrageous it isn't worth giving them the time of day and I hope I see the day he retires so the future generation doesn't have to deal with this shit, I sympathise and fear for the fans of his next teammate honestly

Its funny how oscar haters pretends lando gets more hate than anyone while there are much more vile posts and accounts dedicated to hate against oscar compared to lando.

The average Lando 'hate' are trolls and memes mostly after he bottles or fucks up his races, Oscar had some after imola and I didn't mind them honestly. Then there are fans who say they want Oscar to win the championship not Lando, which is literally an opinion I wouldn't even call it hate, performative or not. Majority of his hate is just fair critisism his fans don't know how to differentiate.

Meanwhile the average Oscar hater is cursing and accusing his entire lineage like it's a full time job.

From this Venn diagram I made, to me the words Oscar haters and Lando fans are very interchangeable, Oscar is more loved than Lando by the neutral fans because he hasn't done shit that would warrant hate, and that pisses them off so they'll try to replicate Lando's hate onto Oscar, but they go ten times further by dragging his entire family into it, which shouldn't suprise me since this is the same insane fanbase that hated on their own drivers girlfriend to the point they had to break up. This and the fact that Lando has been in the sport longer, naturally he'll have more haters (he's been doing shady things since before Oscar was even in F1)

In any sport no athlete is free from hate, and especially in F1, hate between two teammates fanbase is pretty common, I'm glad the I along with the internet wasn't there during the Prost and Senna era, it'd be hell in there. Currently I'd say Lando 'hate' might look more in quantity but it's harmless, and mostly online, he has a huge fanabse who do insane stuff to support him but His fans like to infantilize and baby him alot and they can't do that without making him look like the victim so we now have the famous 'Lando hate is forced' phrase which if we consider the shit he has done (trump statement, misogynistic comments ect) and compare it to the things they hate oscar for (not being hated enough) I really wonder which hate is actually forced.

I'll do one better, Oscar gained the lead within 4 races from a bigger points deficit (23) than Lando's had to chase since he lost it (22 after Canada) He's kept the lead for almost 3 times the amount of races, well after Lando got upgrades that made him comfortable with the car where everyone was so sure he'd lose the lead quickly. That 3 wins in the last 4 races stat his fans are parading around when 2 of those he's won because Oscar was disadvantage, no racing ability of his own so I won't even count it. Oscar won 3 in a row so 🤷🏻‍♀️ If McLaren can just get their shit together the rest of the season is his!!
