considering I haven't updated it in like 2 1/2 months you've probably already guessed but my fic Future Consequences is on hiatus!

I've completely lost the flow of it and I need to finish some other wips before I can dedicate myself to the research and juggling of the plot for that fic

I will be returning to it though and hopefully when I do it'll be with regular updates too! I just want to write it when I actually feel in the headspace to and not because I feel pressured by my own silly thoughts to update a fic

Nico di Angelo was tired of running. He thought it would have got easier with the longer he ran but no, it only appeared to be getting harder. After four years of not seeing anyone in person, Nico decided to visit to Hazel who just so happens to be spending the summer at Camp Half-Blood. There he bumps into the person who started his running but maybe this time he'll find a reason to stay.

Nico tilted his head up and met Percy's eyes. They were still just as pretty as the first time he'd seen them with their swirls of blue and greens.

Part of him wanted to tell Percy as such but he held off. They'd only been dating a few weeks, he didn't want to come off too forward.

Plus, there was the added presence of Percy's entire swim team close by.

A yawn escaped Nico's mouth before he could hide it.

"You didn't have to come see me before the competition, you know?" Percy said, voice soft and the smile that was present on his face showing through.

"I needed to be awake for Jason anyway," Nico replied.

Only a partial excuse.

It was a Saturday. Usually that meant ignoring the sound of Will, his roommate, getting up at the crack of dawn and sleeping in until midday. Then shortly after Percy would finish up his weekend job teaching kids at the local pool and come make Nico and Will's dorm room smell like chlorine.

Not that Nico was complaining. He'd come to quite like the smell of chlorine in the months he'd known Percy.

Today though, Percy had an at home competition with the universities swim team and Jason had invited Nico to study with him and his friend Reyna.

"I don't know how he does it," Percy commented. "I plod out in my pyjamas and there's Jason, fully dressed and alert while I only have enough in me to grunt at him."

A smile curved Nico's lips. His sister, Bianca, had teased him on their bi-weekly call the night before saying Nico was 'in the honeymoon phase'.

Nico had protested at the time although maybe she had a point as Nico found the mental image of a sleepy, just woken up Percy way too adorable.

"Come on, Captain!" came a call from where the swim team had gathered by the pool entrance. "We need you over here to sign in!"

Percy rolled his eyes playfully then shouted back, "I'll be there in a moment Travis!"

Before he could register what happened, Nico caught the flash of smirk on Percy's lips then that same mouth ghosted over Nico's ear as Percy whispered, "Can I get a kiss for good luck?"

Nico froze but he could feel the heat as it rose in his cheeks. His heart thumped harder in his chest and Nico's mind buzzed with the memory of how it had felt last weekend to be sat over Percy's thighs, kissing the chlorine off his lips.

He needed to get his brain moving and figure out his reply.

Don't get him wrong, he lo- really liked that side of Percy. He didn't hold back, always spoke his mind and Nico had admired that side to Percy when he'd been crushing on him.

Dating him though meant all that boldness was directed at him.

Percy's presence left with a soft, "Oh."

"Was that too much?" Percy asked and Nico instantly wanted to reach out and pull his boyfriend back. "You don't have to. You coming to see me off is enough."

Yeah, he'd forced himself awake at the same time as Will (much to Will's confusion), bleerily got dressed in his most comfortable black hoodie and jeans and took the walk over to the sports center, all because he wanted to see Percy off for his competition.

The least he could do was kiss his boyfriend good luck.

Nico cursed his lack of height as he pushed himself onto his tiptoes and had to practically jump at Percy. He knew Percy would catch him, he trusted him to do so.

There was a flash of confusion behind those pretty eyes as Nico's arms wrapped over Percy's broad shoulders and around his neck. An arm came over Nico's back just as his eyes slipped shut and slightly chapped lips connected with his own.

The force bumped his lip piercings into his teeth. Nico didn't care, not with the way Percy had made a surprised sound that caused Nico to smile into the kiss.

Maybe the novelty of kissing Percy would wear off one day, Bianca's honeymoon comment still lingering in his mind. Although, in that moment, as Nico tilted his head for a better angle and the hand on his back tightened it's grip, Nico didn't think it would.

It was only as he pulled back for air did Nico realise Percy was fully supporting him, Nico's feet dangling in the air. Percy didn't seem to mind his extra weight though as a forehead rested against Nico's own.

"Thanks Ni, I think I'm going to win now," Percy whispered.

"You were going to anyway, Captain," he replied in a similar tone.

Nico wasn't sure where the confidence had come from except the cute pink dusting that covered Percy's tanned, freckles cheeks made it all worth it.

"Jackson!" A deep voice called out. "Stop kissing your partner, you've got a team to lead!"

Nico's feet landed on the floor with a solid thud and he kept his eyes to the ground.

"Sorry Coach!" Percy replied as the rest of the swim team sniggered.

A hand landed on Nico's shoulder and Nico lifted his head. Percy's cheeks were even more pink than before and Nico was pretty sure his own matched.

"I have to go now," Percy said. "I bet the team will want to go for dinner after but I'll come by your dorm after work tomorrow?"

Nico smiled. "I'll let Will know. See you tomorrow, Percy."

Percy's hand dragged down his arm before the touch finally left.

"See you tomorrow," Percy echoed back and then he turned towards his team.

(From the look Jason gave him when Nico had made it to their meeting spot outside the library told Nico his cheeks were in fact pink and Jason knew exactly the reason behind why he was ten minutes late.)

Leo + Jason met when Piper and Jason briefly dated in their first year (as Piper and Leo are friends from high school). by the time they meet Percy they've known each other for nearly a year and are living together with Piper

Percy meets them both at a party at beginning of their second year because he's been invited by Annabeth to meet her new girlfriend (Piper)

he doesn't speak to Leo much there but he gets along with Jason and they hook up. the next morning Jason and Percy find it hilarious that they just slept with their ex-girlfriends, girlfriends, ex-boyfriend and that's the start of their friendship

Percy and Leo took longer to bond but they'd hang out through Jason/ pipabeth and eventually formed a friendship through being competitive at video games and a 1am snack run

they begin living together in their third year (same year percico meet!) because Grover becomes an RA and that leaves Percy without a housemate. conveniently, Piper and Annabeth wanted to live together so Percy took Piper's place

Nico was warm.

Almost too warm in a way that edged on uncomfortable but his head was too cloudy to care and his limbs too floppy to move himself.

Not as if he would have done even if he could have.

No, not with Percy wrapped around his front and Jason nestled behind him.

It wasn't the first time he'd found himself between the two of them but it was the first time the entirety of naked skin had pressed against the entirety of his own. He wasn't even sure whose legs were whose with the way they tangled with his own. Not that it mattered.

Nico let out a little sigh - one of contentment rather than his usual annoyance.

Percy's chest against his nose, that oceanic scent flooding his every intake of air, and Percy's arm across his waist, presumably out stretched to reach Jason's skin. Jason's hand on his hip, splayed across it as if Nico were a possession to own, and his ass flush against Jason's now soft crotch.

So much skin. So much warmth.

It should have been uncomfortable, the feeling of Jason's end slowly running out of him and the slowly drying product of his own and Percy's mixed on his stomach, but in the haze of the afterglow clining to his mind, he didn't care. In that moment it only served as a reminder - a reminder that the warmth around him was real.

A smile tugged at the corner of Nico's lips.

Jason's chest pushed into his back just as Percy's got closer. Even if he could have, he didn't need to tilt his head to know they were kissing above it.

When he'd found out Jason and Percy were sleeping together, he hadn't spoken to either of them for weeks. The jealousy had hit him full force, risen bile into his throat and he'd wanted to run. Jason and Percy may have acted the same in public yet Nico hadn't of been able to scrub it out of his mind. It had been imprinted, haunted his dreams, left him aching in ways he thought he'd put in the past.

And it had been worse than before because he hadn't been only jealous of Jason but Percy too.

Neither of them had left him alone though and Nico had felt each attempted interaction chip away at him until he'd caved.

They'd been an invitation to spar in the woods, something that only truly satisfied him when done with fellow children of the Big Three. He'd thought he would have been safe.

He'd been wrong.

Jason had ambushed him from behind, grabbing his arms and pinning them behind his back, and before he could even let out a shout cold metal had pressed under his chin and he'd caught the sea greens of Percy's eyes.

In that moment, he'd caved like a dog with its tail between its legs and who had cowardly returned to its owners.

"Bro, you think we killed him off?" came Jason's softer than usual voice and the hand on Nico's hip traced a pattern with its thumb.

Percy sniggered. "I hope not. I wanted a turn too."

Those words pulled away at some of the haze that made up Nico's mind and he forced himself to hum in recognition of their words. He wanted more. He wanted anything the two boys either side of him would give him.

Anything he could soak up before he lost it all again.

"Ah! The beast awakens," Percy's snarky tone sounded.

Outwardly, Nico grumbled into Percy's chest yet internally his chest annoyingly flipped. He pushed it down. There wasn't space for the will of his heart if he wanted to remain flushed and naked between the two of them.

Later, maybe even the next morning if he was lucky, the warmth would leave and the space it once occupied flood with reality. His chest would ache, he knew that, and so would his body as a reminder he couldn't escape. He should have never followed them back to Cabin Three, he knew that too, yet, as Jason's thumb continued its circles and Percy put just enough space between them to tilt his chin up and instantly close the gap again with his mouth, Nico continued to let himself drown.
