‘Pine marten’ in Irish Gaelic is ‘cat crainn’, which translates as ‘tree cat’, after their catlike features and tendency to spend much of their time up in the trees. These beautiful animals are unfortunately very scarce in both Ireland and the UK and I have only ever seen one sadly as roadkill not far from where I live, I’d love to see one live and in the wild here in Ireland some day.

Its thunderstorming right now and whenever it does, I like to picture myself in a little den in a tree. Im hiding from the rain, trying to stay dry. I need to leave my den soon to find something to eat but for now, I stay in my den, warm and dry, away from the loud thunder and pounding showers

I feel like this is important to post about because I do have "furry" in my bio; I am a furry AND a therian! I know that there's a bit of "discourse" between the two communities due to a lot of non-furries/non-therians mixing the two up, and I want to make it clear that if you are uncomfortable with me being part of the furry fandom and you are a therian/otherkin, feel free to block me. I won't be offended because I understand the two communities have had a rocky past but fursuit making is my hobby and the furry fandom helped me grow as a person and fursuiting has always been something that makes me feel really happy and comfortable :] Maybe this isn't important but I felt like it might be good to post

I visited Mingo Creek Park today and got a few really pretty photography shots! Its in places like these where I feel so sure of my thereotype and my identity as a therian <3 Sometimes it almost feels like my paws, tail, whiskers, etc. are really there and I'm not just an animal in a human "vessel" and its so freeing, and its a hard reality when I feel so strongly that I am not meant to be human. To be out in nature, to explore, to let go, its something I want more than almost anything else, and a feeling I wish could last forever. I want to feel the earth under my paws, the wind in my whiskers. I want to see the leaves change color and the flowers bloom, but not as a human would, but as a pine marten can while looking for its next meal, or peeking out after a long nap. I wish more than almost anything that I could experience the earth from the body of an animal <3
