Polkadot's Leather Halter came in today! I absolutely love the way this looks on her. The teal accent and the black leather is just amazing. This was the last Xmas gift I was waiting on, this is from my grandparents. @marystackshop special ordered this @perrisleather halter in because they didn't have the black and teal in Cob size at the time. I'm so so glad I went with the black. This is my going to events or videoing/photo halter, I wanted a nice, well fitting halter for those things. Might get a name plate for it in the future, we'll see. . . . Happy New Year! I hope 2022 is kinder to everyone. . I have been told do something towards your goal for 2022 on the first day, so today, I have tidied the ranch, I have polkadot on the tree, I will be working her in the round pen later, and I will be grooming Red and Odie to look beautiful. Polkadot will also get a grooming in, although I more desperately want to give her a good bath. . I will be entering 2022 with a positive mindset, for all I see is a bright future. I hope to go to more shows with Polkadot, not because I want ribbons, but because I want her to be seen and for us to get the experience. I hope for good health for myself, my critters, and my family, both blood and found. . . . Day one of trying to do walk canter transitions in the round pen. 💪 They are not perfect and need a lot of work but my biggest goal today was to get her to pick up and keep the canter for a short amount of time in a calm way, instead of going mock Jesus. There's a lot of undoing polo teaching happening for both her and me. I'm excited for the future. . Remember this is Day One! Hug your horse. Doesn't matter if they were naughty or fantastic, hug them every time. . Polkadot tripped badly today, I'm luck she managed to pop herself back up, possibly with my assistance idk tho, I don't remember what I did in that moment. All I know is I was praying she didn't go down. Polkadot never trips so obviously it was a surprise and was quite scary for me and for her. The last time a horse tripped like she did with me on them was the grey apha polo pony, and she went down. Thankfully everyone is okay. But I take this as a reminder to Hug your horse, which I promptly did after making sure she was okay. . Not me playing around with my horse and seeing what she thinks of the inflatable dinosaur costume 🎃 She was so good. I wouldn't do this with just any ol horse either . There were times where she said no on things I attempted to do while in the suit, and guess what I did? I honored the no.
