marvel has been very open about discussing the futures of characters who got snapped, having already confirmed spider-man: far from home, guardians of the galaxy vol. 3, an untitled doctor strange sequel and heavily implying the existence of a black panther sequel. meanwhile, they have said next to nothing about the characters who weren’t snapped, save the rumours surrounding a black widow solo film. from this we can deduce that it is entirely possible for the plot of avengers 4 to revolve around the two halves of our heroes swapping fates, such as tony giving his life for peter and steve his for bucky. in this essay i will

THE UNBEATABLE SQUIRREL GIRL #50 RYAN NORTH (W) • DEREK CHARM (a) Cover by ERICA HENDERSON variant cover by Rahzzah FINAL ISSUE! • This is it! After 58 issues (comics numbering is, dare we say: nuts), an OGN and a whole bunch of both eating nuts AND kicking butts, The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl reaches its 50th and final issue! • When we say “The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl’s final issue” though, we mean the *comic book*, not the character. Doreen Green will be fine! She’s fine! • …OR IS SHE? Because in our previous issue it really seemed like things WEREN’T fine and since it’s our last issue maybe we’re feeling that since anything COULD happen then anything SHOULD happen! • There’s only one way to find out, and you’re looking at a solicit text for it! • Friendship, explosions, and friendships forged during explosions: it all comes down to this! 32 PGS./Rated T …$3.9
The end of an era, friends. if you told me few years agon Squirrel Girl would have an ongoing series that lasted 50 issues, I would not believe you. The success of this book is absolutely undeniable

Christopher Robin says that we all need a little more positivity in our lives. I like to compliment my friends because it makes them happy, which makes me happy! You should see how high Tigger bounces when he’s in a good mood. I’ve even seen Eeyore crack a few smiles!

@marvelvsmarvel
First, thanks! Your avatar is also cool!
Second, I don’t think the trailer necessarily disproves my theory, although I admit it does weaken it somewhat. I have seen many people bring up the surveillance video and that it appears to say “1983: Archive” - however, if you look at this HD still you will notice that it actually looks more like “IS03: Archive”. Now what IS03 stands for, I haven’t the foggiest, but I am very intrigued by the fact that it definitely says “Archive”.
Unfortunately, if time travel does end up playing a role in the film (as I think most, if not all, of us now believe) it cannot be in this particular scene. Consider how Scott would travel back in time. Presumably, the only way he can do so safely is via the Quantum Tunnel in the back of the Ex-Con van. We see the very same van behind him in the surveillance video. How could he have taken the van through the Tunnel, if the Tunnel is in the van?
This brings us back to my original theory. What if he travelled through a time vortex to end up in the past, waited out of the way of everything until the Decimation, then made his way to the van which he knew would be waiting for him and drove to the Avengers Compound?
It doesn’t explain the “Archive” in the video, but as I said I just can’t imagine how the van would end up in the past.
Finally, while I definitely think that Fury will give Carol the pager during Captain Marvel, that to me feels like something that would happen in the last scene of the movie, or at least towards the end, rather than having an entire post-credits scene dedicated to it.
If we assume that Captain Marvel will have two post credits scenes, I think one of them will be someone close to Carol getting dusted, followed immediately by the pager ringing and Carol suiting up to go to Earth. The other scene would then either be what I originally said or something unrelated to Avengers: Endgame that simply sets up a future story.
I’d love to hear more of your thoughts on this!
just for the record, so i can say i predicted it if it’s true, here is what i think the post credits scene of captain marvel will be:
nick fury is sitting in his office in shield. maybe carol, coulson or someone else is there with him. suddenly, he hears a bit of a commotion outside, but before he has time to check what is happening a figure appears in front of him. who? ant-man. scott lang, who having realised something bad happened to his friends, sought out a time vortex as a means to escape the quantum realm and ended up in the ‘90s, where he made a beeline for shield headquarters and nick fury. he explains everything to him to the best of his ability and has to spend the next 20 years not interfering in his own life or the lives of his loved ones until the day comes when he can finally understand what is going on.
