WHUMPTOBER 2025: PROMPTS LIST

Welcome to Whumptober 2025 — The Eighth Year!

WHUMPTOBER is a month-long, prompt-based creation CHALLENGE (think: Inktober, but whumpier). There are four prompts for each day of the month, giving 124 for you to play with! There is also a list of 18 alternative prompts that can be subbed in for any day to give participants as much creative freedom as possible.

All prompts are meant to serve as inspiration without being taken literally (e.g. you don’t have to include the exact wording of prompts into your work). Feel free to run rampant on interpretation. For example, if the prompt is “flame", you could create something with reference to a candle/campfire, your character could have suffered a burn, or the flame could be a reference to an ‘old flame’ - an old relationship. It’s truly down to you!

You can produce work in any media you choose, including but not limited to: writing, visual artwork, photo/video/audio edits, paper crafts and elaborate recommendation lists (not just a list of links). You can participate as much or as little as you want (i.e. you don’t have to do ALL the prompts if you don’t want to) and prompts can be used in any order. They are also free to use even after the event ends.

THE CLONE WARS STRING QUARTET PROJECT

Hello there!

So I'm doing this very much on a whim (like I thought about this literally an hour ago akfkljsakdfjlasd), but I figured I might as well give this a try and I think it would be fun.

So, as some of you know, I'm a violinist and violist. I participate in a GSO, or a community orchestra that performs video game music that's arranged by our members. From my experience over there for the past few years, I really wanted to try arranging on my own. I'm still very much a baby arranger and am really only comfortable with chamber music with a heavy emphasis on strings so uh.

Anyways.

I arranged a few string quartets over the past few months/years, and one of my absolute favorite ones I've done recently is a little medley for Star Wars: The Clone Wars. I adore it so much that I want to try to bring it to life.

So that's what I'm going to do.

I AM LOOKING FOR...

Musicians! More specifically, anyone in the TCW fandom who plays violin, viola, or cello who is comfortable with recording to a click track and sharing that back with me.

People familiar with audio mixing! I admittedly know pretty much nothing about this. Since this is a string quartet, I'm imagining this part won't be extremely complicated, but again, I know nothing about this and would rather get someone involved in the project who is familiar with it.

Maybe even someone who wants to make visuals to go with it? That's more optional but. YEAH. THE MORE THE MERRIER.

I need to emphasize how much of this I'm doing on a whim. Like I don't know for sure that it'll work out, but I really wanna try and I think it would be a lot of fun to do something fandom-related that's exploring a different side of my creativity :)
