Been watching some silly meme compilations about furries (The Click).
I think Anakin uses Padme's money to buy expensive furry art of Obi-Wan as an otter man to give as a gag gift for Life Day.
Obi-Wan gets back at him by hanging it in the living room.
(Anakin accidentally becomes one of those suspiciously wealthy STEM people buying all the furry fanart without actually being a furry himself.)
@firebirdeternal:
Obi-Wan takes the gag to his own level by appreciating it with as much sincerity as he can fake and constantly showing it off to peers and coworkers and talking up how much he loved getting it from Anakin and other people keep asking him to help them design one for themselves, and while most of them are fucking with him some of them are not they genuinely have never heard of this and love it. He cannot tell the difference and it is driving him insane
I feel like if people asked Anakin to help them with designing a fursona, he'd dedicate himself to doing it right. He still doesn't have one of his own, has no interest in making one of his own, but he dug this stupid hole and now he must live in it.
Padme: You could just say you're busy.
Anakin, furiously scribbling ideas and traits on a notepad: NO. I GOTTA.
Also Anakin buys more every year in what might be genuine support or playful ribbing or an attempt to make Obi-Wan crack.
firebirdeternal: Furry Chicken instead of Gay Chicken
At least the first gift would be significantly more Standard Furry Style than this (which I've admittedly been thinking about) or this, but definitely an otter in Jedi Robes.

not sure if you've answered this before but for the sapphic au... how did leia and luke get made if their parents are both cis ? are they force babies, created by anakin meddling with the force just as sidious did and thereby killing padme? or maybe they just went to star wars sperm bank idk. desperately curious to see if you have an explanation in mind or if they just kind of popped into existence (sorry I just get wrapped up in silly details with everything)
Oh am I glad you asked !
Only hole in my flawless explanation..... There is no way in hell Anakin in topping regularly in this relationship. So gotta assume the moment they tried to switch it up a bit they got magic stap babies.

The Kiss by Francesco Hayez, 1859
[original + sketch under the cut]
i thought this piece was extremely fitting for these two (particularly a lot of its little details and the distinct shape of the figures against one another), and i have a lot of feelings about them recently, so this is the result

HELLO EVERYONE!
This animatic has been in the works for a few months now (on and off) but I’ve finally finished it! It’s a cool concept that I wanted to explore and I’m pretty happy with the outcome.
The beginning is a little rough cuz it’s quite old at this point but I did not feel like revising it lol the middle and ending tho are pretty decent so it’s worth the watch!

[The Phantom Menace begins with two Jedi intervening on behalf of a planet currently being blockaded by a greedy, ruthless corporation looking to bully the Republic into reducing trade route taxes cutting into their profits. Serving as official ambassadors, they hope to resolve things through peaceful negotiation, but end up forced to fight against the corporation's armed forces; first in self-defense, and later to keep the planet's ruler out of the corporation's grasp. It's soon very strongly implied that the corporation plans to get its way by starving out the planet's population, and said corporation is later indicated to be a part of the Republic's ruling elite via having a voice in the Galactic Senate, while also (implied to be*) controlling the Republic's head of state through bureaucracy and bribery.]
Jedi critical folks: The Jedi are just violent hired thugs of the Republic ruling elite and don't care about the common folk!
*Technically speaking, Palpatine/Sidious is the one making this claim, and he's doing so in order to manipulate Padmé into effectively making him the head of state in Valorum's place. I don't know what's said on the matter outside of the film, but given that one of Lucas's themes in the Prequels is the Senate being corrupt, I wouldn't be surprised if Palpatine was telling the truth here.
