Other times it feels right.

Pedro isn't sure which one it is right now, as he casts a glance toward Enea's sleeping figure.

They were watching old races (Pedro can't remember how many times Enea had made him re-watch Assen 2018 and he seriously wonders what's up with kids liking to do the same thing over and over again) in Pedro's motorhome, sitting side by side on the large bed. It was a ritual now. After Saturday's sprint race, after press duties, Enea would always look for Pedro. He would either launch into his arms as if he missed him for years or shyly hold out his arms open to silently ask for a hug.

Pedro was still settling into his new dynamic with the other rider. Something he hadn't meant to happen in the first place. He hadn't meant to become Enea's caregiver, to be the one person he looks up to with stars in his eyes like he was his whole world.

Sometimes Pedro feels that he can't deal with the responsibility of taking care of someone so innocent, so trusting of him when he is barely taking care of himself. And now, as Enea fell asleep against him, his head dropping from his shoulder to his laps, Pedro sat stiff as a board.

The situation is awkward.

Knees bent and tugged against his stomach, Topolero clutched under one arm, Enea is sprawled over Pedro’s legs, comfortable and relaxed.

Pedro doesn't know what he is supposed to think or do, or even if he is allowed as much as to breathe. Should he move, should he keep on staying still, is it okay if he drapes an arm over Enea's shoulders…? To add to his questions, he is slowly starting to lose feelings in his legs because of Enea's weight and the uncomfortable position he is in. His body had gone rigid the moment the Italian rider had leaned into him. Enea is not that heavy, but he’s not light either.

Still. Pedro doesn’t move an inch, not wanting to disturb Enea's soft and kitten-like snoring.

Despite the current awkwardness Pedro is feeling, the stillness of the situation also feels… soothing. Perhaps, it isn’t so wrong to actually feel good being here, with the low sound of the TV and the Italians commentary coming from it, and the faint sucking sounds coming from Enea.

Two fingers in his mouth, he is drooling all over his hand and poor Topolero. Pedro can’t help but make a disgusted face at it as he leans in to give Enea a look and notices the damp spot on his own jeans.

Asking someone else from the paddock for advice could be a solution. Maverick, perhaps? The younger KTM rider always had to be in his sight.

Also, Maverick is good with kids. He's not a full time caregiver, but he used to be. He would maybe know what to do for Enea's weird (in Pedro's opinion) oral fixation.

Marini was also an option. He gave good advice and was always willing to help, his steady and calm demeanor made him someone trustworthy. He was also very much liked by the littles, Bez called him his favorite.

Hell, Pedro would even ask Morbidelli - who was known for being an excellent caregiver - for advice if he had no other choices.

These three riders are the most experienced caregivers here. It was weird on a daily basis for Pedro to even think of talking to any of them, but being a caregiver meant going out of his own comfort zone and chat with people he didn’t want to deal with. The new world Enea made Pedro involuntarily step in made him do things he would have never thought of. However, it could come in handy to get a tip of two from them. So he can be good for Enea. Or trying to be, at least.

Pedro is startled and taken out of his thoughts when Enea moves against him. The Italian rider slowly stirs awake, tiredly rubbing his eyes, sleep still heavy on his body. Now that he can finally feel his legs again, Pedro doesn’t waste time to stand up and stretch his legs a bit, walking around the small room of his motorhome. Enea perks up the second the younger gets off the bed, suddenly wide awake. Grabbing Topolero, he starts to make a move to follow him, but a silent sigh leaves Pedro’s mouth.

"I'm not leaving, stay where you are." he mutters while stretching his sore back from sitting for so long.

Enea obeys, sits up cross-legged, tucking Topolero under his chin, cuddling him with both arms against his chest.

Pedro casts a glance towards the door of his motorhome for a second. He wonders that if he leaves Enea will follow him. Then he looks at the other boy, with messy curls and drool drying on his cheek, who's watching him, ready to jump out of the bed if Pedro dares to walk out of his sight even if it's only to go to the bathroom.

Another quick glance to the door.

To Enea.

Pedro makes a face.

Better not to try to run away. He's pretty sure Enea will run after him, fall down the stairs and break his ankle or something. And he's not dealing with a crying baby. Never.

Eventually, he gives a short nod towards the playing TV.

"You missed Assen. We're in Misano right now."

Enea pouts, giving a sad look to the screen where Misano 2018 is playing.

Pedro ruffles his own hair, looking away, slightly embarrassed.

"You wanna…” he trails off, unsure. “We can watch it again if you want." he ends up suggesting with a shrug, trying to sound casual.

Enea beams. Gives a fierce nod. He waits for Pedro to settle back down on the bed and as soon as he is next to him, Enea instantly clings to his side, wrapping an arm around Pedro's, putting his thumb in his mouth, and he stares at him. Pedro stares back instead of grabbing the TV remote. It quickly becomes embarrassing, so much that Pedro is the first to look away. However, Enea keeps on looking at him expectantly, with fascination.

During those moments, Pedro thinks he really shouldn't have been granted the caregiver title he never asked for. He doesn't know what to do. He doesn't know what Enea wants or needs and he can't even ask him.

That’s another weird thing about their dynamic. Enea, so bubbly, so joyful, so chatty, going silent all of a sudden. Whenever he switches headspace, silence takes over. Everything goes through gestures. Even when he is playing. Pedro never heard his voice once.

For that little detail, if Pedro had to pick only one little to take care of among the ones on the grid, his choice would definitely and always be Enea.

You had been secretly dating Pedro for several months, away from the cameras. His fame and your desire to stay anonymous had led you both to keep the relationship private. Still, that didn’t stop you from seeing each other and making plans like any normal couple — you just stayed hidden from the public eye.

On your birthday, Pedro surprised you with tickets to a Natos y Waor concert. You had spent days trying to get at least one ticket for Pedro, but without any luck — they had sold out immediately. You had felt down for days about not being able to get them. Seeing how excited you were and how sad you'd been, Pedro decided to get them for you as a birthday gift.

As soon as you saw the tickets, you burst into tears, hugging him tightly and asking him to go with you — to which he gladly agreed.

The day of the concert arrived. You spent hours picking out an iconic outfit that wouldn't attract too much attention, since Pedro would be coming with you. During the concert, you didn't stop singing and screaming every song, crying and dancing with Pedro as you both enjoyed the music and the show.

When the first notes of “Sudores fríos” began to play, you turned to Pedro with a smile on your face — your song, the one that had brought you together months ago, the one you’d dubbed “yours.”

Your arms wrapped around Pedro’s shoulders, joining behind his neck, while his hands rested on your hips, pulling you closer so you could sing while looking into each other’s eyes. Your faces drew nearer with each verse, your noses touching between smiles and lyrics.

When the song ended, you kissed out of pure emotion. The entire concert went amazingly — you enjoyed it like a little kid, and for a moment you even forgot you were in public. You let yourself go, dancing and exchanging fleeting kisses as if you were alone. You felt too comfortable to worry about your surroundings — you just wanted to enjoy the moment.

Everything felt perfect… until the next day

When reality — and the consequences of your actions — caught up with you. The first blow came when you woke up to find your phone overwhelmed with Instagram notifications. Your account was private, and you'd never posted anything public, but the follow requests kept flooding in.

“Oh, shit. What the hell did I do yesterday?” you asked yourself as you stared at the endless notifications lighting up your phone.

You quickly turned and gently shook Pedro, who had stayed over at your place. “Pedro, Pedro, please…” When the Murcian finally woke up, you showed him all the notifications.

“What the h—?” he said, grabbing your phone and his own, opening Twitter only to find a video of the two of you singing, hugging, and kissing at the concert.

He held his phone up so you could see the tweet. You put your hands to your head — your whole world unraveling over one heat-of-the-moment decision.

Pedro looked at you, trying to calm you down as he gently stroked your back.
