Maggie Valley’s $300.00 Chocolate Cake
$300 Chocolate Cake
1 stick butter
1 cup oil
2 cup sugar
3 eggs
½ cup buttermilk
1 cup water
4 Tbsp. cocoa
2 cup plain flour
½ tsp. soda
¼ tsp. salt
Boil water and cocoa for 1 minute and set aside. Cream together butter,oil,eggs,sugar. To cocoa mixture, add dry ingredients and buttermilk. Then add creamed mixture. Mix thoroughly. Bake in a 9by13 pan for 45 minutes at 350 and ice as soon as it comes out of the oven hot.
Icing:
1 stick butter
5 Tbsp. milk
4 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1 box xxxx powdered sugar
Bring to a boil the butter,milk,cocoa,vanilla for 1 minute. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar and mix well. Spread on hot cake.
This cake is easy and is a darn good chocolate cake..I double recipe and make a half sheet pan for cafe..they love it. It is for chocolate lovers only! The icing is good enough to drink..ha ha it tastes just like Hersheys syrup to me or better with the butter in it! Let it run down sides of pan when icing ..the cake absorbs it as well..when iced hot like that..its awesome!
