genuine question — how is donating money going to help Palestinians if no food is going in? What is the money for?

Medicine, water, supplies, food, fuel (much of it black market being upsold at egregious prices) — these all cost money and pretty much all Palestinians in Gaza have no source of income now. It’s drops in the bucket compared to ending the siege and occupation but it’s one way to do at least something small to help. Others are in need of money to evacuate when the border opens again (which hopefully is asap…), tuition and supplies for school to continue studies despite it all. Another fund is focused on trying to rebuild farmlands in Gaza to get food again that way.

I can’t tell anyone what to do with their money but I don’t think this mindset of “well nothings going in so we can’t help” is helpful for people on the ground who are the ones saying that donations can and do help them survive.

i am vaguely annoyed at how lancers lack of real presence in chapters after the first has made people kind of strip him of personhood and talk about him like hes a thoughtless toy

idk i was just talking about this on twitter too but i really do feel crazy... every single critique about the new deltarune chapters i've seen is about something that was done on purpose. and the people complaining are just missing the point 😭

tenna monopolizes the fun gang's attention in chapter 3, so there is next to no time to explore the rest of the world and meet npcs. the closest we're able to get beyond elnina and lanino is ramb and that's because we literally sneak away from tenna to talk to them (i don't believe in ramb's he/him pronouns.)

i've also seen people talking about there being missed potential with kris and tenna's relationship... like, yeah? tenna's watched kris grow up and knows them better than any other darkner ever so far. but um, we do not have the context necessary to act upon that potential bond. if you aren't paying attention you'll probably miss kris giving you the correct answers to the personal questions in the first quiz show, and tenna panics when you get them wrong! the kid he thought he knew is suddenly acting so strange and they're denying the memories he thought they had together. what do you mean your favorite food isn't pie, kris? don't you remember??

like kris remembers. and kris knows asriel got embarrassed about his first favorite super smashing fighters character. but WE don't! and we're the ones in control. so that bond cannot exist to its full potential and susie ends up filling in that empty space instead

and again, there is no wacky cast of npcs in the chapter 4 dark worlds because. there isn't supposed to be. it would have ruined the mood. the church dark worlds mark a shift in the story's tone. it's supposed to feel lonely and eerie. you're supposed to feel on edge and afraid because god, kris, susie, and ralsei are so much more ALONE in these dark worlds than they usually are. they still end up with support, but... not as much as usual. the stakes are getting higher, and they have to rely more on their combined power and friendship to beat the odds

it's a damn good thing that they were alone for 90% of the church dark world extravaganza too because it left room for moments like this. moments that could only happen in an empty space where there's no distractions from the shit that's been eating away at them for ages but previously had no time to address

it's hard for me to find validity in criticisms that amount to "but it's DIFFERENT from chapters 1 and 2" because yeah! that's the point! we aren't on a lighthearted silly adventure anymore! 1&2 established a pattern specifically so it could be broken so the themes and messages of the game could be driven home even more strongly. but i think people relied too much on the pattern when conceiving expectations for 3&4 and ended up missing WHY toby would want to break the pattern in the first place

Something I never really thought about until the recent chapters of Deltarune is Kris’s agility and gracefulness. They elegantly twirl while gliding through the air during the cooking minigame, even with plates of food stacked on their head.

They possess an incredible sense of balance, seeing as they can stack a multitude of items on their head without fail in both chapters two and three.

They also have excellent technique when it comes to turning. When they perform a pirouette/spin during battle in either chapter one or chapter four, their foot is pointed, their balance is well maintained, and their spotting is very consistent.

They’re also pretty remarkable when it comes to doing squat kicks at a quick speed, as seen in both chapter two and chapter three.

While some of this could be a result of the influence of the player, I do still believe Kris possesses a lot of skill when it comes to dancing. Their abilities could nod to the notion that they were a dancer at some point, or at the very least took dance classes.

I feel like Gerson is under appreciated. Like, he’s surprisingly well developed for how little time we get with him.

In undertale, he’s effectively the monster equivalent of an old man doing a massive yard sale, getting rid of shit he doesn’t need. However, due to his old man status “studying history sure is easy” and so he’s the only guy who tells you about the prophecy of the angel and the delta rune, as well as about Boss Monsters.

He also casually mentions he was a war hero back in the day, the Hammer of Justice. Now, two of the items in his shop are the torn notebook and cloudy glasses. These are both items belonging to the human soul of perseverance. Now, he could’ve just picked them up from trash zone, buuut it seems just as likely that he killed that human himself.

This is possibly why he is not in the least bit scared of you on the genocide route. Like, at all. He spits such raw lines as “I wouldn’t buy your chitzy garbage at knifepoint”. He also seems oddly self aware, like more than sans, saying he knows the player cannot kill him while in his shop when threatened. This absolute mad lad will charge you full price for his wares and there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it, and he fucking knows it.
