The nicest compliments I hear from my friends are people who know my plans for knight and briar and know how terrible aimé and rosie are and truly understand how horrible they would be as real people. And then look at my art and tell me "...but listen maybe I could fix them."

Are there any terms out there anyone is aware of that describes the difference between Like, I guess, Watsonian and Doylist BDSM in a work of fiction? Like, the difference between two people in a story engaging in something they identify as kink, versus say, a witch collaring her summoned demon in a way the audience is supposed to see as titillating, but isn't considered play within the context of the story.

The book is Preferential Treatment by Heather Guerre and I do reccomend it with some caveats.

It's basically kiiinda in a weird space ideologically because it is trying to have it's cake and eat it too. It's a billionaire romance, and at the end of the day a bit of a liberal fantasy about managing to femdom a billionaire into redistributing his wealth, so like. Completely radical it is not. If you're looking for deep radical anticapitalist politics, maybe don't go looking for it in your femdom erotic romance in the first place, honestly.

Buuuuuut I thoroughly enjoyed myself, the romance is cute, Mishka is my kind of subby guy, and it's a fun bit of fluff. Its wish fullfillment, socialism flavored, and it's good at being that.
