i would highly encourage folks to go read the full keats poem because that has equally ruined me. there’s a mention in the poem of the garland the woman wears being made of lilies which. gut punch much okay sure.

i also changed some of the composition from the original. both antoine’s arms are not outstretched, instead his right hand covers his heart to allude to both the stone he carries and his general emotional gravity. he’s just someone who loves and cares people and i find that sickening…

by far the hardest thing to paint was the horse. remind me to never paint a horse ever again.

you can blame @no-tengo-ojos for this. they told me about the painting, said “this but make it antoine and alia,” and took me to go see it and i am RUINED. RUINED I TELL YOU.
