I absolutely second this, this book series is EVERYTHING to me.

This book hit so close to home for me, especially the final book I almost started crying in the middle of class.

PLEASE READ THIS SERIES I LOVE IT!!

i've been so jaded by the lukewarm apolitical dystopia boom of the 2010s that it came as a legitimate shock to read the sentiment "just because it's illegal doesn't mean it's wrong" in a kids book from 1998.

anyway, if you have a kid in your life, you should have them read the shadow children series by margaret peterson haddix. for no particular reason.

This is Seraphina Hernandez, Briar stalks her at school because she killed Briar's boyfriend and she is trying to gain evidence against her. (I have not come up with a reason why Seraphina killed Briar's bf, but suggests are welcome.)

She is very aware that Briar stalks her and is very smug about it, whenever she catches Briar stalking her (though this rarely happens) she says something smug like, "y'know if you have a crush on me just say so," "I'd stalk me too, I'm great," or "I admire your confidence that I won't call the police."

She has a tight-knit friend group that prevents Briar from stalking her at school, so in-game you'd have to either kill all her friends or turn them against Seraphina.

Seraphina wouldn't outwardly call out Briar for stalking her, just a smug sentence before sending Briar off hoping she'd stop.

Her name is Briar Love, her surname is Love because she's in the process of avenging her boyfriend who was murdered. So she's out for love, but also blood, ok-

Briar is a trans teenage girl, (maybe 13-14?) who is a social outcast due to her odd behavior and isolation in favor of avenging her boyfriend who was murdered. Due to this obsession with avenging her boyfriend, she has lost her two closest friends, and is avoided and feared by her peers, becoming known as someone who "went crazy from grief."

Her mother left due to her fearing Briar and thinking she was crazy. Her father is still around but he does not stay because he loves Briar, he stays out of moral obligation to not abandon his child. However, he still leaves Briar home alone in favor of working long hours at his job to get away from her, according to Briar's father, he sees nothing wrong with this because he still meets a lot of the requirements for a child: Clean clothes, food, a roof over her head, running water, a proper education, and medicine when she's sick. (anything but therapy and quality time together lmao).

Briar is very thin and sickly, because she struggles with taking care of herself; so she joined the cooking club at her school to learn how to cook herself meals (she was kicked out of a lot of school clubs and wasn't allowed to join others by the ppl who run said clubs, she was lucky she was able to get into one.)

She is not related to my previous OCs who are all connected because they're a part of the same story. Briar is a part of a story completely independent of my previous OCs, they're not even in the same universe.

Briar's story will be told through a game, but unfortunately, I don't know jack about coding or game development. All I know is that I don't want to be like Alex Mahan's way of game development or coding, (THE YANSIM CURSE IS NOT GETTING ME!!)
