my hot tip for dealing with children and younger teenagers: feign weakness. children are persistence predators and instinctively zero in on your vulnerabilities. offer them low-hanging fruit that you’re not really sensitive about and do not mind being relentlessly tormented over and they will be so focused on psychologically destroying you that they won’t realize you’ve held out a decoy insecurity to distract them with.
